Two years after abruptly leaving his residency in America—and the woman he was falling hard for—Nicolas Frederick Hansen, billionaire and Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia, is focused on making his country’s pediatric hospital the best in the world. When Nic lost his brother years ago, he drowned his pain in work—and found purpose in following in his brother’s footsteps into pediatric medicine. He adores children, though he’s nowhere near ready to have his own.
When former flame Summer Rand shows up at his hospital for a fellowship program, she’s astounded to find that the man who’d cloaked himself in secrecy, and left her without warning, is none other than a Crown prince! Nic’s equally shocked—to learn he has a son named Harry. Determined to make it work, they agree to focus on their child… and the passion that they could never deny. But it isn’t long before dreams of being the perfect family clash with the intense career demands in Nic’s life.
Will he be able to make this royal romance work? Or will he lose his shot at a future—and the family—he never thought he could have?
USA Today Bestseller Leslie North invites you to indulge in a steamy billionaire romance with an unforgettable bad boy billionaire and the smart-talking woman who tames him…
New to Leslie? Readers suggest starting with 'The Bossy One' (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6BP3BBF) —Imagine a sunny Minnesotan Mary Poppins, employed by a grumpy Irish billionaire. The story is a blend of humor, revenge, passion, heartbreak, hope, and witty banter. As one reader put it, ‘This story had me squealing at the romantic moments and silly moments.’

In fact, she confesses to loving her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her everyday self! Her bestselling books are known for their strong characters, particularly women who aren’t afraid to challenge an alpha bosshole. And the humor? So infectious, you’ll be laughing out loud in public!
Leslie’s love for romance began when she picked up a worn-out romance book from her local library. She started writing soon after, and as they say, the rest was history. She now resides in a cozy cottage on the British coast, enjoying long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
She LOVES reader feedback, and if you have any comments, don’t hesitate to contact her!
Okay read with minimal word development and a predictable outcome. The sweetness of the story is what saved the star rating for me because how their romance began and how it continues for a second chance was touching.
Summer and Nic met when they were doing their residencies. They spent time together until Nic suddenly disappeared and Summer discovered she was pregnant with no way to contact him.
Two years later, Summer takes a fellowship in a different country and finds Nic again. She learns he is the Crown Prince, and he learns he has a son, Harry. But he is overwhelmed with his duties to the crown, his country, and to his medical career. Adding even more is not handled well. Will he choose all the other “priorities” before his new family? Will he lose her once again? And maybe this time, forever?

Like :
I liked Rachel and the fact that Summer had someone she could count on. Also, loved that how successful Summer had became with so many hardship thrown in her ways. Love that cutie toddler.
Dislike :
I hated the fact all Summer's sensibility seemed to disappear when it came to Nic. She became a spineless woman who couldn't figure out what was good for her or what was bad. Because after Nic broke things off without so much as to explain about his whereabouts, she just took him back as soon as he asked to be in her life. He didn't even try to earn her trust or forgiveness. Not that she asked because as long as she could get some who needed anything else, right? Note the sarcasm. Nic, on the other hand, kept saying he needed to earn her forgiveness and yet did nothing except put his work life before his own family. He did nothing about her at all and when she spilled about her past, wanna know what he said?
"Good night, Summer," he said, spooning against her. "I'm glad you're here."
Yeah, he didn't show her for once how glad he was. Because he never spent time with her minus the boning and his son. I also hated to the way he was treating his own child. I know what he went through was hard, but that baby didn't deserve this treatment. Throughout the whole book, he never for once put his family first. Ever. Then all of a sudden he had a change of heart and decided he didn't wanna lose Summer, before the epilogue? Wow. And guess what? Summer forgave him as soon as he apologized. so technically, to sum their whole relationship up, it's 'Nic messed up, Summer confronting him, he apologized and swore to never do it again, repeat. Ugh. At one point, I just didn't care. Fuck them both.
Overall, it had the potential but because of the lack of character development, it turned out to be a disappointment. The writing style was good though. But I didn't enjoy the lead characters obviously.
