Her Favorite Color Was Sunshine Yellow

Rate this book
Amanda Karch's debut poetry collection is for the romance lovers of the world. This book of love poems takes you on the journey of ups and downs that accompanies a relationship — the heartbreak of missing someone you love and the happiness that is strongest when you are together. Centered around a long distance relationship, with the majority of the poems written while hundreds of miles apart, Karch weaves together a love story centered around emotion and vulnerability, told through two distinct sections of poetry.

108 pages of raw feelings and truth-telling make this collection a read you don't want to put down. If you have ever been in love, you will find a home within these pages. For the romantics, the lovers, the ones in long distance relationships, and the ones who feel like a mile is too far away — this book of love poems is made for you.

Because, no matter the distance, the feeling of sunshine yellow is always there.

An amazing poetry collecting about being in love and being in a long distance relationship. Amanda had me craving that giddy feeling of having a crush and falling in love. The way she described being in love and loving someone was beautiful. And I love how she weaved the title and the 'sunshine' feels into her poems and that last one was amazing.

This book is a beautiful collection of love poems. Every writer struggles to weave words together trying to define the impossible - love. Amanda does such a beautiful job of finding the right words every time, of painting the right picture so you can really feel what she feels. Each poem is hint of happiness that you can't help but find yourself smiling along with. I loved every page of this poetry collection, and I would definitely recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how she put together her love for her partner as a color, and I feel like that color really represents the love she has for them. Very cute book.

I haven’t read any poems in a while and I discovered it while browsing and I’m so happy that I picked it up because it was beautiful. The poems are very romantic and emotional and just stunning. Often elements like the ocean are incorporated and that made them even more gorgeous. I also highlighted a lot in it and can only highly recommend it.

I adored this book. While I was reading it all I could think about was the love I have for my partner in life. I actually am going to buy it for him for a gift. He likes poetry as well. I think the book has a beautiful way of putting emotions into words. It’s often hard sometimes to make sense of our emotions and find the words to express them. I read this book so quick and I’ll continue to reread it every so often. I think the author did an amazing job at expressing love in a different ways opening the mind to see it all differently, all around you.
