In the Enchanted Trials, Vivilyn has realized she knows nothing. The Trials are almost over. As Vivilyn and Co are split up to return to their homes in the aftermath of the plague, they see first hand the devastation it caused. They've all lost someone. Hearts are broken. But the world must go on, as must the Trials. Now that Aiden has narrowed it down to his final seven, he is allowed to take them each on a two week adventure with no cameras involved. Will the secrets he reveals change how Vivilyn views not only him, but the entire kingdom?
This was fine, it moved along at an even pace, but it was just filler. It felt like the middle book to get you from one point to the other without much substance. Three-quarters of the book were nothing of consequence. She goes home, they reunite and mourn, the town gets fixed up. The last quarter of the book it was great, and I feel like that should’ve had more focus on it.
Once again, this book ends with a cliffhanger that feels more like the end of a chapter rather than a book. To the point where the first chapter in the next book literally picks up down to the last second of this book. I still want to know how things end, but it feels like every time I get to take a step forward, I turn around and take two back.