For good or for bad, each individual is shaped by the experiences of his or her childhood. For beautiful hazel-eyed and honey-blonde haired Summer Rand, her happy, loved and loving childhood, ended far too quickly and abruptly when her parents, both doctors, were killed almost instantly when a drunken driver lost control of his car and plowed directly into their car. Unfortunately for the young girl, her loss was amplified when, with no relatives to take the heartbroken girl into their homes, she became a ward of the state. Summer lived with the hope of adoption, but her age and the unexpected circumstances of potential parents prevented her from being adopted. And so, she lived under the care of the State of California until at 18, she aged out of protective services, gained access to her parents’ funds and as an independent adult, and entered college with the goal of following her parents’ footsteps to become a doctor, and one day, create her own family.
The life of Nicolas Frederick Hansen, billionaire and Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia, was not quite the life of a fairytale. While growing up a prince with loving and doting parents, he was not spared the pains of life. Through the vagaries of genetics, Nic’s beloved and brilliant younger brother, Tom, inherited Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness which led to the younger brother’s death in his teens. Tom’s death changed Nic’s life choices forever. He determined to live the life dreams of both himself and his younger brother. And so, he prepared himself for his expected role of monarch, while also seeking to pursue Tom’s dream of becoming a doctor. And now, in his 30’s having completed his medical studies, internship and residency in pediatric medicine and surgery, he will soon return home to Mynia to do his best to keep up with the political and medical demands of his dual paths.
And by chance Summer Rand does find love in the arms of another resident, Nic Thomas. But, when Nic leaves without notice, Summer learns that “Nic Thomas” was not her lover’s real name—and she has no pathway to find him. But, fate isn’t done with either Summer or Nic. Having met each other during their residency years—the beginning of Summer’s and the end of Nic’s—the two connected in a powerful, but brief affair, which ended when without notice—or ever giving Summer his full name—Nic was called home to Mynia.
Now, 2 years later, the medical lovers are reunited in Mynia by chance when Summer is accepted for a fellowship at the island-state’s very modern and well-equipped and highly-regarded hospital. The two former lovers are surprisingly and unexpectedly reunited. And, it is difficult to determine which lover was more surprised—Summer to learn that her lover was a prince, or Nic to discover that he has a son—a young boy who looks exactly as he and his brother had looked at the age of 18 months—bright and engaged with electric blue eyes and dark hair.

This is a second chance romance with strong characters in Summer and Nic. Having had a short romance before he leaves , she's left with a baby and can't find him to tell him. Two years later they meet again when she discovers he's not only a Doctor but also the Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia. The author does a great job building their relationship and I loved watching them come together. The story moves fluidly with her detailed and descriptive writing and delivers another terrific read. Loved and recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
High angst and big emotions made this a bit of a roller-coaster read. Both Nic and Summer are carrying some deep wounds from their childhoods that they haven’t fully dealt with. Will they be able to help one another heal their hurts, or will the baggage just weigh them down, stopping their relationship from having a fighting chance? I really liked these characters, even though their stubborn insistence on clinging to what was hurting them made me want to pull my hair out from the roots. And now that we’ve met the best friends, I’m hoping to see them in books of their own. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
A very light, very sweet fairy tale of a romance! Both characters have losses in their pasts that shape the choices they make, but both are also fundamentally kind people with loving and supportive friends and family willing to help them on their way. The king and queen were especially cute and heartwarming.
