"While this girl has been stripped down to the barest bones of herself, her soul shattered, her heart broken a million times over, at least she's finally free."
Full disclosure: This book is technically #4 in the Belle Curve series, but as a new to the author reader, I felt completely comfortable reading this as a standalone novel.
What do you get when you bring together a cocky NFL player and a skittish nurse? Over the Moon has an indisputably gorgeous cover, but the story inside is just as passionate and suspenseful as the cover conveys. I had a fantastic time getting to know these characters, and they evoked a sense of empathy and connection that I don't always find myself giving to fictional relationships.
The setting of Camp Dakota, the absolute fire between King and Silver, and the subtle vein of suspense running through the story are more than enough to keep the reader flipping pages, but I loved the tender intimacy that develops once these characters start to let their walls down and embrace the fact that their relationship is more than just a fling of sorts. Also, the theme of found family being just as important, if not more important, than blood really made me melt into a pile of mush. *all the feels regarding the owners of the camp and their adoration of Silver* I don't want to give away too much, so I'll end here, but if you're looking for a binge-worthy read that will amplify all the warm weather vibes and bring a hefty dose of summer camp nostalgia, definitely pick this one up. This story was just irresistible and completely captivating. I honestly couldn't stop reading once I had started and ended up reading the entire book in a single sitting. As ever, K.K. Allen blew me away with her impeccable writing. She has a beautiful, poetic way with words and the writing always feels very familiar and easy. The plotting of the story was clever and heartfelt, and I loved how unpredictable this story was.
The romance in this story is a powerful one. Silver and Kingston are starcrossed lovers, even if only one of them knows this. There are things stacked against them but they fall in love nonetheless and their romantic journey is one an experience like no other, and it is one that left me feeling so many emotions. These two characters have an amazing story to tell and not only are they likeable, but I felt like I was right there with them, every step of the way. This story is full of ups and downs, and it zigzags your emotions from happy, to sad, back to being to thrilled, making it difficult to put down because you HAVE to know what is going to happen next. There were so many twists and turns for these two characters, keeping me invested until the very end.
Over The Moon was an enthralling read from start to finish. It was a beautiful and moving story that definitely pulled at my heartstrings, and the emotional rollercoaster I went on throughout this story was thrilling yet completely heart wrenching at times. This story was perfect parts angst, happiness, suspense, sadness, anger, and love. K.K. Allen's writing is wonderful on all counts; plot execution, dialogue, and creating incredible chemistry between her characters. Once again, she delivers a story built upon complex characters and complex emotions. It's simply a breathtaking read and one I wholeheartedly recommend.
I loved reading this book and I am certain you will too. Silver and Kingston are made for each other and I absolutely loved witnessing their time together.
There is nothing that I didn’t enjoy about this story. Much of the storyline takes place at Camp Dakota where Silver resides and works, and I loved this setting. It made a refreshing change to have NFL players in romance books away from the training ground and games. It was the perfect opportunity for Kingston to think about his lifestyle and actions, which came at the same time that Silver was facing some major decisions in her life too. I loved the instant attraction and connection between the pair, which I felt was necessary for the storyline. The sexual chemistry between them is undeniable.
Over the Moon grabbed my attention immediately and held it throughout. I loved the back and forth between Silver and King. There are plot twists that I didn’t expect and the suspense I felt whilst waiting to discover what was going to happen next had me on the edge of my seat at times….. which I loved. The supporting characters added to the storyline perfectly and I am pleased to learn that many will have their stories told in the future.
This is a must read book with fabulous characters, an incredible setting and a storyline that made me feel many emotions. The way the author penned the story made it so easy and enjoyable to read, and I loved her references to the phases of the moon. I cannot wait to be back at the camp, and I hope that we will see more of King and Silver too.
⭐️ 5 "Summer Nights" Stars ⭐️ Over the Moon is a novel that had me in awe! I absolutely loved the two main protagonists, Silver and Kingston. They both live such different lives, the down to earth nurse running from her past and the rebel football player, and it shows with their first encounters full of antagonizing. But one thing is also clear from the start, the simmering attraction between those two. I enjoyed the way their story evolved beautifully throughout the pages of this book. K.K. Allen shaped a wonderful setting for this exquisite romance that got me in the feels so deeply!
