Jag Peters has one goal in his quiet comfortable life—to keep his karma slate wiped clean. A near-miss crash with a candy apple red Harley threatens to upend his safe world. He tracks down the rider to apologize properly. Slipping into a seedy biker bar, he discovers the rider isn't a "he", it's a "she", a dark-haired beauty. Rena Jett is a troubled soul, who lives in a rough world. She wants no part of Jag's apology, but even while she pushes him away, she is attracted to him. When he claims to see a ghost—her brother—can she trust him? And could her brother's final gift, a magical rune stone with the symbol for "happily ever after" have the power to heal her wounds and allow opposites to find common ground—perhaps even love?
Jan Sikes writes compelling and creative stories from the heart. She openly admits that she never set out in life to be an author. But she had a story to tell. Not just any story, but a true story that rivals any fiction creation. The entertaining true story comes to life through fictitious characters in an intricately woven tale that encompasses four books.
And now, this author can’t find a way to put down the pen. She continues to write fiction and has published numerous award-winning short stories. She published her debut paranormal romance novel, Ghostly Interference, Book 1 in The White Rune Series, in 2020, which won a bronze medal award from Reader’s Favorite. Jagged Feathers releases January 31, 2022, as Book 2 of that series, and Saddled Hearts will release later in 2022.
She is an active blogger, an avid fan of Texas music, and a grandmother of five. She resides in North Texas.
I’m speechless, just speechless, usually I know what I’m going to write about in a review, but as I reflect back over this astounding book, I’m just left memorized!!!!
Jan Sikes is an amazing author, I’ve read all of her published books and have loved each and everyone of them. Ghostly Interference has left me with so many emotions.
Jag and Jett were the perfect “opposites attract couple”, each needed the other, but neither knew until their paths crossed. When Jag barely escaped hitting Rena on her Harley, he knew he needed to find her and apologize. Little did either of them know, Karma and a ghostly interference was aligning their destiny, future, and lives together.
Jan Sikes ability to have her readers feel every emotion her character’s are feeling, is a testament to her amazing writing style. If you read only one book this coming year, I highly recommend it be Ghostly Interference! It is a book that will stay with me a lifetime.
"Ghostly Interference" unravels the tale of the unlikely meeting between self-described computer nerd Jag Peters and biker chick Rena Jett after Jag nearly runs her candy-apple red Harley off the road while driving his car. He thinks it's a guy, so he follows the bike to a biker bar to apologize for his negligence. He walks into the bar and discovers he's way out of his element (make that WAY OUT OF HIS ELEMENT) and realizes that the biker in question is a tiny, feisty woman named Rena Jett. He's automatically intrigued with her and doesn't quite understand why. They obviously come from vastly different worlds. She's mouthy and even obnoxious to him as he makes an attempt to apologize for his absentminded driving. They exchange words--not always pleasant--and as he attempts to leave the bar, he's followed by two aggressive bikers, one nicknamed Buffalo, who will show up later in the story. Jag sees a soldier in full camo battle gear, complete with a rifle, near his car and wonders what that means. Just as Buffalo is ready to get to Jag and beat him to a pulp, something happens. Apparently, the mysterious soldier kicked Buffalo's proverbial butt just in time.
As the intrigue between Rena and Jag grows, Jag learns that Rena and her brother Sam had been given up as kids by their mother and tossed around in foster care. Rena has secrets she doesn't want to reveal, leading to trust issues. Sam was her rock and he was killed in Afghanistan by a roadside bomb. Jag wonders: Was he the soldier who saved him from what could have been a brutal attack from biker Buffalo?
The author skillfully weaves a tale of people who come together despite being from two different worlds, facing unpredictable obstacles with the help sometimes of people on earth and a person who cannot rest in his grave unless he makes sure his sister has someone to love. Rena's not the only one with secrets, as Jag's seemingly calm earth mother, who's an expert gardener and yoga teacher, has a few of her own.
I have read two of Jan Sikes's other books, and I simply could not put this one down. Her ability to weave plot with language is enchanting. I found two things that hit home to me. One of the metaphor of someone being as excited "as a banty rooster," which was an expression my late grandmother used to say, the other was that Jag's "birthday" was October 8, which is the same as my son's. Coincidence? You as the reader should decide.