This goes down so easy--I finished it in one rainy afternoon. The writing is solid, clear, and respects the reader's intelligence even while telling a confection of a story. Appreciate it for what it is and enjoy a very pleasant diversion!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Nicolas Frederick Hansen, Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia was doing his medical residency in California when he met Summer Rand. They had a short affair together before, he rushed back to Mynia to help set new medical policy leaving Summer behind with a fake name and pregnant. Sixteen months later Summer showed up in Mynia to do a fellowship at their state of the art pediatric hospital. One of the first doctors she saw on staff was Nic. When he learned, she had a son, and it was his, he wanted to see the child and get to know him. Then he wanted to make arrangements for his parents to meet Harry. Suummer was flabbergasted that Nic turned out to be a prince. She still was not going to fall at his feet, he had left her once. She would not open her heart up so fast again. Everyone she had ever loved before had always left her, she had to think about Harry too. Nic promised, they would go slow, but she still agreed to move into his home with separate rooms. Nic worked long hours at the hospital and then came home and worked even more hours for the crown. He hardly ever got any sleep. He never bothered to tell her if he was called back into the hospital, needed to work a double shift, or if they made plans that he could not keep. He just was not there. Everyone said he was so dependable, but not for her and Harry. All Nic could think was he was the Crown Prince, he owed dedication to the people of his country, and he promised his younger brother, Tom when he died that he would become a doctor for him to help make a difference in children's lives, so he was trying to fulfill his life and his brother's life both. Maybe there was not time for a family. Neither one were very good about opening up about their past. Nic did not know Summer's parents were killed in an accident, when was thirteen putting her in foster care. Nic did not tell Summer anything about his brother, in fact she did not even know he had a sibling for the longest time. They had incredible chemistry together, but the Prince had the hardest head. He had the worst case of tunnel vision, and how he did not clasp from exhaustion I am not sure. The hours he was keeping no one could keep up very long until he would start making mistakes and falling asleep or become ill. This was a modern day take on romance with a crown prince. A prince could have a career as well as run the country, have an heir out of wedlock with a career woman. This woman could survive very nicely without a man as she was strong and independent. It was an emotional read as both these people had worked extremely hard to get where they were against great odds in many ways, but they showed non-stop internal determination.

The Billionaire Prince’s Surprise Son begins the Undercover Princes series with a solid romance that captured my imagination and my attention rather quickly. My world is so far removed from billionaires or royalty that it’s always a fun adventure to watch people from all walks of life fall in love with all of its complications whether a prince or the guy down the block.
Nic and Summer’s romance is complicated, to say the least. They met when Nic was doing his residency in a California hospital and had an intense affair which left Summer pregnant. She had no idea that he was royalty or so unbelievably rich since Nic had used an incognito personality while in the country for several logical reasons. Summer had no way to contact Nic about their child because he had suddenly disappeared leaving no contact information behind. This second chance romance becomes even more complicated when Summer (and their son, Harry) show up at Nic’s prestigious hospital where Summer is entering the fellowship program. Sparks are about to fly between these two and not always the sizzling sexy ones either.
I enjoyed The Billionaire Prince’s Surprise Son, yet I also have to say that Nic frustrated me to no end throughout this story. He’s not a bad guy at all, but his actions are often thoughtless and even self-centered at times. Running this hospital in the way he promised his brother he would with devotion and care took time away from everything else in life – and then there is the fact that he is a Crown Prince which means he has a country full of citizens to tend to as well. Leaving very little time for himself or the woman he does love and their sweet son. His schedule would exhaust any lesser man. It took a while, but eventually, Nic gets his priorities straight… but not before he almost loses the two people who are the most precious to him in his life.
Summer is a strong woman, she’s had to be, and I adored her and little Harry. There was so much that neither knew about the other, things that really mattered in understanding why certain actions happened, proving that communication in any relationship is so very important. It was an emotional roller coaster of a ride watching this couple work through the differences, come to understand each other, and work toward that happy ending that this family so deserved. I had fun here, and I believe you would, too.

Secret baby meets second chance royal romance. Lots of different tropes mixed together in a fun story.
Summer Rand is a medical intern specializing in pediatrics. Having lost her parents to a car accident early in her life she spent her formative years in foster care. Because of this she has a real passion for helping children.
Nicolas 'Nic' Frederick Hanson, Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia, is a medical intern at the same unit Summer is in. He lost his brother, Tom, at a young age and is determined to fulfil Tom's dream of becoming a doctor. He's in the US to gain experience to become the best and bring back important healthcare practices to his home country.
Summer and Nic have a short passionate romance. And it's not just physical. But Nic gets called home because there are pressing matters of the Crown. He severs his relationship with Summer suddenly. It isn't long before Summer discovers she's pregnant and spends two years attempting to find Nic. But he's left leaving no contact information. She's now a single parent.
