This Christmas season, love comes where you least expect it.
For Jessica Connolly, there is no better place than her coastal hometown of Blue Moon Bay. She has a wonderful family, supportive best friends, and a successful bakery on Main Street. Unfortunately, every time she designs one of her ex-boyfriends' wedding cakes, she's reminded just how unlucky she is with love...and that she's a good luck charm for men to find their happily ever after. With someone else. The minute they break up. So she's decided to be done with love.
Dr. Mitch Jameson is more comfortable traveling the world with Doctors Without Borders than staying in one place. He just needs to survive the holidays in his small hometown before he can leave again. The beautiful, intriguing bakery owner with an aversion to dating might be just who he needs to occupy his restless heart.
From sipping hot chocolates at the local festival of lights to early morning dessert deliveries, Jessica and Mitch rediscover the spirit of the holidays. But when the 25 days of Christmas are over, will their romance be over, too?

This is a Christmas Romance, and this is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series. I love the character, Jessica in this book. She is just so make fun and craziness. I really felt this is a great book with great characters. The storyline was great too. Both the main characters are draw to each other very quickly, but one loves the small town she lives in and the other loves not being tied to anywhere. I love seeing the characters figuring out they really love each other. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Entangled: Amara) or author (Jennifer Snow) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
What a delightfully sweet romance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I love it when an author has a remarkable talent that allows creating a feel-good story even when there is a case for heartbreak or sadness. Jennifer Snow is one of those authors.
This story encompasses so many emotions. It is a mixture of tropes; sister’s best friend, holiday Romance, age gap, and I’m sure a few others I’ve missed. But I loved every minute of the story.
It would be easy to write this with a taste of negativity, but the author chose the high road and we get a romance laced with fun, steam, and passion with a small bit of angst and tension. Such a beautifully balanced read that you just don’t want to put down!
Even though the story is part of a series, it could definitely be read on its own. But why would you want to? The first story A Lot Like Love was delightful too and you get to met some of the characters in this book too.
Definitely put this on your holiday reading list. I know you will love it just like I did!
This one was just an average holiday romance. I've read three by this author now and this is definitely my least favorite. The heroine is notorious for dating a guy before he finds the love of his life, so she's wary of dating anyone now. Mitch is back home after working abroad as a doctor in areas that need one. He's the older brother of Jessica's best friend, so Jessica had a crush on him growing up but he never really noticed her. They're reunited when he's back in town. This was cute, but definitely not memorable. I listened more to pass the time than to figure out what was going to happen next.
4 - "You're the most unexpected gift this holiday season..." Stars!
We return to Blue Moon Bay for book two in the series, giving us town baker; Jessica Connolly's story, and even better it's set in the month of December!
This is my first seasonal read of 2021, and Jennifer Snow set me off in great style. I liked Jess in the previous book so was intersted to read her story, and seeing the 'always the bridesmaid, never the bride' finally meet and fall or the man who ticks all of her boxes was a really enjoyable read.
She barely knew him. Yet, something about being with him felt eerily right. Natural.
Mitch was another big tick for me (and Jess) as well, and the Om/Yw trope was played out well, because his life experience and maturity was exactly what Jess needed in a partner. And what starts out as a temporary bit of seasonal fun for them both, soon starts to morph into something completely different, and both of them start to question whether temporary should actually be more permanent. But one has wanderlust and the other is a homebody, how do you mix those two traits successfully in the long term...
This was far more than just physical... Their connection went so much deeper.
I enjoyed this book much more than it's predecessor, the connection between the characters was electric, the drama low key and relevant, and it was all wrapped up in a giant Christmassy bow, what's not to love!

(free review copy) Meh. This story had lots of the ingredients I usually like in a holiday romance but missed so many marks. I rolled and rolled and rolled my eyes and wanted to scream at so many of the “conflicts”. So yeah, not for me. I like sweet stories and I like romance but this could have benefited from a few more beta readers to check the believability of SO MUCH of it.
