3.5 stars: This was a quick, pleasant romance with a kind - hearted vampire and a woman, who has found exactly what she has been looking for.
It is pretty short, so I do think that had it been longer, it could have offered more character depth and plot complexity. However, it was still a pleasant read and the main couple was nice enough.

Wow short and sweet, thank you Belle for this delicious but of goodness. I've always wanted to know about Ben and his lady love and I'm not disappointment their so perfect together. I was scared for Hazel because of those wolves and Ben came to her rescue. I admire her for not overreacting when she found out about Ben being a vampire.

I know it's a novella, but I feel like we got almost no backstory, so almost not even worth it? Fun to see Hazel & Ben's beginning but would have liked maybe another 50 pages of explanation.

This book should be labeled as 1.5 in the Twice Bitten series.

We previously met Bennett in book one. He is the vampire that chases down Lexi and helps relocate her to a safe home. The Russett pack was briefly mentioned in that book, and those wolves are seriously messed up!

This is the story of how Bennett and Hazel meet, and how he protects her from this awful Russett pack when she is new to town.

I actually preferred this book over the full length novel. Wish this one had been slightly longer, with a more fulfilling ending. Could certainly be read as a standalone.

So we get a short story on Benedict. So he is a vampire and has been lonely and living on his own. He was keeping watch over Raf's family for a while. We know that Rafe is from the Russett pack and they are some ruthless, crazy wolves. They do bad things and Ben decides to try to keep watch over them. Let's meet Hazel who just moved to town and the alpha of the russett pack has his eyes on her. Ben is not going to let him get close to her. Can he keep her safe? We learn a lot about these two in a short span but it was all worth it in the end. I love these two.

I thought this novella was adorable and a good addition to the world this author has created. I was happy to see how Hazel and Ben got together, I ship them so much. So adorable. I know it was a short for an antho originally but not gonna lie I wish it was longer because they are both so cute and their chemistry was fabulous! It was nice to see the tie in to the first trilogy of this world and get the perspective of what happens when wolves and vampires battle it out. I really liked Hazel and Ben was swoonworthy 😍😍😍

I love this book, the new moon series and Ada's series, but I need more!! I need to know if Lexi and Ada have kids? How and when Ada gets turned to a wolf... will Lexi meet her Aunt? Will a cure be found so the wolf's can have female offsprings instead of just males? What's Lexi's dad's back story? Does Mason and River find their mate? Does Jett and Makhi get Claire back??? 😫 I need to know!? Please write soooo much more about all of them and continue Lexi and Ada's stories please! 🙏

I read "Twice Bitten" in January 2025 and I wasn't a fan. I can't believe I didn't notice that this is in the series. It was honestly written really poorly and there were so many immediate inconsistencies. For example, at one point she says the pizza box is on the floor, then a couple paragraphs later, she'll say it was propped up next to her (she's not on the floor). If this happened one time, I could overlook it, but it happened about a dozen times in a very short novella.

We also just needed a *little* bit more of a backstory on Ben.

Cute and Quick

First time reading a Belle Harper story. Just a short novella with a damsel with a broken 💔 looking for a fresh start, some bad wolfs and a very lonely and sad vampire. But Hazel provides Ben with a new lease on life as well being a target of bad dudes. Also is a slightly different take on what a wolf shifter can do. Interesting, will probably check out more on the scene in Washington (Why does a gal from down under like Washington state?)

Interesting story, great prequel to a new series. Want to read more. Hazel is a human who decides to uproot her life and buy an old home in a small town. Little does she know there are wolves & vampires in the town. When she meets
Benedict the vampire & the nasty Russet wolf pack at the bar, she has s now in danger. Ben saves her from being kidnapped by the pack but is injured in the process. This starts a cute & fast burn romantic turn to the book.

I totally fell in love with this book and characters. I could not put this book down until the very last page was read. It moves along at a great pace. The characters are amazing and no matter what you want to see them succeed in what they need to do. The story will grab you and not let you go until the last page is read. This book needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.

I wanted to know Ben and Hazels back story, and here it is. And can I just say I love it! Short and yet so full of story. It's everything I needed, with its action, suspense, and romance. I love these two and hope to see them pop up in future Kiba stories, even if it is just to say hi!

I love spin-off books and this one is great. It gives you a short but sweet insight into how Hazel and Ben meet.
They are drawn to each other but the local wolf pack are interested in Hazel but Ben wants to keep her safe without revealing he is a vampire and scaring her away.
Galen makes an appearance and it was great to see how Ben fits into the Kiba timeline.

Midnight Prince is connected to the New Moon series by author Belle Harper. So this is a fast paced - short story.
I really enjoyed it - it’s to the point. Hits all the right spots and gives you a look at how these two very special characters came to be.