“Ghostly Interference” is Ms. Sikes’ debut fictional novel. I’ve read all her memoirs and short stories and have loved them, so I was excited about this book. It didn’t disappoint with the drama and otherworldly presence. My favorite character was Rena, a hard-working waitress who rides a red Harley. I had to warm up to Jag, who was cautious and in an unpleasant situation at work. Luckily, his mother had left him open to excepting otherworldly experiences. Both characters grew, and their interactions had a nice spark. The realistic details put into the story really captured what it’s like to ride on a motorcycle, along with a glimpse into the music world. This is not only a steamy romance, but it gives the characters room to become who they are, with a paranormal nudge. The end had me on the edge of my seat, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes. A well-written tale that I recommend.
Ghostly Interference by Jan Sikes is a story about people who have suffered terrible abuse and loss in their life. Rena Jett was raised in foster homes where she was abused horribly. Her brother Sam was the one link in life to find shelter and love. Unfortunately, he was killed by a roadside bomb serving in the military. Rena was left shattered and broken. Along comes Jag Peters, who is reeling from a boss who deceived him, causing him to start his career over. He just can’t get the biker babe off his mind. They begin their journey to find completeness, trust, and love. Sam, her ghostly brother, finds peace knowing Jena is loved and taken care of. This book has many layers built within it. There are many characters to meet and enjoy how they are intertwined in the story. It is passionate, defensive, and riveting to the end.
Ghostly Interference is an unusual romance between a middle class young man who has a good career in the IT industry, and a young girl who has had an unfortunate childhood and is now on her own with no family. Why I say it is unusual is that the young man, Jag, is not particularly happy in his chosen job, but is trapped by its perceived safety factor.
Jag has other talents and desires which he has swept under the carpet in his determination to play it safe and have a reliable income. It takes an unexpected encounter with Rena, a woman with a wild and free spirit, to help him along the path towards happiness and fulfilment. This is quite different from the traditional Cinderella style of romance where the poor, unhappy woman is saved by the rich and handsome prince.
There is a supernatural element in this romance but it is not scary or alarming. Rather, it is comforting in it's message that our love never ends completely and our loved ones remain spiritually on the prereferral of our lives, watching over us.
I really enjoyed Jag as a character. He was cautious, reliable, but stuck in a rut. It was fun to watch him unwind and start to live life and discover passion, enthusiasm, and freedom. An unfortunate incident with his female boss, who is very obviously attracted to him, proves to be an enabler that allows him to break free from the trap of his well-paid job. This part made me wonder how many people remain in well paid jobs all their lives because they are scared to take a chance and try something different.
Rena is a interesting character. She has experienced the worst life has to offer, right down to losing her only brother who is the rock in her life. The author did a terrific job of making the reader really care about Rena and feel great sadness that she had experienced so much hardship and suffering as a child. Her journey to trusting Jag and gradually allowing herself to experience love and faith is very touching.
This book also touches in a natural way on some serious topics such as child abuse and discrimination. These sub-themes are not preachy or obvious, but are presented subtly in a way that gives the reader food for thought.
This is a passionate love story with a gentle paranormal theme running through it. Whilst the central characters are Jag and Rena and is about the development of their relationship, the story also has other players who also create interest and mystery.
The author has done a great job of creating the world that they all inhabit and you almost feel that you are riding pillion on a motorcycle, tapping your toes to the music and seeing something faintly familiar in the shadows.
There is also plenty of action as the lives of others intrude into the love story, and the author does not shy away from writing about tough issues such as domestic violence and life in the foster care system, both relevant to background story and as the plot evolves.
There are some terrific twists and turns in the story that keep you guessing and turning the pages.
I have no hesitation is recommending the book to lovers of well written romance, paranormal and family sagas.
Jag Peters is a bit of a goodie-two-shoes nerd who grew up in an emotionally healthy family. He falls hard for biker/waitress Rena Jett, a woman with a troubled past who doesn’t trust anyone or believe that life will ever be kind. Though Jag’s attraction is immediate, it takes some time for Rena to warm up to him. Rena’s brother Sam, a soldier, died in Afghanistan, and his ghost makes it clear to Jag that he wants his sister to be happy.