Score another one for the feel-good books. I had a lovely holiday with Jessica and Mitch. I think Jessica won me over with that wedding cake move in the beginning of the story, but it was her journey to figuring out what she really wanted and needed that I embraced. Mitch was dealing with similar emotions, and I was glad they had each other as they figured stuff out. Holiday cheer and fun family events made the story even better for me.
This light romance is a quick read. It’s not exactly boy meets girl—well, man meets woman because they are older—because he is the somewhat older brother of her friend, and knew her when they were kids. But now she is a successful bakery shop owner and he is a doctor working with Doctors Without Borders. He’s home for three weeks during the Christmas holidays, and they chance to meet. And the rest, as the cliche says, is history. The characters have their share of problems and then some. But it’s Christmas, so things will likely work out for the good. The chemistry between the two main protagonists is electrifying and the action moves fast. It had better—they only have three weeks to figure out if they should commit to an ongoing relationship. It’s a sweet romance, perfect for Christmastime.
If you’re looking for a Hallmark story with steam, you’ve found it. Jess owns the bakery in her cute little hometown and Mitch is from her hometown but he’s been awayworking with Doctors Without Borders for many years. He’s coming home for Christmas for 3 weeks before his next mission and while he’s home, he meets Jess, who’s struggling with an offer to sell her bakery. She is tempted to sell it and see what else is out there in the world, but everyone and everywhere knows is there in her town and she loves it that way. But when Mitch comes and shows her a whole new perspective and love and intimacy like she’s never known, she thinks that maybe she can sell. If you like instagram love, spicy scenes and holiday romance, this is for you. Thanks to Entagled: Amara and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review

What a wonderful, romantic, holiday novel! Jennifer Snow sure knows how to spin a story full of emotion with characters full of chemistry. A Lot Like Christmas follows the budding relationship between Jessica (a bakery owner) and Mitch (a Doc with Doctors Without Borders). They live very different lives that intersect over the holidays. They fall hard, but their life can't be put on hold after Christmas. This is a true Christmas story set in a lovely town on the CA coast north of LA. It is a story of family, friendship, trust, true love- and in the end compromise. I adored Jess and Mitch and look forward to the next book in the Blue Moon Bay series (#1 is really good too!). If you love HEA holiday stories full of chemistry (and some steamy scenes), then you must add this to your Christmas-to-read list!
Sin dudas uno de los libros navideños más lindos que leí este diciembre 2021.

💝A Lot Like Christmas de Jennifer Snow serie Blue Moon Bay libro 2
Argumento:
Rating: 4 Stars!! Review: Thank you to TLC Book Club for picking me to win this book in a giveaway in their email newsletter last year!! This was my first time reading a book by this author in this series so i wasnt sure what to expect but i have to say i liked it very much and look forward to exploring more in this series very soon.
The Characters were very interesting and comical to read about at times. Jessica was my favorite especially learning how she got her Small Town Bakery started.
The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like i was actually in Blue Moon Bay while reading.
The Genre listing for this book was very deceiving as there was NO Romance in it whatsoever so i would call this a Christmas Clean Romance Book for those who despise Romance in Christmas books which would be perfect for you.
Overall a Good Book 2 in this Contemporary Series by jennifer Snow
This is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series. Jessica owns a bakery that she loves baking in but she seems to always end up making wedding cakes for ex's of hers. She wonders when it'll be her turn to have a wedding. Of course she doesn't see it happening in the foreseeable future, her bakery keeps her so busy she doesn't have time for romance. Jessica's character is so fun, she has a great personality but will she eventually get her turn at a happily ever after? Fun read, recommended.
Pub Date 28 Sep 2021 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
I enjoyed this small town Christmas romance by Jennifer Snow; it was the right mix of sweet and sexiness as well as emotion.
Jessica is known Blue Moon Bay’s good luck wedding charm after she dates a guy he goes on to marry the next girl he dates and because she’s the only baker in town she end up having to bake their wedding cake. She’s beginning to think she needs to move on, but leaving the town she grew up and the friends that mean so much to her, not to mention her family makes it almost impossible for her to consider even with an offer to buy the bakery from a large chain. Then Mitch, one of her friend’s big brother walks in to pick up an order for his mom and sparks fly.
