First things first; I like the cover of this book! Bourbon under mistletoe is a novella in the ‘’Cajun Christmas’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Ryan isn’t a man to cross. When he meets one of his new waitress’s he wants her but will he claim his woman? The chemistry between Ryan and Clodagh is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved how feisty Clodagh was, especially whilst serving. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a short story full of lust, denial, a little danger, suspense and finally love. Ryan and Clodagh have been dancing around each other and avoiding their feelings. She works for him and is busy trying to get ahead. He is older and feels there must be someone better for her. When she has some trouble he steps in and saves the day. They find that love just cannot be denied. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline

Bourbon Under Mistletoe by Alice May Ball is part of the multi-author A Cajun Christmas series. I picked this book up as I have read a number of this author's books previously and was enjoying this series. The story is about Ryan and Clodagh or Clodgagh (as it is spelt both ways in the book) in an older man/younger woman romance. Ryan is all about business and his is gambling in New Orleans. Clodagh is all about putting herself through school and that means working at the same casino that Ryan owns as a server. This story is not quite what I expected and I am going to leave it at that.
Alice Marie Ball's contribution to the multi-author A Cajun Christmas series, Bourbon Under Mistletoe, is loaded with intrigue, romance and New Orleans at Christmas. Mob bosses, creole, zydeco...sexual tension between a hot, dangerous older man and an independent, intelligent yet innocent younger woman...A kidnapping. The French Quarter and Christmastime. Ryan and Clodagh have chemistry to burn, and this is a quick, intriguing read.

A waitress, Clodagh works an illegal gaming room in New Orleans for Ryan Gibson. He was several years older than Clodagh, but the moment he walked in seeing her working the floor, he knew, he was in trouble. Due to the no fraternization rule, Ryan tried to stay away from Clodagh, until there was some problems with the sons of rival club when they kidnap Clodagh. A fast moving story with lots of action adventures.

I thought that this was a great book. I really like Ryan and Clodagh. I really enjoyed the twits and turns that this book took as well as the action in it. The connection and chemistry between Ryan and Clodagh was great. I really liked that this book was a little bit dark but still had a great HEA. I would recommend this book.

There were parts that worked for me and parts that didn't. I downloaded the extra content to see if I could make sense of the ending as the ending didn't really work for me. There was drama, passion, chemistry, connection, family, friends and some good character strengths in this story, it just didn't completely flow/work for me personally.

Fun, steamy, fast paced read with a little holiday twist. Alice May Ball is great at writing compelling older, alpha tough guys, whether bratva or, as in this case, Irish mob. I liked Ryan and Clodagh, they were interesting, but it took too long to figure Clodagh out. Ryan gets to flex his alpha muscles by protecting and taking care of Clodagh. Overall a satisfying read. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I wasn't feeling it . . . Ryan wants Clodagh but feels she is too young for him. Yet he will protect her. Clodagh feels she cannot trust Ryan, yet he is the one who is there for her when she needs him and he will keep her safe. Will she fall for him?
I didn’t really feel the chemistry between these two. But that could just be my perspective with the mob environment. Grab your copy and see if they decide to be together.
It’s a tale of twists and turns alright. Clodagh and Ryan are resisting the attraction between them but anywhere they turn they can’t help but be drawn to each other, literally and figuratively, like magnets. Their attract and repel became a dance for them.
Clodagh is not just any ordinary waitress, she is just the right woman for Ryan.

This was a short holiday romance. Ryan and Clodagh had obvious chemistry together and it was pretty steamy. Add in some drunk bumbling fools and there is some action to keep it entertaining. It was an enjoyable read, though to me, it really didnt delve too deep into either of the characters' feelings.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
Bourbon Under Mistletoe by Alice May Ball was an amazing story that once I began reading I could not stop. I read it in one session. Ryan and Clodagh had intense chemistry that he thought he could resist. But when he learns she has been taken he is determined to protect her and claim her. Of course it being set in New Orleans was a major plus for me. I will definitely be reading more books from this talented author.
Ryan is running his business when he runs into one of employees under the mistletoe. Then he cannot keep his eyes off Clodagh. Then when she is in danger he comes to her rescue. This is a warm, sweet, holiday romance. The characters are wonderful and the story flows really well. I enjoyed this book very much. It is on the short side but that is okay because you get a full story.

It just takes Ryan a bit to accept this. The attraction between them was never in doubt. Once Ryan accepts Clodagh as the special woman she is, they make the perfect team.
This is a part of a multi author world all set in New Orleans over Christmas
Ryan is a member of the Irish Mafia and when he sees Clodagh he wants her but he knows he is to old for her and his world is to dangerous for her. Clodagh is attracted to him as well but doesn't know if she can trust him But when she needs help he is the one that stand up for her Can they have a future together
A captivating page turner in the Cajun Christmas series! The story line is fast pace, exciting, engaging, emotionally deep, funny, and well written with drama, intrigue, angst, suspense, and air of mystery. Believable characters; the chemistry between them is instant and hot! Definitely recommended!

This is different from the others in the series. It's dark, brooding, and a bit violent. It's all behind closed doors illegal parlor games, with a classy feel. The book needs some editing.
This story has lots of heat and some suspense. It is also very sweet in that older man, younger woman romance way. I loved the setting in New Orleans and having lived there before, I know it was realistic.
This has some twists and turns that may keep you on edge. I love the older man, younger woman trope and that added another obstacle here. The story moves quickly and has steam and some romance although it did take me a while to actually feel the chemistry between the characters.