They meet again when Summer has a short term residency at the pediatrics unit in Myria. All the mystery is revealed. Nic has a son, Harry. Nic reveals to Summer that he's the Prince. I was really surprised at how well Harry's presence was received by the Royal Family in Myria. The King and Queen were over the moon to have a grandchild and treated Summer with respect and compassion. The relationship Nic and Summer have with his parents is so functional; having lost her family at a young age, it's very touching to Summer.
Nic moves her into his house and they work at developing a relationship. But it turns out Nic is a workaholic. He's determined to be a full time doctor and a full time Prince and a father and partner. He's burning the candle at both ends. This doesn't work for Summer because he keeps canceling on her and Harry, not putting them first. He genuinely wants to but he doesn't know how to shift his priorities.
The internal struggles of Nic trying to follow his brother's dreams and Summer wanting to have a family come to a head forcing each character to make choices and overcome their pasts.
Well put together story, emotionally engaging. Definitely enjoyed.
This book opens with the magical words, “Congrats on saving that kid’s life, Nic”. Our male protagonist is a pediatrician. But can there ever be a hero without a proverbial chink in his armour? “Saving a child’s life—flooded enough adrenaline in his system to deadlift his car like a barbell.” Yep, you guessed it right, here is a workaholic! As the title itself suggests, our workaholic pediatrician is the Crown Prince of Mynia—Nicolas Frederick Hansen or Nic.
Our female protagonist Summer Rand is also a pediatrician, but a commoner.
The plot itself is quite predictable: the prince meets a commoner and sparks fly. Soon enough the prince disappears, and the commoner is left to deal with an unplanned pregnancy.
Nic is a little slow, and it takes quite a smack on his head to put some sense in there. I just hope we see him putting his words into action in the coming books. Summer emerges stronger, confronts Nic on every mess, and is determined never to let her child feel alone and abandoned. With “I never felt like I was a burden to be handed off, and I damn well will not have Harry feel that way”, you ROCK Mamma Summer!
Other characters are interesting too; the queen and king are adorable, Rachel is the Godsend friend and Harry is cute! Yes, we get a sneak peek into the other male protagonists of this series.
That said, some things really set this book apart. Both the protagonists come from loving and doting families and both are dealing with deep personal wounds from their childhoods. However, their ways of dealing with their wounds are different–only one of them suffers from the survivor's guilt. Ms. North successfully nudges readers towards learning positive lessons from our losses.
Personally, I find the other subconscious nudge more significant: family guidance is important, especially that of our elders. They usually know what ails us and how to deal with it.
Finally, for every Happily Ever After, remember relationships need both time and patience. This book, however, doesn’t ;-) My rating 3.5. It is fast, flowy, and fun! Check it out!!!
*Spoiler Tag* Nicolas was in the states to do his residency in California. He was trying not to make any connections because he only going to be here a short time. Nicolas Frederick Hansen, the Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia, is doing his residency in California. Here he meets Summer Rand, a fellow resident. They spend a few months together, until Nic abruptly goes back to Mynia, leaving Summer with no way to contact him when she finds u she is pregnant. After 2 years, the two meet again when Summer takes a fellowship in Mynia. She finds out he is the Crown Prince and he gets to meet his son, Harry. With an already overwhelming schedule, Nic finds it very hard to juggle between his career, his prince duties, and his new family. Will he understand in time what his "priorities" should be or will he lose both Summer and Harry?
This is a very sweet second chance romance with not that much world-building considering Nic is the prince of a fictional country. While I could certainly see how the choice between priorities was a hard thing for Nic considering everything, it annoyed me a bit that it took him so long to choose his priorities. He was contradicting himself at times, saying how much he wants this new family and then putting them last on the list of priorities. I didn't quite understand from the beginning how he was planning on being a prince and a doctor at the same time, so adding the "task" of being a father overfilled his schedule.
While this was a sweet story, I would not reread it, but I would gladly read the next installments of this series.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"Funny how, no matter how many designers he’d hired or remodels he’d done, it hadn’t really felt like a home until Summer stood in his living room."