While Mitch knows he needs to spend time with his family during the holidays as he’s on a break from his last Doctors Without Borders assignment, he can’t say he’s all that thrilled. However when he sees Jessica when on an errand for his mom, he begins to think the break at home won’t be so bad.
Despite Mitch being in town for just a short while, they don’t immediately jump into bed together. I found it interesting that despite the heat between them Jessica wanted to wait and Mitch was okay with that. They spent some time getting to know one another with Mitch being 10 years older than Jessica and his sister; he really didn’t know her well. They both seemed to fall quickly but for them it worked. They complemented each other perfectly. Jessica was interested in Mitch’s work and respected why he felt the need to do it, yet because of Jessica’s volunteer work for local charities he saw that there was need right at home.
A Lot Like Christmas was an enjoyable, holiday story filled with laughter, romance, and love.
This was a strange combination of a lot going on but still feeling bland. There were soooo many tropes (dealing with PTSD, age difference, sister's best friend, insta-love, and that trope where everyone she dates goes to to marry the next person they date). The MCs sounded good on paper, but I think the biggest problem with them was their insta-love. It didn't give the author enough time for character development.
The other thing that really bugged me was all the factual assumptions that were just wrong. Things like the store owners being afraid that the town council would force them to sell. Huh? How could that happen? And most of the details surrounding the bakery were completely wrong. How could our heroine run a one-person bakery and come in late in the morning? Does the author not realize that baking takes place early in the morning? When she did start work early, it was to do deliveries. It really sounded like everything she sold was day-old. And how could she walk away from the shop for three days before Christmas? And the nonsense about not wanting anyone to order her 'special' cake - why did she even offer it for sale if she didn't want to sell that style?
Yes, there was a sweetness to the story. But there were so many problems with the characters and details that it overwhelmed the sweetness.
This was such a great story to read, I love anything to do with Christmas and this one has plenty of Christmas with a whole lot of romance!! The attraction between Mitch and Jessica is sizzling but neither intends to fall in love....famous last words! lol The decisions they need to make as Christmas gets closer made me want to bite my nails, I can't even imagine having to make these type of life changing decisions!
I really enjoyed Jennifer Snow's style of writing and her characters were wonderful, even the secondary characters. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author!!
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS is an adorable and delightful holiday romance. Jessica is a baker in her small town, Blue Moon Bay, and she really wants to find the one and bake a cake for her own wedding, instead of her exes. It seems a lot of guys she used to date are getting married, and it all comes out when she attends one of their weddings, that she is known as a good luck charm. When a guy dates her, they find "the one" right after. Jessica is wary and unhappy about this, but it's tough to date in a small town without all the history.
Mitch works with Doctors without Borders, and he is heading back home in between tours. He is reluctant to see his family, and he is still reeling from the events in Cambodia, which he just left. He hopes to head back there on Christmas, as he feels that is the place where he can do the most good.
When Mitch and Jess meet, it's sparks right away. As they spend time together over the month of December, their attraction only grows. But, their time together has a deadline, when Mitch will leave to go back to Doctors without Borders.
I loved the couple, I loved seeing each of their perspectives, and I adored their chemistry. This ended up being a pretty steamy read, and I really enjoyed the slow-build of getting to know each other and the fire created by their limited time together. They are a fantastic couple, and it was delightful getting to watch them grow together. The book does handle some tough themes around family and PTSD, but I appreciated the depth they give to the book and characters.
As a holiday romance, this one successfully pulled off all the feels of the holiday season, and I loved the way it transports the reader to all the joy (and sometimes frustrations) of the Christmas season. It definitely put me in the mood for the holidays!
A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS is a delightful and steamy rom-com read that I absolutely devoured. Highly recommend for fans of holiday romance. Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
A Lot Like Christmas is a sweet and sizzling small-town holiday romance. Jennifer Snow writes about two characters who on paper aren't supposed to be together but because of the magic of Christmas let down their walls and fall in love. Readers will love this one!
