Hundreds of typefaces, thousands of words -- letters are everywhere Each has a different look that expresses a different feeling and can create a different response to the same word. Perky jesters manipulate and interpret the words, making a complex subject accessible and fun.
The coolest kids' book on typography I've ever read. Not the best read-aloud, but my six year old son and I still enjoyed it as a bedtime read. A worthy follow-up to Falwell's shape books. Would be great for a class discussion and project with wordprocessing, too.
The nerdiest, most awesome book I've read today. I'll probably buy it someday, and it will fit brilliantly on the shelf next to Lynne Truss and Greedy Apostrophe.