I thought this was a cute story! Parts of it were a little predictable and I wasn't really shocked by any of the events or conflict. I felt like it was a pretty easy read. I thought the relationship progressed fairly quickly. It seemed like Summer and Nic had a quick, but intense relationship in LA that resulted in her pregnancy. Any type of contraception was not addressed in the book, so whether that was an oversight by the author or intentional, it wasn't a surprise that Summer was pregnant. I thought their relationship in Mynia also progressed fairly quickly. I, for one, would have been a little more hesitant and surprised by seeing the man who completely disappeared for literally two years without a peep.
Nic's parents were super cute and I loved their interactions with Summer and Harry! There were some cute moments, but for a majority of the book, I was saddened by Nic's intent to burn himself out and how hard he struggled to juggle his commitments. I understand the reason, but it was still frustrating for Summer and Harry. I liked the conclusion of everything though.
All in all, I thought this was a sweet book that wss fairly straightforward. I think it is a good book to pass the time.
If you’re a fan of instant love story than this book is definitely for you! The author really did a great job creating such interesting characters. Both FL and ML are doctors with the fact that our ML is also the crown prince of Mynia.
Summer and Nic first met at a hospital in California where they work at. They had their moments together which resulted in Summer getting pregnant. Soon after, Nic left without a trace and Summer had no way of letting him know they were expecting a child together.
Summer lost her parents in a car crash and she ended up in a foster care. She learned the hard way that to be a doctor like her parents she need to overcome the trauma of being left alone in the world to stay determined and focused. Independent that she is, she did a great job in raising their son on her own.
Nic is still in trauma of his brother’s death. He became a workaholic as a result.
Two years later, they meet again and their secrets were out and it’s really up to them to work things out.
I admired how Nic responded to the news first hand. What a fine crown prince and true gentleman. Now, we need more of Nic in this world.
Overall, I really like the strong family theme and friendship in this book. How love for one another overcame it all. The king and the queen are the perfect parents and grandparents one could’ve ask for. And the best bff award goes to Rachel. It’s been an entertaining read.

Tim died aged eighteen, his dream was to be a doctor so his brother Nicolas swore he would be a doctor in his place. During his residency in America, he met Summer and although he knew he would have to return to Mynia soon he couldn’t resist her. Summer was falling hard for Nic when he suddenly ended things and left with no real explanation. When she finds herself pregnant and tries to find him, she soon learns that he was not who she thought and she has no way of finding him. When she arrives at the hospital in Mynia, she is surprised to see Nic and find out he is actually the Crowned Prince of Mynia. Nic is thrown through a loop when he finds out he is a father. Summer and Nic agree to keep their son and possible relationship a secret until they have decided what is best for them all. Nic is the head of paediatrics, a Prince trying to sort out policies for health care for his people and get to know his son: he is spread so thin he is constantly pushing Harry and Summer to the bottom of his list of priorities. Summer wants a family and to be loved and not ignored. This was an engrossing book, both Summer and Nic have issues with their past experiences, but Summer has handled hers much better than Nic. How they each deal with their relationship reflects these issues. You get an introduction to the other billionaire prince’s that I assume get their HEA in the following books. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
I can always count on Leslie to write a captivating story with characters that I can’t help but find fascinating and very engaging. Her characters have flaws, quirky traits and even weaknesses that make them true to life and relatable. This book features Nic and Summer, both of whom have suffered unimaginable losses in their lives and have felt driven to become doctors. They met as residents and became lovers only for Nic to leave after a couple of months without ever having revealed his true identity or how to contact him. It was only after he left that she discovered she was pregnant.
Now two years later, Fate has brought Summer to Nic’s country to take on a fellowship at the hospital where he is the head of Paediatrics. They are both shocked to see each other and their secrets are finally revealed. He is the Crown Prince, and she gave birth to his son. Nic’s duties to the crown, his country and to his profession have left him exhausted and on edge. Now he has a son and the woman he loves to add to his overly busy life. It doesn’t take long for Summer to realize that neither she or their son is at the top of Nic’s list of priorities. Lingering grief and guilt have led him to make the mistake of choosing duty over love, and it may cost him Summer and their son.