Kingston is this bad boy with a heart of gold. With Silver, he’s his cocky self trying to get her in bed with him, but he soon realizes that she isn’t impress by his famous status. It’s when he shows the core of his personality, the caring and sweet side, that their electric dynamic only explodes into a gorgeous romance. That man is truly charming, devoted and protective.
Silver is an interesting heroine too. Dedicated to her job and fearful of her past, she doesn’t really venture outside of Camp Dakota. As much as she tries to stay away from Kingston, she ultimately can’t resist him, but it doesn’t mean that she makes it easy for him to win her over. She’s sassy and has repartee when it’s required, putting the man in his place a few times. Their interactions are very entertaining that’s for sure!
More than the romance though, we also get a little bit of suspense put in the mix to shape the perfect story! Over the Moon was sweet, hopeful, sexy and surprising! It provided sneak peeks at beloved characters from the BelleCurve Series which was a plus. This novel is without a doubt a great addition to this fantastic series!
** ARC received in exchange for an honest review **
A nice sports (?) romance read. The hero might have been a NFL player but action in the field was almost nonexistent.
The prologue was very strong, intense and so intriguing, I immediately thought this read would be epic! Unfortunately, as the story was unfolding my first assumption proved to be not that accurate. The certain part of the story that dealt with Silver’s mysterious past, was not strongly developed and executed.
Feelings of love flourished very fast and Kingston ‘s character had a dramatic change that was almost unbelievable.
However, I liked their romance and the way Kingston treated Silver. In general, I enjoyed it but wasn’t thrilled as I was anticipating to…
I am officially Over the Moon with this book. I love the tender and sweet chemistry between Kingston and Silver. Kingston who embodied a bad boy, alpha male hero falling for sweet and gentle Silver. Their banter is cute.
I like how Miss Allen putting a such tender care developing the story and gave a deserving HEA. I am surprise that Over the Moon does not have any character with art background like many other Miss Allen's books. I am still enjoying this book very much. It makes my weekend ends with a smile.
Silver is a camp nurse hiding out at Camp Dakota and Kingston is the troubled football bad boy sent there for rehabilitation for his wild ways. They have many sassy and flirtatious run ins. There is an evident attraction, but one has to fight it so she doesn't lose herself and the other has nothing else to lose.
King knew just what to say to get under Nurse Silver's skin and over time into her life. Little by little walls and secrets are brought to light. Trust is established. Hope is on the horizon. Love can be found. This story was beautiful and charming. Kingston and Silver were perfectly imperfect for each other. They brought out the best in each other. One learning to slow down and be still ... the other is learning to live again.
If your looking for a book with hot football players, a sassy camp nurse, friends who have your back, steamy scenes and even a bit of mystery - then this is the book for you!
“Even in darkness, his green eyes have the ability to suck me in and hold me to him like a magnet. Two opposite forces, connected in a way that almost feels magical”.
As always with K.K’s books I totally loved it. Over the Moon is a really addictive book and the story will hook you up from the beginning. The characters were amazing, I loved Silver and Kingston and their relationship was so precious. I loved their banter at the beginning and how Silver always put King in his place.
Kingston “King” Scott is a cocky NFL player that because of a wild night has to go for a month to a training camp. At first he didn’t put much effort but after meeting the camp nurse everything changed for him.
Silver Livingston ran away from home when she was seventeen and Camp Dakota is all she’s ever know since then. She’s a nurse there and the owners have always treated her like their own. She’s very strong and despite not knowing much about her past at first she was an amazing heroine and her story drew me to her from the start.
Silver always saw Camp Dakota as her safe haven and then Kingston showed up and all changed for both of them. He helped her get out of her comfort zone and loosen up and she helped him see that being there at camp had some good things. I really loved their interactions and how much they changed throughout all the book.
Then we know more about their stories and understand more their background life. They both went through a lot so it was really nice reading how they helped each other overcome their pasts. There was a lot of drama and I really wanted to know how Silver’s story would end after her past came to haunt her. I loved how she trusted King with her story and that he always wanted to protect her and spoil her.
Their steamy scenes were really 🔥🔥 and I loved how much chemistry they had. At first she tried to hide her feelings but Kingston was very persistent until finally she couldn’t deny the attraction they both felt.