Three-quarters of the book is romance with a capital R, focused on the growing relationship. There’s little conflict as the characters get to know and trust each other. Two aspects of Jag’s life get some extra text—his musical abilities and the music scene, and the “new age” spiritual beliefs he’s gained from his mother. There’s some graphic sex, but the majority of the read is Jag simply being thoughtful and nice. He’s almost too perfect, and for that reason, I found Rena a more compelling character.
The story takes a turn in the last quarter, flipping into some great action as Jag and Rena become involved in helping a friend in danger. Both of them shine as they risk their lives to save the day. This last part of the story zips by after the casual pace getting to this point. Recommended to readers who enjoy basking in romance and watching a relationship grow.
The worlds of a Jag Peters and Rena Jett collide when he nearly crashes into her motorcycle in Ghostly Interference by Jan Sikes. When Jag tracks down Rena's candy apple red Harley at a corner pub so he can apologize to her, he is instantly attracted to the spitfire, dark-hair beauty. They are nothing alike. A computer programmer, Jag avoids risks while Rena is a brash waitress who appears fearless. Nonetheless, it is as though "the Universe had strange ways of bringing two souls together." After meeting Rena, Jag strangely glimpses a ghostly figure in camouflage military attire at various times. As his relationship develops with Rena, he discovers that beneath her hard facade is a lonely girl with a troubled past and that her brother, Sam, had recently died in combat in Afghanistan. Jag wonders if the ghost is Rena's brother who has stayed to protect and to assure her happiness. Her brother's last gift to Rena is a magical rune, symbolizing "happily ever after," that helps tie their past and present together in a climactic ending.
Author Jan Sikes has written a romance with paranormal elements that will resonate with readers. For romance readers, there are some steamy scenes that will make your heart pound harder. Yet, there are more layers to the story, which on the surface seems a straight-forward romance. The following quote from the book resonated with me as I read the book: Live for today. Leave tomorrow alone. As for yesterday let it go. Rena needs to let go of the emotional scars she endured in abusive foster homes so that she can accept Jag's love and a family lost to her. Jag must recognize that he has found something that he never knew he lost.
The secondary characters are memorable and their backstories help drive the story. I particularly like Jag's mother, who made the ultimate sacrifice for her son so he could be raised in a stable family. We also learn about Sam whose soul can't leave his little sister until he knows that she is safe and that she can embrace happiness. Other secondary haracters from the Jag's and Rena's past also help them learn how to live for the moment and to find their true passions. The themes of forgiveness, redemption, and unconditional love are enhanced with the multi-layered backstories of the secondary characters. Lyrics from songs and the symbol of the rune add to the rich tapestry of the love story.
The universal themes in Ghostly Interference will resonate with readers on several levels after they finish the book. It is a memorable, multi-layer love story between two completely different people who help each other find his/her true identity and passion. Highly recommended.

Here's a paranormal romance that will rev your heart. Rena Jett's life took a sharp turn around an unexpected corner when she lost her beloved brother. They'd grown up together through the turmoils of a tough childhood. All she had left of him was a candy apple red harley, his dogtags, and memories. Rena is sure that life holds no joy ahead for her, no future. She can see nothing but darkness for her after the sudden, devastating loss. She hasn't counted on destiny, and the possibility of Ghostly Interference bringing help from beyond the grave. Yet, Rena will have to choose whether she's willing to accept the help and find how to alter her fatalistic course. Can Rena summon the courage to make the changes required so she can love, laugh and live again?
Jag Peters ran into Rena, literally, when he barely avoided driving his car into a direct crash with her as she rode her motorcycle. Their distinctly different lives collide as they get to know each other. It's not long before another man appears to Jag. Only Jag can see him, and he makes a ghostly impression. Rena doesn't see this man, she's scared to believe who he could be, but she most certainly does feel his presence. Jag figures out that he is her brother's spirit. A brother's devotion for his sister merges with a man's love for this tormented woman, and they combine efforts. They try to turn their care for Rena into a possibility for a new destiny. Rena is a troubled soul, and it seems unlikely they can successfully show her a way. And even if they can manage to show her, they can't create it for her. That's something only she can choose for herself. But will she?