Stubborn and determined The Billionaire Prince’s Surprise Son (Undercover Princes Book 1) by Leslie North is a sweet and steamy second chance romance. The Billionaire Prince element is a bonus but not the real focus regarding Nic. He’s more the stubborn, determined, responsible and duty type A personality who falls for Summer. Summer is light and breezy, but a brilliant doctor as well who understands the need of work-life balance. Summer and Nic together are spectacularly steamy, loving and caring until Nic has to leave unexpectedly and without explanation. The plot, Nic’s second chance with Summer, is a struggle. Nic still has too much on his plate, weighing him down with all his duties and responsibilities, leaving his little time to do much more than sleep a few hours. The real struggle comes as time after time Summer is disappointed, Nic breaks promise after promise, and plans without a courtesy call. I would venture to say that Nic is his own worst enemy, the antagonist within these pages. Overall, this author finds a way to make these characters work for the HEA and Nic does a fine job, putting all his stubbornness, determination, responsibility and duty to good use in the best of ways for Summer and his HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily sharing my review.
This story features a real-life, hard-working single mom and a driven privileged oldest son trying to be everything to everybody and stretching himself too thin. Nic was eldest son snd heir to his father when he made a promise to his dying jounger brother to live his dream for him; so he went to medical school and became a pediatric surgeon.
Like many perfectionists, Nic focuses on things he knows he can succeed in or control to a positive outcome. But drop him in a situation where he lacks control, and he tends to forget to mark it in his calendar or he will use any excuse to duck out of that commitment. I guess living life in the glare of public scrutiny can do that to a man.
Summer had a difficult life in the foster system after her parents died in an auto accident. But she dedicated her life to following in their footsteps as a doctor, also specializing in pediatric surgery. A brief fling with a fellow resident leaves her with another challenge, raising her son as a single mother while completing her residency and establishing herself in her field. When Summer lands a prime fellowship in a small island nation medical field, the last thing she expects is to run into the father of her son.
Two dedicated professionals have to learn to create balance life, family, and professional obligations. Nic also needs to learn to prioritize and make choices based on clear thinking; not try to be all things to all people all of the time. That house of cards can never survive.

Finding balance and your priority can be hard but greatly rewarded when you do
The Billionaire Prince's Surprise Son is the first book in the Undercover Princes series and is a sweet romance. The story is about Prince Nicolas Frederick Hansen and Summer Rand. They had first met when they were both doing their residencies. They had an immediate attraction to each other and fell into an relationship. But one day Nic was gone without any word and Summer was left with a "bun in the oven". She had a sweet and lovable little boy named Harry. A few years later Summer and Nic's paths cross again when she takes a fellowship program in Isle of Mynia. She then learns exactly who Nic is, a prince, a billionaire and a doctor. He learns about Harry and immediately decides that he and Summer should be together and he wants to be Harry's father. Things don't go quite as smoothly as the Nic expected and he has some learning to do along the way. Will he and Summer be able to make a relationship work and will they make a family with Harry?
This was a nicely written book with an entertaining story-line and likeable characters. A few times I wanted to cuff Nic but he finally figured out what his priorities in life should be, with a little help from Summer. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series.
Summer and Nic met as interns in a California hospital program. They began an intense affair until suddenly one day, Nic said he was leaving giving no way for Summer to communicate with him. Nic withheld the fact that he is a crown prince of an island nation. After he leaves, Summer discovers she is pregnant and all attempts to find out where Nic went from the hospital administrators are met with failure. Two years later, Summer happens to be in a medical fellowship at the island's hospital. She is shocked to run into the man who abandoned her. Nic is even more stunned to learn he has a 16 month old son.
Summer agrees to try to make a go of a relationship with Nic despite his previous behavior for the sake of their son, Harry. Summer has her own career to think of, but she wants Harry to know his father. At first Nic seems supportive but running a hospital pediatric department along with the endless duties of a prince leave him little time for his new family.
Nic continues to make poor choices up until the point it looks as if he will once again throw away an important relationship. Summer deserves a metal for her patience and putting up with his shenanigans. His track record with Summer was already suspect so Nic will have to decide whether he wants the mostly self inflicted, unrealistic responsibilities or the woman and son he loves.