The story was perfect and I always enjoy K.K’s books so now I’m dying to read about Hope, Anderson and the rest of the Bexley family.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Kingston King Scott screwed it up so now he is on his way to a god knows where camp to "adjust" his personality and encourage some kids. What he definitely didn't expect to find in that hidden camp was a beautiful, mysterious and skittish nurse ready to face him and not instantly fall for his famous charm.
OVER THE MOON is my first book by this author, a standalone in an interconnected series, and I completely loved the mysterious vibe going here! We have Silver, who has an amazing sense of humor; Kinsgton, a cocky player quickly making his way to redemption; side characters that I'm ready to meet, and a sweet and swoony romance with a bit of push and pull but with a guaranteed happy ending.
The story of these two characters didn't start off on the right foot. Yes, there was attraction from the moment they caught each other's view, but the way their personalities collided? too funny not to laugh. And then Kingston trying to win over Silver, proving to her that he was more than just a playboy player, and she trying to push him away, scared of relationships and her secret being found out? A CLASSIC THAT ALWAYS WORKS!
As I said, this is a standalone in an interconnected series, but as a first-time reader of this author I have to say that I didn't feel left out at all! there were glimpses of other characters, but nothing too detailed or difficult to understand, just giving you enough to want to read their book later. Obviously I'm gonna add some books by this author to my tbr 😉
“I think this is what I’m going to miss the most.” “What’s that exactly?” “Staring up at the moon with you.”
From the prologue, we know that Silver has gone through something bad but has ended up being a nurse at a children's camp.
Kingston, on the other hand, was getting busy with a bouncer's wife and ended up in jail, forcing his coach to bail him out. His punishment is helping the kids at the camp.
Right from the start, they are both attracted to each other but Silver doesn't trust many people, much less, football playboys. Kingston doesn't let that stop him and that's his saving grace because Silver likes seeing Kingston's softer side.
As they spend more time together, they open up little by little. It was amazing how they had certain things in common and how they were able to bring the best out in each other.
Kingston also pushes Silver a little sexually...not that she doesn't want him, she's just unsure. However, after the first time, it's no holds barred.
I really enjoyed these two together and I especially liked Kingston when he was around Silver. She also gets him involved with the moon phases and it was really romantic.
I thought the drama was too over the top at times especially the grand finale. Luckily, that ending made up for a lot.
This book is actually part of a series (Belle Curve). I'm not sure why none of the books are linked as such but maybe it's because you don't need to read them in any kind of order. They are just a bunch friends that know or get to know each other. I did get a kick out of some of them making cameos.
Here are the other books:
Up in the Tree House - Gavin/Chloe Under the Bleachers - Zach/Monica Through the Lens- Desmond/Maggie
I've read two of them. I just haven't gotten around to Monica's book. They are all equally good and I would definitely recommend them.
Over The Moon is another great story written by K.K. Allen, I found myself captivated from the beginning by this story and all its characters.
Silver and Kingston are two people who left their past behind and when they met at the camp where Silver works and he is there at the behest of his coach after having stepped on the ball an attraction between them is born. Their relationship was a slow-burn a lot because Silver has secrets from the past that prevent her from opening up to someone, but it doesn't take long for the feelings of the two to speak louder is a connection between them forming.
I liked them both a lot, Silver was a young woman who came out of a difficult situation and managed to start over again, I found her a brave character is easy to like. Kingston is a character that surprised me throughout reading, in the first chapters I thought he would be a womanizer who would change over reading, but with every glimpse that the author showed me of him he proved to be a protective, faithful man, affectionate and funny. Their relationship seemed to me like an instant love affair, where I would have liked to see the birth of that love happen more slowly, but despite this quick connection between them, the romance between them was sweet.
The book has a touch of suspense that I liked a lot and also features secondary characters that I hope will gain their own story in the near future ➖➖➖ Over The Moon é mais uma história ótima escrita por K.K.
I can always count on K.K. Allen to tie me up in emotional knots with her dynamic stories, and she's delivered--once again--with Over the Moon. From the sizzling chemistry to the vivid scene descriptions, this opposites-attract romance checks all my boxes. I couldn't put this book down!