Secrets can shade people's lives with illusions, and life is filled with surprises, good and challenging ones. Jag has no idea how his life is about to be turned upside down. He's never had to face the kind of unknowns that lay in wait for him. Will he learn from his experiences with Rena and her brother's spirit what he'll need to know in order to gain strength and acceptance? Could a brother's final gift uplift them both?
Award winning author Jan Sikes openly admits she never intended to be an author, but she had a story to tell. It was a true story that rivaled any fiction creation. She chose to create fictitious characters to tell her story, and they bring the intricately woven tale to life in such an entertaining way. It took four books to chronicle her incredible life with Texas singer/songwriter Rick Sikes. And she released a series of music CDs, one to accompany each of these books. This is a sizzling new paranormal romance written with such touching emotion. Ghostly Interference is the first book in the White Rune Series and Jan's debut fiction novel.

Ghostly Interference is more than a love story. It is a story full of passion, romance, heartbreaking loss, child abuse, paranormal activity, and how love can heal a broken spirit.
The two main characters, Jag Peters and Rena Jett, are from two different worlds. Jag has always lived a comfortable life with two parents while Rena was thrown into the state system without a mother and father. She was at the mercy of foster homes where she was abused and treated like less than human. Her only savior at that time was an older brother, Sam, who tried to keep her safe. This horrendous childhood broke her spirit and forced her to distrust anyone who tried to come close to her. When her brother died in the service in Afghanistan she felt as if she had died with him.
Jag meets Rena by nearly hitting her while she is driving her motorcycle. This incident begins their story. It is a passionate tale between them that heats up many times throughout the story.
The author created two characters with their own heartaches that touch your heart as they struggle to find love. The added paranormal touch of Rena’s brother’s spirit appearing brings the story full circle emphasizing that love transcends death.
I highly recommend this lovely story that will have you believing love heals all.
A beautiful story of hope and enduring love. I love stories that are unusual and veer from the normal books and this one certainly does. Jag Peters didn't have much of a chance of getting the wild biker babe, Rena Jett, but he saw how broken she was and had to try to fix her. Their love developed slowly as most real life relationships do and I applaud the author for that. In fact, I applaud Jan Sikes for finding a way to weave music seamlessly through a deep love story. And then there's the ghost. My heart broke for Rena's brother and I had tears in my eyes that he never got to return home to see her. If you want a story that will keep you riveted to the page, you should give this a try. I'm excited to see what's next for Sikes.
Romance? Check. Thrills? Check. Ghosts? Check. Hard to ask for more when the author's covered all the bases and then some.
Jan Sikes delivers everything I could ask for in this first-in-series paranormal romance. Heroine Rena Jett is a tough ice queen hiding a painful past and tender heart. It's not until fate intervenes and she meets hero Jag Peters that her armor starts to thaw. The secondary characters give us further insight into who these characters are and help round out the story. I'd have liked to have seen the tertiary characters developed a little more, but there are future books in the series and there's time for them to grow and us to get to know them better.
The villain of the piece could have used a little more page time, though I don't know how much of him I could tolerate. He was truly odious, and I thoroughly hated him with just the little bit of time we spent with him. Kudos to the author for creating such a despicable antagonist.
The paranormal part of the story is at once touching and fascinating. It left this reader with a lot to ponder regarding the power of runes and what happens in the afterlife. It was probably my favorite part of the story and will stick with me for a long time to come.
I'm glad to know this is a series. I'm interested to see what else lies in store with respect to the white runes and these characters.
I went into this book with no expectations, but knew I was in for an enjoyable ride. Sikes has created characters with depth based on their life experiences. This is particularly true with Rena. She has been through so much in her life and witnesses even more in this book. No wonder she's rough around the edges when Jag first meets her. This is a story about unconditional love, redemption, and healing. I'm looking forward to the next two books in the series.