Two years ago, Summer and Nicolas met when they were both doing their residence in a California hospital. They had a wonderful time together but it was too short. Nicolas was gone and Summer found out that he wasn’t who he said he was. Fast forward and now Summer is in Mynia working in another hospital. She never expected to see him again. Even more, she finds out he is the Crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia. She will not let him break her heart but he needs to know his son. When Nicolas sees Summer again, old feels that never died rise up. He also finds out he has a son. He wants to have them both in his life but he is going to have to work for it.
These is a sweet story. I have to say Nico is a workaholic. He never seems to have time for Summer or his son Harry. His parents love the boy. These two so want to be together but he needs to find a balance with work and family life. Their relationship starts out slow but then heats up and crashes. Summer is a strong woman that as much as she loves Nico, she wants more. Her past and his are just right there. She opens up but it takes him longer and he almost loses everything. We meet his two best buddies Erik and Ben.
Another Fantastic Leslie North Series Begins! This Book One was a great storyline with great characters, especially the main characters, Summer Rand, who lost her parents at age thirteen and entered the Foster Care system until eighteen. and Crown Prince, Nicolas Frederick Hansen or Nic. They are doctors who met while doing their residency at the same hospital. Unfortunately Nic and to leave and go back home where he finished his residency. Summer was met with unintended surprise but finished her residency. She started Fellowship at the same hospital where Nic is Chief of Pediatrics. And so the plot takes a turn as to what everybody’s new role will be, and that includes the reigning King and Queen, Nic’s parents. Since both main characters have teenage trauma we are shown how it affects their ability to have and maintain relationships. The author has done a phenomenal job showcasing those emotions beautifully. It is for that I’m recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. PEACE.

A sweet and easy second chance romance with a secret baby and secret identity tropes.
Nic and Summer are both doctors who meet during their medical residency and discover that there is a spark between them. However, what Summer is not aware of, is that Nic is a prince. His royal status obliges him to go home when he is called back. What Nic does not know is that Summer is pregnant with his baby when he leaves. Summer is not able to contact him and let him know about the pregnancy, thus it leaves her raising their son alone. Until the heroes reunite two years later. When Nic learns that he has a son he is determined to take part in his life and make his life the best. Old feelings between Summer and Nic resurface that are complicated by his royal duties and his work. However, they find a way to overcome all the difficulties.
I loved the word building and the characters. The book was a really enjoyable romantic read that can keep your mind off things. I really liked the romance and chemistry, but also the characters separately. And as I love the secret baby trope this was definitely a hit for me.
Nic found himself in the US to complete his medical residency before he returned to his home country to not only resume his responsibilities of being part of the royal family but to honor a promise to the brother who was unable to fulfill his own dreams. It was only a matter of time before the chemistry ignited between him and fellow resident Summer however duty called, and he never expected to see her again.
Summer has overcome a difficult childhood and the two things she wants in her future are to be a doctor and have a family. She never expected them both to happen concurrently when her relationship with Nic led to an unexpected pregnancy and no way of contacting him to let him know. Two years later fate would bring them together once more and when all is revealed will this be their second chance or are their different lifestyles too much to overcome?
Summer had learnt from an early age that the only one she could count on was herself so although she may want Nic in her life she didn’t need him so they had some turmoil to overcome until he realized that balancing his responsibilities and his family were the only way he would be able to have both.
Nicolas Frederick Hansen is billionaire doctor, but he is also crown Prince of the Isle of Mynia, doing his residence in America and after he and another doctor, Summer Rand just preform surgery and saved a child life, spend the night together. This one night together turned out to be several months of a growing romance, until one day Nic told Summer he had to return home. Several months later Summer found herself pregnant and no way to find Nic to tell him. Two years later Summer was offered a fellowship in the Isle of Mynia. There she met the father of her child and told him about Harry. Nic took Harry’s with shock but one look at him and he knew he was his son. But his not sure if he can handle being head of pediatrics, handling policies of Mynia, going to galas and fundraising and now father to his son, there just isn’t enough time in a day.
