AUSTIN RYAN was born and raised in Norway, she has no previous experience hunting for magical cats in the English countryside, but after a childhood of desperately longing to be English, she accidentally wrote a novel about a wealthy heiress, a magical library, and the opportunistic dock-worker both author and heroine falls madly in love with. The Fairshaw Library is her second full-length novel.

Austin lives in Connecticut, surrounded by overflowing bookshelves, Christmas lights, and sparkly things.

When she is not editing words for other authors, getting lost in their stories, or writing her own, you can find her on adventures with her very favorite child, painting things that don’t need to be painted, and spending hours down by the ocean.

What to even say about this book?

It fills me with so much happy- I adore the character, the situation they get themselves into is great, and the way Norwegian culture is woven so seamlessly into the tale is stunning. The emotions are also so perfect- there are so many little lines that are just so full of longing and are heartbreakingly beautiful. It's a very quick read, but filled with so much. It's light-hearted, but deep, a feel good book that's also a little haunting. It's the perfect balance of fluff and depth and I adore it with every fiber of my being ❤️

These characters, and their story, hold my heart. I've had the privilege of reading this book three times already and I'm certainly going to be reading it again ❤️❤️❤️

An endearing holiday romance that provides insight into Norwegian family & holiday culture (& food!). The relationship between Ragnhild and Thorleif squeezed my heart with best feels! This is the exact feel-good warmth you need this holiday season!

I was privileged to receive an advance digital copy. No expectation for a review required.

“Thorleif wanted to kiss her until she realized that she didn’t need to beg for the crumbs of another man’s love.
Until she realized his was given freely.”

THIS WAS SO CUTE ❤️ Ryan’s books are always pure serotonin and give me so many happy, fuzzy feelings. Jenni Sauer has been telling me for months to bump this book up my tbr list and read it immediately. She was right - I adored it. ❤️

The cutest holiday read ever!

Warning! Might make you hungry.

Austin gives us the story of Ragnhild and Thorleif, best friends since their infancy. But this time they're brought closer for a higher purpose, utterly important for Ragnhild, and Thorleif can't say no to her.
What they don't expect is to finally acknowledge buried feelings for each other!
Austin's novella is impressively descriptive, to the point that the mention of the dishes that are about to be eaten in the book will have your stomach growling and you'll feel the warmth from the fireplace going inside their homes.

Sigh, amazing. Bravo! I witnessed Austin pouring her entire energy to bring this sweet story to life and I couldn't be more proud! I need more words girl!

This book made me hungry. Not going to lie—the cozy holiday vibe had me wanting to burrow into this book and snack. This book is ridiculous and sweet. I can’t handle the author. She makes me smile.

It's a quick read that I enjoyed while catching up on my yearly reading goal. I appreciated the Norwegian details woven in the story from the use of actual Norwegian language to the food and traditions found in any typical Norwegian home .