KK Allen has written yet again an easy to devour, opposites-attract story that will steal your heart and make you swoon! It's impossible not to fall for Kingston "King" Scott and all of his NFL swagger and cocky charm, and Sylvia "Silver" is a heroine who you will stand up and cheer for. She didn't take any punches lying down and she is fierce and determined. I loved her sass, chemistry and banter with King...they were so much fun to read, and their steam was Perfection!!
I love this world that KK Allen has created. If you love opposites-attract with a bit of suspense and football thrown in, then you need this book!! Well done once again KK Allen!!
It was never love for me with this one, but I did like it. I love a bad boy hero with a marshmallow heart, and Kingston definitely gets there somewhere along the way. His vulnerability and persistence are some of the best parts of the book - along with all of the smokin' chemistry and plentiful conversation. The writing is solid and the suspenseful aspect adds a little something extra. This just had a really slow start for me, and it never fully recovered. There are too many references to Kingston's womanizing past, too many times when he almost reverted back to that, and too many moments when Kingston gets vulnerable... only to be left hanging. So, I liked a significant amount of this, but there was something off the whole time.
The story follows Kingston, a giant, grumpy football player who is constantly getting into trouble. He's aggressive and angry at the world, a combination that makes him a little dangerous. So when his latest mess leads to him "volunteering" at a camp for the next month, Kingston isn't quite sure what to do with himself. There's a sexy nurse at the camp, so things start looking up... at least until Silver rejects Kingston at every turn. Silver has no interest in a temporary fling, and she certainly has no interest in a jerk like Kingston. But as the two get to know each other better and let down their walls, the chemistry and connection between them becomes impossible to resist.
This is my first time reading something by this author, but I've heard great things about her work - and it WAS good. I liked a whole lot of this, from the slow burn to the complex characters, to the easy conversation. However, Kingston makes the transition from womanizer to instalove in the blink of an eye, even if he pushes against that several times. I liked him more than I liked Silver, though I could also understand her reasons for holding back. The secrets in her backstory worked in some ways, but not in others, and sometimes they made me dislike her. I really only disliked Kingston when he was sulking or overly arrogant, lol. I'd have loved if the focus of the story was on the actual relationship, rather than the drama that stands in their way, but that's just me. Overall, this was a decent read for me, but not a standout.

I loved this book. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn't put it down. The romance, heartbreak, and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. The attraction between King and Silver is amazing and intense. I loved these two and I loved how they made each other better. This was an amazing read and its a must add to your TBR list.
K.K. Allen never disappoints. Yet again she delivered an adorable story, capturing my heart right away.
Over the Moon is an opposites-attract romance, full of sass, banter, a little bit of suspense and perfect chemistry between Kingston and Sylvia. Both are captivating characters who are easy to fall for. Their story delivers passion and heartbreaking moments, everything you long for while opening a K.K. Allen book.
If you are up for a slow-burn sports romance, this is definitely your next read. I loved every minute I spent with it.

Over the Moon is an emotional, sweet, and very beautiful book. Kingston Scott is a famous football player and therefore his ego is huge. His impulsiveness, rebellion and arrogance get him in trouble and now he must pay his penance at a camp on Orcas Island. There he meets an enigmatic young woman who is the camping nurse. He is immediately attracted to her but she ignores all his flirtations and attempts to reach her. Curiosity for her increases with each interaction between them, and inevitably they both fall into temptation. But Silver Livingston keeps a secret and fears that as soon as Kingston finds out, he will walk away from her...
Kingston and Silver are polar opposites. He is a Playboy, he is livin’ la vida loca and always wants to do his will. Silver is quiet, reserved, and her secret haunts her. She lives in constant fear that one day her secret will come out to the light and it makes her feel vulnerable, despite she has an extraordinary strength of character. She is caring and cannot help but fall to the charms of Kingston, who goes to great lengths to win her trust and ultimately her heart. Both characters have a great evolution but it is more noticeable in Kingston who begins as a douchebag, although throughout the story we realize that his personality is deeper. He has also experienced sad moments, however he hides that sadness by showing a superficial personality. The connection between Silver and Kingston is very special and intense. He knows that she is hiding something but he is willing to carry her luggage. He becomes her rock and urges her to face the situation that haunts her and move forward.