Jag Peters and Rena Jett are the two main characters in this story. Its a story about finding each other and experiencing true love for the very first time. It’s also about karma and a ghost named Sam Jett, Rena’s brother who was killed while in the military. Jan writes like someone who really loves a love story and I like the way she starts a story that begins shaky but ends well. The tales don’t wait to the final chapters to have a good ending. It happens throughout the many chapters until near the end when Rena has a terrible accident that almost takes her from Jag. But even that ends well. Rena’s nick name from Jag was “Little Bit.” That was my nickname when I was a very tiny person. And so the term was endearing to me and further endeared me to the author’s writing. I also liked that Jag found his real father who was someone he admired all of his life. His dad, Damien, was a musician which happens to be Jag’s favorite occupation as well. All the right cliques were in this tale. And I didn’t find it corny either. Another good point for the author. What I didn’t like was the misplaced or missing words that helps a sentence make sense. It was more than could be overlooked so there definitely needs to be a re-edit.
This is a beautiful love story! A love story full of ups and downs, unlike most love stories I have read in recent times.
The meeting of Jag and Rena started as a near-death collision. A collision in which Jag’s car almost hit and drove Rena’s Harley motorcycle off the road. Rena sped off cursing without giving Jag the chance to apologize.
At that time, he did not know that the rider of the Harley was a girl. He knew that the collision's fault was his so, to keep his karma slate clean, he decided to find Rena and get her to forgive him.
He traced Rena in her popular hang-out at the O’Malleys’ Irish Pub and made peace with Rena. But she turned out to be an irate and cagy young woman, determined to make Jag pay for his mistake. She did not care for any reason he had to approach her. She did not especially care or believe in karmas. Jag persisted. His persistence gradually helped Rena to open up to him.
Rena did not believe that she can ever be loved. She considered herself a damaged good. When she remembered what she had been through, she would shudder and close up. Jag still held on, believing that his love for her will eventually prevail. And in the end, it did.
The story was full of secrets and surprises. Rena’s brother, Sam, who died in Afghanistan's war, kept showing himself to Jag. Jag believed that Sam and his own personal angels colluded in bringing him and Rena together. Jag secretly investigates Rena’s background to know whether she had some family out there. Jag’s mother reunited with Damien, an old flame who will turn out to be more than just an old flame. That was the aha! Moment.
As I said before, this is a beautiful love story. I came across some editing errors that I must say did not take anything from the story, but I hope the author would go back and clean up for the story's sake.
Author Jan Sikes launches her first book in The White Rune Series with a riveting tale of paranormal, metaphysical, and romantic interactions. She skillfully weaves a story with multiple subplots that help illustrate her characters' growth.
Jag Peters wants to keep his karma straight and is willing to go the extra mile to meet that goal. When he nearly runs over a biker riding a cherry red Harley, he takes action to find the rider.
Rena Jett is a troubled soul who grew up fast in foster care with her brother. Sam's recent death has forced her to keep all her emotions and trust closed off from the world. She only trusts her Harley. When Jag locates the rider in a seedy biker bar and sees a ghost, he decides to fix the mar on his karma. Rena discounts Jag's apology and refuses to believe he is sincere.
The character development is well done, with an emphasis on Rena and Jag. They have baggage that, like a wound, needs to be opened and doctored to overcome. The journey they take is hardly smooth, with tender scenes, difficult conversations, and terrifying danger.
However, my favorite character is Charlotte, Jag's mom. Charlotte, or Charley as she prefers to be called, is attuned to the earth and spirits metaphysically. Charley's only son, Jag, is her pride and joy without crowding him or his decisions. I particularly liked open communications between mother and son, laced with a connectedness that is masterfully described.
" Although he lived in an apartment behind his mother's house, he frequently took her up on offers for a home-cooked meal. Tonight, he looked forward to sharing details of his crazy afternoon with her. Fifteen minutes later, he perched on a stool at the kitchen counter while Charlotte Peters put the finishing touches to vegetarian lasagna. She hummed a classic rock song from the sixties. Jag never ceased to be amazed at how his mother held her beauty even in her mid-forties, with slender frame and long blonde hair she kept tied back in a ponytail or in a braid. And, although he didn't mention it, he often wondered why she hadn't remarried after his dad died. She slid the lasagna into the oven and handed him a chilled water. "You look like you've had a day. Wanna talk about it?" Jag waved away the bottle. "Can I have a glass of wine instead?" She nodded and turned to retrieve a bottle of Cabernet and two glasses. "How do you do it, Mom?" She raised her eyebrows. "Do what?" "Always know when things are out of sync with me." A smile spread across her face. "You forget I can read your aura, dear. You normally have a lot of yellow and pink around you but today there is red and orange. It's really quite simple."