Jennifer is a bakery owner in her small-town, Blue Moon Bay. She has had bad luck when it comes to her dating life. It seems like after she breaks up with her exes they go on to find the one and find their happily ever after. Will it always be like this forever?
Mitch is a doctor in his late thirties who is returning home to Blue Moon Bay. He is someone who is always on the go so doesn't expect to spend much time in the town. But he meets Jennifer and he feels the sparks. He has never been too keen on serious relationships because work always comes first, but this woman is about to change everything.
Jennifer and Mitch have sparks and sizzling sexual tension. They are so cute together. Their interactions are hot and heavy and yet something is so right about this. For the first time, Mitch is fine with defining the relationship and wants Jennifer to be his. Things are complicated because Jennifer is his sister's best friend and Jennifer doesn't want to cause any problems. And many in town see their age difference as a disaster waiting to happen. This love story will make you swoon and yet keep you on your toes. At some point, the two have to make decisions that will change their lives.
I give A Lot Like Christmas 4 stars. It's a romantic holiday read about finding love when you least expect it. It's an enjoyable holiday romance that you can't help but love.
4.75 Hearts What if you were a good luck charm... In love... For others.. Not yourself… Well that is what Jessica is known for. She has dated men who find their real loves right after dating her. And to make matters worse they all want Jessica to make their wedding cakes. Hooked yet? You should be.
Not hooked yet? Ok what if you are a doctor who is on a break from Doctors Without Borders and is forced to go home to your family and are counting down the days until you can go back to Cambodia and then you meet an adorable baker and suddenly one month isn’t long enough since there is a deadline until you head back to where you are most needed. Hooked now?
What if I said all of this happens during the merriest time of the year. Now you are hooked! Jessica and Mitch are delightful together. I loved all the emotions they went through and including family issues, PTSD and self awareness.
I read this is July but part of me wished I had waited until the Christmas season when I could have sat under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot cocoa and had some me time because this is a great story to get you into the mood for romance and the holidays.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really good book !!!! Jennifer Snow knows how to write a great and sweet romance with lots of spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
If you like a great holiday romance story with a pastry chef who makes sweet desserts 🧁, axe throwing 🪓 and fun times then this is the book for you. This story revolves around a woman named Jessica Connelly. Jessica is a small town bakery owner. She decides that she is done with dating. She ends up having to make wedding cakes 🍰 for all of her ex-boyfriend’s.
Of course the perfect guy walks into her bakery at the time she doesn’t want to date. The guy is Mitch Jameson who is a Dr. He has been on assignment with Doctors Without Borders. He returns home to Blue Moon Bay to recover with his family before heading back to Cambodia. He ends up meeting Jessica in her bakery and she changes everything. He knows that he should stay away from her because he is leaving but he can’t help himself. Jessica and Mitch fall for each other.
This book had Christmas festivities, axe throwing 🪓 and this book had spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶. I loved reading this book from start to finish.
A Different Kind of Christmas Countdown. What happens when you meet a new person 3 weeks before Christmas and you find yourself falling in love... and yet they have told you up front that they are leaving town again on Christmas Day? Well, in this case... you have a plot (and plot device, as the countdown is given at the start of every chapter) for a romance novel. :D For the clean/ sweet crowd, know that Snow doesn't exactly shy away from the sex scenes here, and they are never of the "behind closed doors" (unless inside a freezer counts? :D) nor "fade to black". Otherwise, this was a fun Christmas novel of the various parties and sweets that flavor the season while also dealing with a couple of distinctly non-Christmas heavier issues as well. Truly an excellent work that shows Snow's skill of showing off social issues without letting them weigh a story down - and even working them into the overall theme of the given book. Finally, I love the "connective tissue" of the series such that we see the couple from the first book a few times and seem to have an indication of who at least one person in the next couple in the next book will be. Excellent tale no matter the time of year you read it, and very much recommended.
I wanted to read a Hallmark Movie Romance, but also make it ~sexier~ and this book was exactly that.
We have Jess, the small town baker who is very Small Town and loves her bakery but for some reason an Evil Corporate Man wants to buy her bakery for ONE MILLION DOLLARS (no he was not Dr. Evil) She is conflicted (??) about this.
