A collection of original body-positive feminist art from Instagram personality Stephanie Chinn.
You are always enough and never too much!
It’s time to love yourself as you are and support the sisters all around you on their own self-love journeys. Here Sister, Let Me Help You Up offers more than 90 pages of relatable art and inspiring words to encourage self-care, body positivity, and confidence in the different but equal paths we choose.
- Meet your body gently, with truth and love - Protect your head and heart from negative messages and let positivity flow - Celebrate your strength and worth in all the seasons of your life
Every page of this beautifully illustrated book guides you past self-doubt and limiting beliefs to embrace the gift of your glorious body and the fullness of your life. It’s only when we realize how much magic we each hold and let it shine (without apologies!) that we can change our lives and change our world for future generations.
Needing just an efficient 96 pages, author/illustrator Stephanie Chinn seems to have packed in a positive affirmation for just about every kind of girl and woman. In the artwork and writing of “Here Sister” one will find a tsunami of self-love, encouragement and upbeat empathy. Her thematic cri de cœur is nonnegotiable: “You are always enough and never too much!” And who can argue with that?
Altogether the book is inspiring and adorable, its message more necessary now than ever. The author rallies women to reject society’s insistence on spotlighting what sets one individual apart from another; by emphasizing sisterhood, Chinn builds the widest possible tent, leaving no one to feel “othered.” Maybe more than anything the scenes in the book are just downright sweet: something decent, in a world where such overt kindness is always in short supply.
Grateful to have found this book. Lots of wisdom in it that I want to come back to from time to time. Had a revelation about having a “big” life here and the belief that I can’t feels like it’s limiting me. But if I treat it like that maybe it will be that. Also really appreciated the ideas around dreams and how important they are and that we need to nurture them to let them grow. Also healing my inner child, interesting to think that’s something that can happen, I think I’m just in feeling upset that she’s wounded and hadn’t maybe moved into the idea of healing yet which feels monumental. Liked this.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and it is exactly what you would think. The art work is the star and the messages really do feel like Instagram captions. The overall message is good, but there is nothing revolutionary here. I'd say it is a good book to throw in with a gift, especially for a young woman, but the price of the book makes that difficult for those on a budget. I think the author was on to something, but I'm not sure book was the right format.
This book was amazing! I so much appreciated being reminded of my worth. As I read some pages with a friend, it made me feel closer to her as we related our lives to some of the things written on the pages. Definitely recommend this to women who need a reminder of who they are and what you are made of.
I am so glad I was able to receive this book (goodreads giveaway).
An uplifting book of quotes and inspirational images about body positivity and self-love.
My favorite quote/page “your body is phenomenal and the least interesting thing about you… when we reflective upon the people we love and why we love them, we don’t think about how we love them because of the shape of their body.”
This book is like the most perfect bra you can imagine: comfy, snug and supportive.
As I was reading through Here Sister, Let Me Help You Up, I could feel myself getting lighter. The weight of my thoughts and feelings started lifting away from me and left me with a sense of content, peacefulness and strength to believe in myself and in supporting others.
I love Stephanie Chinn’s social media posts and I am so happy to have them in book form! I already have several of her framed prints and I am so happy to have the book that I bought extra copies to give away. Her message is so relatable and her work is joyful and necessary.
