A Christmas Promise
Devin Winter hasn’t been a fan of the holiday season since her fiancé unexpectedly broke things off with her just before Christmas two years ago. The sight of decorations and the sound of Christmas music instantly brings a frown to her face. If it wasn’t for family, friends, and running her store, she would rather be at home and have nothing to do with the holidays. Grant Washington enjoys this time of year, and when he crosses paths with Devin, he notices the displeasure that she displays. Feeling that no one should feel this way, Grant promises Devin that he will bring back the love she once had for the holidays. Will Grant be able to keep his promise and make Devin love Christmas again. Or will Devin let the hurt her ex caused continue to take her Christmas joy?

Fulfilled Promise

I'm always down for redemption from a fk boy. Devin no longer enjoyed the Holidays because they now represented a time where her heart was broken. Two years later her eyes are opened to Grant, A friend of a friend. He makes a promise to help her love Christmas again. It was the sweetest thing. His attention to her was everything. Like so many little things...helping her take off her shoes, thoughtfully planning dates, making her feel wanted. Sigh. He was so intentional with her that she didn't have to think twice whenever the fk boy ex would pop up. I loved how no energy was given to him. Grant knew he wanted to make her happy and make her his and he did just that!
I loved how the author described the characters... I could clearly picture their fine selves and that's one of my favorite things as a reader. This author was ntm and I would read more from them.

I loved this. Short, sweet, and super Christmassy. And that first kiss between Devin and Grant 😍😍. Swoonworthy. Looking forward to a full length by this author.

A cute little holiday novella. Give me a story with an attentive man and I am going to eat it up every time! Grant set his mind on making Devin happy and he did it by showing up, keeping his word and being genuine. Love that for my girl Dev! I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick holiday romance.

Devin loved everything about Christmas. When her fiancé broke up with her during the holidays after a 3 year relationship, that all changed. While at a Friendsgiving, mutual friend Grant noticed both how beautiful Devin was and how upset the Christmas music made her appear. In efforts to change those feelings, he sets out on Operation CP: Christmas Promise to make Devin fall in love with Christmas again.
This was such a cute read! I love how Grant planned an activity every week to rebuild Devin’s love for Christmas. I could picture the ice skating and cookie making and the picnic by the Christmas tree. All cute, cozy holiday activities. Grant kept his promise and was able to make Devin fall in love with more than just Christmas. Idk about saying I love you in 4 weeks lol but definitely a cute holiday read!🎄♥️🍪

Short and Sweet Book about Devin and Grant, Devin’s heart was broken by James and she vowed to never do Christmas again, Grant promised her he would make her fall in love with Christmas, not only did she fall in love with Christmas but she fell in love with him as well.

This was perfection! I could easily read a bunch of short stories about these two. He kept his promise and brought her so much joy. Such a cute, fluffy read. Highly recommend!

It was cool
This was like a 3.7 rounded up for me. I liked it overall; sweet story about finding Christmas joy again. I liked Devin and Grant together. What knocked it down for me was a little too much itemization when describing things (*paraphrasing* I lifted my hand and knocked twice and then stepped back). Things like that disrupt the smoothness of the read for me.
More detail actually could've been used during things like the cookie bake at Grant's family's house...it just skimmed over that completely so we didn't really see how that helped Devin regain her Christmas spirit. Grant's mission was incredibly sweet, though it was hard to really get what difference it made...Devin was over Christmas, then she was all about it again, without much exploration as to the progression towards that.
And I loved the HEA, though the declarations of love seemed a wee premature. That dimmed it a tiny bit more for me.
Overall, though, I did enjoy it, which is the most important thing. :)

I liked that Devin didn't shut him out and that she allowed herself to see what another man was capable of.
When he met him, I thought he was a tad creepy though, being so close to her and then going after her but when you know you like someone and want to be with them, you do what you have to to make it happen.
It's a sweet story with holiday lights, sounds, family, friends and stuff. It's a quick read.

Years later at a Friendsgiving tradition her and her friends have, she connects with Grant a friend of a friend, and he promises to make her love Christmas again, and boy does he lives up to his promises!! *chefs kiss* He was so intentional and I love that for Devin, hate it for me though! 🤣🤭

I absolutely love the cover and title of this book. This book had the potential to be a really good read based on the originality and all things Christmas alone, however, it seemed rushed and there wasn't really a chance to connect with the characters. I still recommend it

Beautiful story
This is a beautiful story about restoring the joy of the holiday season and finding more than you bargained for. Devin has been sour about the holidays for the last couple of years but Grant makes it his mission to give her back what she's been missing. In the midst, they both find a lot more that leads to a couple of forever. This is a very good debut book.

Pretty good short story!
The author’s first short story was actually pretty good and I enjoyed it. I loved the way that Grant’s promise to make Devin fall in love with Christmas again and in turn caused them to fall in love with each other. I’d love to read more of this author’s work.

You’ve got to love HOLIDAY LOVE
The story line was good and although this was a short it was well told
. I wish there was a little more development of the story but that’s what made me want more. It was an easy read and the romance was natural. The grammar and spelling errors were a bit off putting and distracted from the mood.

Quick, cutesy and sweet. Grant did not play about Devin and was intentional in both his pursuit of her and the opportunity to rekindle the joy of Christmas for her. Devin just needed to experience being with someone who'd remind her who she is at her core and who cared just as much about her well-being and they did their own.

This was the short Christmas romance I was looking for. When I first start ed readingthis ,I thought it was going to be the same old cliche; girl and guy are together, break up, several hiccups later they're back together. Nope, not this one. Very enjoyable read.

4.25; I liked the concept of making Devin fall in love with Christmas again. I wish they did more things. I feel like if she really despised Christmas, it would probably take more convincing. Other than that, this was a cute, fun read.