Next we meet Handsome Mitch who is a Handsome Sexy Doctor who is a humanitarian and works with Doctors Without Borders. He doesn’t like the Small Town vibe and is leaving to go back on assignment on CHRISTMAS.
Anyway they meet and it’s literally instant love. like, they immediately want to make out with each other. Their chemistry is really good. The plot is mostly predictable if you have seen any Hallmark movies.
The minor characters were .. well tbh they were kind of annoying. :( sorry.
Anyway this definitely checked all the boxes for a spicy Hallmark Christmas
A Lot Like Christmas is the best kind of feel good, sexy, sweet, holiday romance read. I am a sucker for everything Christmas and this book delivered it in spades. I fell hard and fast for both Jessica and Mitch and was rooting for them from the very beginning. Both characters are easy to love because they are such incredible people both individually and together. When I started this book I was in a bit of a mood but as I read through it I felt myself lightening up and relaxing. A Lot Like Christmas made my heavy heart happy with its Hallmark feel good goodness plus that added heat factor we all need and want too. I’m giving A Lot Like Christmas the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval and adding Jennifer Snow to my one click authors list. TBR and Enjoy!
Jessica is known in town, as a good luck charm. Every one of her ex's marries the next person they date after Jessica. Jessica is ready for her happily ever after. Enter, her best friends brother Mitch. One problem they couldn't be more different. Jessica loves the small town life and the Mitch prefers traveling the world and not being tied down to one place.
This book is fantastic! I read it in one sitting! I absolutely fell in love with the plot and the characters. It's funny, sweet, romantic and so much more! This the perfect feel good winter read.
Jessica is tired making wedding cakes for exes, and damn that last bride did her dirty. Jessica wants to find someone nice, and keep him.
Mitch is busy, and suffering some trauma since his last mission with doctors without borders. He has to spend xmas with his family, and he wants to get back to work quickly (and also doesn't want to go because of trauma.)
They meet, they hit it off. But yes there is that thing that he only has a few weeks before going back. There is also this silly issue of him being to old for him. She is 29 and behold, he is 39. Yes I do not see the problem.
But it was cute, they liked each other fast, they want more, but she has her entire life there, and he can't stand still.
A good holiday romance.
Good narration, she set the mood well, and had good voices for all. I felt right at home.
I have reviewed this title for New York Journal of Books where it will be posted the evening prior to the release date.

The Delicious Delicacies Bakery in Blue Moon Bay is 29-year-old Jessica Connolly's pride and joy. She loves being the proprietor of the best sweet shop in the coastal California town, and her life is almost complete. Her dream is to have a man to love and a family to cherish, but lately, all she does is make wedding cakes for the women who are getting married to guys she once dated.
Attending the latest nuptials, she learns she's become quite the joke around town. The three men who dumped her are now marrying others. The newly engaged call themselves the "New Bride's Club" and consider Jessica their lucky charm. If their betrothed hadn't broken up with Jessica, they wouldn't be getting married. Feeling like a laughingstock, Jessica wonders if she should remain in the small community she calls home. When anger builds, she can't help herself:
"She stopped in front of Emily and John, where her beautiful creation sat on a cake display rack for all to admire. Their silver knife engraved with their names and the date sat next to it. They both glanced at her in surprise.
"'I wish you both a lifetime of happiness,' she said. Turning to Emily, she added, 'You're welcome.' Then, taking a deep breath, she picked up the 52-pound masterpiece she'd spend days working on and carried it straight out of the country club.
"Only the audible gasps of surprise and disbelief from the crowd and the flash of the tables' disposable cameras followed her out."
Jessica heads back to her shop and starts to devour the cake, deciding she's had enough embarrassment and is through with dating. She is only opening herself to more heartache and giving the single ladies the opportunity to grab her guy when he leaves her. As she works on new orders, she hears someone calling.
"'Hello?'
"The unrecognizable male voice had Jessica counting to ten.
"Where the hell were they all coming from? Hadn't she served everyone within a five-mile radius by now? She'd expected her business to be slow because of the wedding stunt.