The details of small-town Texas and the surrounding areas are accurate. Author Sikes paints the scenes and interactions invoking all five senses. The descriptions and interactions with Sam, romance between characters, and musical details kept me glued to the pages. The surprising twists and turns, along with the nail-biting ending, are worth every moment. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more of this series. Well-done!
Jan Stiles’ new novel, Ghostly Interference, is an interesting combination of romance, suspense and paranormal, though readers may be surprised with the mix. If readers come in search of major “woo-hoo” in this narrative, they’ll likely not find it. What they will find is an intriguing love story involving an unusual pair of lovers and a tale peppered with some slow-burning suspense with scattered, but effective ghostly appearances. There is much to savor in this story from the vivid descriptions of the rides aboard a candy apple red Harley to the enchanting pastoral scenes in the countryside to interesting minor characters like the slightly eccentric, almost hippy Charlie and the crotchety diner owner, Corky. What I enjoyed most was Stiles’ choice for the story’s unlikely romantic partners. The two of her creation—Jag Peters, the geeky but kinda handsome IT guy, who also has a musical side and Rena Jett, the streetwise girl, now woman, who hangs out on the fringe of a biker bar—are both fish-out-of-water characters and fit the “opposites attract” trope well. But from the collision of their meeting to the on-again, off-again courtship to the almost perilous conclusion, Stiles tells the tale from the alternating POVs of Jag and Rena, which only pulls the reader in more to the inner and outer struggles of both characters, romantic and otherwise. Rather than the tall, dark and handsome typical male hero, Jag is an unlikely protagonist, whose attractions, both physical and emotional, linger below the surface, waiting to be released. Rena is no runway model and is more than a little rough around the edges. Having been burned many times and in many ways before, she has erected a very effective fence around her life and her heart and gives little attention to what others think of her. In short, both have their own share of baggage, which the author takes her time unpacking. Still, Stiles weaves the tale of their interaction in a way that readers will likely fall for the couple as much as Jag and Rena fall for each other. While not a major part of the narrative, the “interference” by the ghost of Rena’s brother, who died fighting in Afghanistan, adds some poignant moments, reveals Rena’s vulnerability, and conveys the honor of her brother’s ultimate sacrifice, especially through her grief. Even those not “into ghosts” will likely appreciate these ßintrusions. If readers are looking for a love story with credible characters who have their own share of problems and aren’t afraid to accept help—even when it comes from a ghost--then they will find the ride of Ghostly Interference right up their alley.
I always find it interesting to read something that isn’t within my normal genre and discover new stories. Ghostly Interference (The White Rune Series) being a romance doesn’t fit into my norm, while the ghost part does. I enjoyed the world that Jan created with Jag and Rena and their almost deadly first encounter. For me, the ghost of Sam could’ve been more frightening at the beginning, but that’s not what this story was about.
Throughout the book, Jag and Rena become their better selves, allowing the other to make them stronger. These characters are very well developed and strong, making them feel real as I read. Even the harassment part of the story seemed like something that has happened in real life.
This story wasn’t just fabulous, it was completely unexpected. First of all, the author has taken the traditional roles and reversed them. We have our heroine, Rena Jett, the tough biker scarred by a tragic past and determined to stand alone. Then our hero, Jag Peters, is a computer geek who’s struggling with sexual harassment in the workplace. But, one rule holds true – opposites attract. The character development with these two is amazing. They learn and grow from each other throughout. The Biker line usually turns me off. Many authors write entire series’ about MCs and I have to wonder if they’ve ever been on a bike, let alone known a member of an actual club. (My family has history.) Sikes doesn’t go there. I appreciate that. Then, there’s the paranormal aspect. The ghost of Rena’s late brother, Sam, isn’t overly intrusive, but he makes his presence known at the right times. How he communicates with the living characters is more believable than in most ghost stories. This story has sub-plots galore, but each one ties in and has a purpose. One part worried me – when Jag’s family secret was revealed. I thought to myself, “Oh no, too predictable.” However, it goes on to be a good part of the overall story. Here’s where I have to add a warning to the reader. If you’re just looking for hearts and flowers this isn’t that book. Parts of the characters' past and what happens in the present are sometimes raw and gritty including sexual abuse, kidnapping, motorcycle accident, and gun violence. It may have triggers for some of you. Personally, I thought the author did a great job of relaying these events. I appreciate realism. This book doesn’t only get a solid five stars from me; it’s one of the few I’ll keep to read again.
