After a horrific war, ancient humans from a distant galaxy succumbed to a relentless foe. Encouraged by their late successes, the first humans dispatched spores of life to evolve and repopulate the universe. To lead this new iteration of man, they included their most powerful weapon to win the endless war - The Nebula Lord, and he has finally awoken. Contains intense action, adult situations, and untraditional relationships.
This book could have been so much more! I don't like to write negative reviews but there aren't any yet so here's an alternative viewpoint:
The good: Interesting premise/world & setup. Starts off with a glimpse into a hard working kid's life. Writing kept things moving.
The bad: After a promising start the story goes off the rails. And I'm not talking about the harem elements. No, I'm talking about the plot: it becomes wildly unrealistic.
MC's 'team' is always telling him 'just trust us' 'we've got a plan' Maybe a try to build suspense? It'd be fine if he at least checks their work? But he doesn't! he's a ship owner/captain who just goes along with whatever someone says!? Huh!!!? What would happen is that he gets his brand new ship stolen right off the pad. Ridiculous.
And that's another thing. He works his ass off to get enough money for a junker, THEN HE IS JUST GIVEN A BRAND NEW SHIP!? It's got guns, insane power plant, brand new digs, etc... biggest drawback is it looks slightly funny. No work for it, no nothing. That's not how life works and it makes for boring reading. We could have had a grind with him & his crew slowly rebuilding a spaceship, instead he just goes gallivanting off f***ing his way across the galaxy. No struggle, no plot.
Stopped reading after ~five too many unrealistic / ridiculous major events.
This book is an interesting tale. The humble beginnings of what will become the superior being. Becoming or perhaps living up to been a Nebula Lord Is tricky when you don't know what 1 really is or what 1 can be come. That seems to be the dilemma of are poor MC. You fumbles around and gets giving a lot of gifts And eventually find some purpose In uniting 3 races. The story was fun but I feel the MC had it a bit to easy with the gifts and woman. However this book also seems to spin a new series as well that is remote my connected. I may check out the next book.
It was a fun and unique Sci-Fi story: enjoyable characters and a unique spin on the OP character. Not litrpg but hints at their being a litrpg side story possibility. More an origin story than standalone so here’s hoping there is a continuation. Narrators were great. It is very harem-y and graphic at parts. Could have done without them but not a problem enough to deduct stars. Just be forewarned.
I very much enjoyed the plot and am looking forward to the next book but There was entirely too many glitches . It made reading and understanding what was being said difficult. Til the next book, thanks
Love the book, the story is awesome, characters deep and the take on alien cultures absolutely fascinating. Enjoyed it very much and cannot wait for the next book! :D
Read this book in 2 days. Really good!! Love the characters and watching Gaius come into his own is really cool. Can’t wait to see where this goes. Definitely want more of this series!!!
This offering by Mr Eisenhower exceeded my expectations by authors writing in this genre. Looking forward to further books featuring Gaius and his ladies
DNF for me. (dropped it somewhere around Chapter 11)
Writing seems ok, an interesting concept even, with the general story being about freshly graduated merchant traders sent on a mission in an uneasy political climate between several factions. The start was a little slow, the editing needs work, and it had some odd time jumps that left several of the early chapters jarring.
All of that is forgivable if somewhat distracting and detracting from the overall polish.
I threw in the towel right around the time
Seriously, content like this should really be disclosed in a warning by the author, and with more forwarning than "has sex scenes" or "Doesn't fade to black". There is a wide difference between 'that' and where this book goes. In this book's case, it destroys any interest I have in those characters making them unappealing, and me uninterested in continuing with their story.
Ryan Eisenhower is now on my blacklist, and will never see another cent from me. This is sad since I have read both 'The Frontier Tavern & The Master Crafter' and also "Trapped in Myriad Online" and found them to be decent enough.
Honestly, a warning, either here on Goodreads, or on the Amazon/Kindle page would have saved me time, and Mr.Eisenhower a potential future customer.
Good old fashioned space opera but with a furry erotica twist.
Anyone growing up at the time that I did will recognize the writing. Captain Future, Lensmen, the writing style is very familiar to geeks of baby boom age. The author simply mixes it with anime tropes and produces a new kind of space opera! Works for me.
Okay, this is just an incredible adult fantasy story wrapped completely in an amazing science fiction story!!!! Is there some editing issues, yes. They in no way take away fr
