The book started strong with introducing a missing girl and Emma having the ability seeing ghosts and souls. Who abducted those three girls? Are they still alive? Why does Emma resist to help the police at the beginning? But following the course of events there is to much inner vision on Emma's mind and feeling. The author should have put more focus on the missed girls and how they were taken. This would have made the story even more intriguing. There are so many mystery thrillers out there. This one has all of the good ingredients but sometimes the story dragged a bit. Somehow I expected more here. Overall it was okay but nothing to kick you out of your seat.
Horses, ghosts, missing girls, psychic abilities, this book has all the good ingredients. I started the e-book at the doctor’s office and read straight through after I got home. Details are realistic; I’m a psychic medium, and the author got it right. Highly recommend and I want to read more by this author.
It looks like this is the first book by this author & overall it wasn't that bad. I did figure out the "who done it part of the book" pretty early on but even though I was correct, that even had a little twist to it.
I found the main character Emma very annoying at first. Always complaining & whiney. When the book started from the way Emma was acting I just assumed she was a teenager. Turns out she was not.
Emma is actually an adult. Who was a social worker in the city and she also use to be married to a guy name Steven. They are divorced now and Emma is back in her hometown living with her Grandma Rose (a.k.a. Gram) on the Farm.
Emma is a unique & somewhat annoying at times character. She can see and communicate with ghost & animals. She has this huge connection to the horses on the farm.
Now, she is back on the farm after her Grandpa passed away & a woman in the city didn't take her visions seriously and was murdered along with her 3 children by her ex. Emma is done with that part of her life. She just wants to be "normal".
Gram wants Emma to use her "gifts" to help find a missing 8 year old girl that disappeared 2 months ago. This is the third little girl to go missing. They all are the same age and look similar.
At first Emma refuses to consider helping at all but ghost can be persuasive.
While trying to help solve the cases of the missing girls Emma runs into a huge road block ... her ex husband Steven. He is the Chief of police and just thinks she's crazy.
Thankfully another police officer (Jake) has a more open mind and agrees to help.
Anyone who loves horses and paranormal mysteries should appreciate this story! Emma moves back to her hometown to help her Gran out on her horse rescue farm, and to hopefully get away from the ghosts who try to talk to her. Of course that doesn't work out and when she tries to help in the case of a missing girl, her jerk of an ex-husband, who is now the chief of police treats her horribly. All the characters in this are great, especially the horses! I only discovered this author last week, and I've now read both her books. Hope there will be more coming soon!