Jag was driving one day not paying attention when he almost ran over a bike and to him he had to make sure he said sorry and keep his karma clean. But when he found the biker he was a she and she had a military man not far away with a rifle but later found out it was her brother that died recently. RENA WAS raised in the system and had no family except her dead brother over a few months things changed instantly and by the end it was shocking. This book is really good and you really will get hooked on it fast.
This i the first book in The White Rune series and not only is a new series but also a new author for me and I have to tell you I was impressed This is a story that has so many layers but they all work brilliantly together to form a story that will draw you in until you turn that last page
Jag Peters almost kills a biker and as he is a big believer in Karma he tracks them down to apologise what he doesn't expect is that the rider would be a woman. Jan Sikes's fast-moving story has multiple interesting storylines with Rena and Jag uncovering past secrets that they know nothing about from their past. I enjoyed her colorful and well-defined characters. I rarely read books from the romance genre, but this one was well worth the time invested.
I enjoyed this story. It is at times sweet, tragic, heartbreaking and steamy. The white rune was a nice touch and really added to the story. Loved the ending. I received a n advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and freely leave this honest review.
What an awesome read this book was. I've read several of January Sikes books and they just get better and better!
Jag and Jett are polar opposites in their current life situations and they grew up in completely different worlds as well. Therefore, their paths crossing was purely accidental, or was it... They actually did cross paths when Jag almost struck Jett down when she was on her candy apple red Harley. Jag has been on a mission to not leave any chances for Karma to come back and bite him so he knew he had to track down Jett and apologize for their near miss. As time passes we begin to realize that not only Fate has brought them together but a Spirit is calling some of the shots because he can't rest in peace until he knows Jett is happy and safe.
Jett puts up walls around herself in order to never be hurt by any kind of friendship or relationship again in her life. She is avoiding any kind of loss even if it means her life is merely existence- work to home and repeat. Jag is determined to pull down those walls so he and the rest of the world can see the true Jett. The Jett he gets glimpses of from time to time. Jag is drawn to Jett from their first encounter and he knows that are meant to be together. Now he just has to hang in there until Jett's walls come down and she realizes their Fate is that they belong together.
A truly amazing read that will make you wish you had this type of ghostly interference from someone you lost in your past. Heartfelt, heartwarming and down right good read.
I don't read love stories and took a chance on Ghostly Interference because the story included bikers and a ghost. The story flowed smoothly and I was hooked before reaching the end of the first chapter.
It begins when Jag, an IT nerd, nearly hits a biker with his car. He is a strict believer of Karma and wants to keep things on the straight and narrow. Jag chases after the rider and finally locates the Harley parked outside of a biker bar; the rider, Rena Jett, turned out to be a 'drop dead, gorgeous, biker babe' with an attitude. It was clear right from the start that they were from different worlds, yet, something attracted them to one another.
Shortly after this encounter, Jag sees a ghost - he's seen others in the past. Turns out this ghost is Rena's deceased brother who was recently killed in Afghanistan. It soon becomes clear that "Sam" wants Jag to help Rena get through her nightmares and trust issues of her abused and tormented upbringing while raised in the Foster Care system. But there was something else Sam needed to say to her...
As readers meet other characters, the love between Jag and Rena grows. There are several 'hot' sex scenes in the story but the author doesn't turn it into a pornographic exhibition, and it is nicely done.
There are many surprises uncovered in the story as well as some 'sit on the edge of your seat' suspense. In Ghostly Interference, everyone gets their wish - except for Rena's boss - and lives happily ever after. Well worth a chance and highly recommended for those who want to see what real love is like.