It was a delight to read this book. It includes suspense, a small dose of action, an epic romance and many steamy scenes.
It was my first book from the author, so I didn’t know what to expect. It was a nice surprise, because I was hooked from the first chapter already. Her writing is amazing. K.K. Allen wrote the perfect love story about a cocky football player, a feisty nurse, with a hint of mystery and suspense.
I loved all the characters, but my absolute favourite ones are Silver and King of course. I really liked the connection and the bickering between them. I really enjoyed that King was who wanted the whole relationship thing more, and how he wanted to win Silver’s heart. They both had a sad past and Silver also had a big secret. I was happy that finally she told him the truth and it was beautiful how they helped each other healing.
I must say the story is as amazing as the cover. If you haven't, make sure you add Over The Moon to your TBR. You don't want to miss it.
Thank you Wildfire Marketing and K.K. Allen for an advance copy of Over The Moon.
My favorite quote: “I think this is what I’m going to miss the most,” I tell her. She lets out a breathy laugh. “What’s that exactly?” “Staring up at the moon with you.”
I've enjoyed every book in the BelleCurve series, but this one tops them all! KK Allen absolutely blew me away with Over the Moon. After reading the prologue, I was instantly hooked and I loved every minute of this emotionally packed and beautiful story!
Silver and Kingston were total opposites, but the attraction between them was just too powerful to deny. She struggled to open up to him, knowing that there were things in her past that could come back to haunt her - but Kingston broke down those walls and showed her that he was someone she could trust, not only with her life but her heart. He may have been a bad boy to the world, but he truly did have a loving and pure heart - he just needed to find the right woman to be the man he was deep down inside.
One other thing I really loved about the story was seeing the couples from all the books in the series, to truly tie everything together. If you haven't read any of the others, you can definitely read Over the Moon as a standalone, but you should totally go back and read the others too!
With a new camp season just around the corner, Silver knows that being the camp nurse will keep her busy. But when the pro football players come in to help up and coming school athletes she gets more than she can bargain for. Kingston's penance for his outlandish behavior is volunteering his time at the camp. And although he is not happy about why he is there meeting and connecting with Silver has made is so worth his time. But can she allow him into her life when she has built it all on lies? Or will he be the exact thing that she needs to give her the future she deserves? With amazing characters and intrigue mixed with romance this was a wonderful read. I cannot wait to read the books that revolve around the supporting characters. Loved them all!!
With off-the-charts chemistry and witty banter, Kingston and Silver will have you hanging on their every word. I was blown away!

This was my favorite of the series. I actually didn't realize that Up in the Treehouse was Allen's debut novel. I realized this when I looked to see when Over the Moon was released in comparison because I could feel the difference in writing. The first 3 books are cheesy and all have some cringy narration, but this one was actually well thought out, good dialogue, and definitely more angsty. I almost didn't read this because there wasn't even a hint of the two main characters throughout the ENTIRE series. That made me feel like this was put out just to complete a 4 book series, but I was pleasantly surprised.
IDK if it's enough for me to revisit KK Allen again, but the covers are gorgeous and she was super nice when I met her in Chicago.
I had a really hard time getting into this story and skimmed most of the last 25%. I didn't feel the chemistry between Kingston and Silver, although I love those names. I had a really hard time with the whole trust fund issue. Silver loved and worshiped her father, yet she's willing to throw away, not only the last thing she has of him, and the whole reason she's been in hiding for 8 years, but 12 million dollars! Once she started saying she didn't want it the story lost me. No one just gives away 12 million dollars of inheritance after nearly dying and giving up your whole existence because you don't want it.
This book does seem to reference some characters from previous books, but not enough that I felt I should have read their stories first.
Over all a decent read.
This is my first book by this author so I'd love to read another and see if it's a trend or fluke.
"I am determined to find out everything beautiful and messy about you, Silver Livingston."
I LOVE this entire series. It may have something to do with the fact that each book takes place in my State, but also KK’s writing is just amazing! This story was no exception! Over the Moon introduces us to new characters, but we also see some characters from the previous books. This can be read as a standalone, but like always, I recommend checking out the previous three books first! I absolutely love that this book takes place on Orcas Island… Last year was my very first time visiting the island, so it was so fun reading this book and just really being able to picture everything KK wrote about it!