"'Anyone here?'
"'No, I just leave my bakery unattended . . . hope the Keebler elves sneak in to do all the baking at night,' she muttered, pushing through the screen door that led to the front of the bakery. 'How may I help—’
“She stopped, and her jaw dropped. 'Mitch Jameson?'
"Had hadn't changed at all in the years since she'd last seen him. If anything, he'd gotten hotter.
"Or maybe, as a teenager, she just hadn't noticed Lia's older brother that way.
"She sure as hell was noticing him in that way now."
Mitch, a physician ten years her senior, had been working in Cambodia with Doctors Without Borders. Mitch loves his nomadic lifestyle and getting the chance to see the world; this is the first time he's been home in years.
Jessica has a standing holiday request for Mitch's mom, who plays Christmas to the hilt. She is flustered seeing Mitch, thinking he's there to pick up what she calls her "Nightmare Christmas order." The order isn't ready, so they talk a while until Mrs. Barnett, a widow and owner of the adjacent shop door, barges in, shaking a paper at Jessica and demanding an explanation.
Jessica received an offer from Not Just Desserts, a large company wanting to buy her business. The conglomerate wants to purchase the block of three shops to enlarge their bakery, and they've given her a month to decide. Though she isn't considering selling, she has not mentioned this to Mrs. Barnett, or her Aunt Frankie who owns the fabric store on the other side of her.
Their offer is very lucrative, but Jessica cannot put her neighbors out of business. But with the unbelievable proposition, she knows she would be set for a long time. Where would she go, and what would she do?
Mitch charms the widow, and when she goes on her way, he offers to help Jessica, seeing she is swamped with orders. While talking, they both sense the chemistry between them. Jessica wonders, How could this be? Mitch is my friend's big brother. Not only that, but he won't be here long. Maybe they could have a good time, but they'd need to keep it hush-hush, for Lia would have a fit.
Jessica and Mitch see each other on the sly, and things get hot and heavy before long. She starts falling for him and dreads the day that he will leave her. Never having felt like this before, she tries to reign in her heart and feelings.
It seems she's not the only one bitten by the love bug, but what can Mitch do? Though his physician father wants him to take over his practice so he can retire, Mitch made a commitment and cannot see himself holed up in a small town.
It's understandable for Jessica to be reticent about their affair, but her fear of Mitch's sister discovering their relationship is a bit over the top. In addition, there is a big deal about them being ten years apart in age. Would that actually matter? Is she afraid of Lia's judgment, or is she terrified of being hurt again?
A sensual and sexy read, "A Lot Like Christmas", book number 2 in the Blue Moon Bay series, stands well on its own and deals with the struggle of emotions and what matters in life.
The insta love was a little too much for me in this book. Instantly holding hands and wanting to kiss each other within the first date. Yeah, not my cup of tea. I really wish the whole good luck charm for her ex-boyfriends to find their happily ever after was . Talked about it in the beginning and woosh it was gone. The beginning is what really captivated me towards this book and then it fell flat with kinda a different story line. All in all this was like a adult Christmas Hallmark movie that gave you the feel goods in the end.
Another great book in this series! Can’t wait to read the next when it comes out.
I listened to this entire book while doing some major deep cleaning today. It was the perfect, light story to listen to and keep my brain occupied while I cleaned. While it takes place in December & has Christmas in the title, it’s really a book that could be read any time of the year.
A new to me author that blew me away. I was expecting a sweet, small town romance and that is what I got but there is also a delicious amount of heat. A baker and a Doctors without borders man with wanderlust fall in love over the holidays. Highly recommended and great on audio. I am looking forward to reading more by Jennifer Snow!!
This gets major points for plot, but every so often the author just kind of forgets show don't tell (frequently during high tension moments). It's not major enough to not enjoy the rest of the book, but it was enough to take me out of it/lose the tension. If it were possible, I would rate 3.5. 3 is too harsh, but I can't quite give it a 4. Also, the confliction, towards about the 2/3rds mark, almost but not quite borders on whiplash.