Kingston Scott uses being an asshole as a defense mechanism. He has demons, a past, and a reputation for being a player… In more ways than one. Not only is he the defensive end for Seattle’s football team, but also gets around. He’s being sent to Camp Dakota for a month to teach young boys about football but also to get his act together. He doesn’t want to be there, but once he spots the blonde haired, grey eyed beauty, staying doesn’t seem so bad.
Silver Livingston ran away from her past eight years ago, and has been living and working at Camp Dakota ever since. She trusts few, and those she does, she hasn’t let in all the way. So when arrogant, dirty mouthed Kingston Scott, someone she can barely stand, arrives at the camp, and they start talking and getting to know each other more, why does she want to tell him everything?
Watch out book boyfriends, King is coming through!! I absolutely loved Kingston! I loved how much he opened up with Silver about his past, and the way he treated her throughout this book. He is SO sweet, swoony, and I loved how far he came from the beginning of the story, and how much he wanted a certain part of his life to change because of her, for her. I also love how he calls her Nurse Silver.
Silver is a badass heroine! Everything in her life is set in stone, but Kingston makes her live a little, step out of her comfort zone a bit and explore the island she lives on. I love how with each time they spent time together, Silver’s walls dropped with Kingston. Even though the times she’s away from camp makes her nervous, she takes comfort in the fact that she feels safe when she’s with Kingston.
These two together are on fire! They have a rough past in common, and Kingston is so understanding and patient with Silver, but he also doesn’t give up. He tries to get her to see that she can have more than what she thinks she’s allowed, even when it may not seem like it’s possible. Their steamy scenes together were just 🥵🔥 And the suspense that was thrown in there was so good! This book was so many things!
I said this with her A Bridge Between Us, but I have to say it again. K.K. Allen can write the heck out of an extended metaphor. Like, truly. For people who simply want to know about Allen’s newest book, Over the Moon, this story is a beautiful romance about two people who simply need love in their lives. Isolated, alone, they’ve survived their worlds by shoring up emotional walls and imaginary Rottweilers to attack anything that could torpedo their ability to move forward without attachments. When the professional defensive end and the camp nurse meet, this ability becomes more and more difficult, making vulnerability look $exy even when there is no $ex on the page. Over and over again, Allen’s book is an apt reminder of her giftedness at storytelling, as she grabs your heart, churning it through the trials of her hero, Kingston, and her heroine, Silver/Sylvia. Using the metaphor of the moon, Allen drives her story forward, showing the development of Kingston and Silver, not just as a couple, but also their growth as individuals, and it’s delectable in its presentation.
The level of detail that Allen pours into her stories makes them special. From the distinct titles of the parts of her book to the graphics at each story’s new moment, you find yourself lost to her craftsmanship.
Her hero, Kingston, is my favorite type of hero. At the book’s beginning, he is not very likable. He makes choices in his life that is driven by his ID, and they find trouble for him. However, as he encounters Coach Reynolds, a beloved character from Allen’s BelleCurve stories, his journey begins, and it isn’t an easy one. Through meeting Silver, Kingston is humanized, moving away from being only a football god with high emotional walls set in place to a man who loves deeply that he wants to save Silver from herself. When a hero journeys this path, it is like my own personal catnip, and Allen has crafted him so well.
Now, I will say – my only criticism for this book – lies in Silver’s revelation. I won’t add it here, but in my opinion, it was underwhelming. I would have liked for Allen to spend more time developing the emotional impact of that moment, but she gave that space over to the chronology of her story, which I understand given all the elements of this book. However, I wanted more emotional pop during the moment when she reveals her secret. Silver is a special character given her circumstances. I would love to speak to all that makes her special, but it’s her ability to see Kingston’s true self that makes her the most special. Allen has drawn her beautifully in Over the Moon.
Needless to say here, but I couldn’t put K.K. Allen’s book down. This is not unusual. She writes characters that pull at your heart and make you fall madly for their story, and her ability to craft a book that is nuanced and detailed is her superpower. This should be on your Kindle, and it is the PERFECT read for this coming weekend.
