Everybody needs a baby goat....and a second chance with the love of your life

Devon & His Goat by Tarin Lex is the third book in the multi-author Curvy Girl's Best Friend series. When you decide you need to occupy your time and want a pet everyone things about adopting a kid goat right??? Whether you do or not, as I think most people would think cat or dog first, you will still enjoy this charming and lighthearted second chance romance story. The story is about Ashleigh, a twenty-four year old who for the last two years has owned and runs an animal rescue in Stanbery Idaho, and Devon Livingston who has moved back to Stanbery after his father recently died. Ashleigh and Devon had been high school sweethearts and had planned their lives together. But at eighteen Devon decided he wanted to prove himself to his father and moved to his Dad's company's corporate headquarters so he could climb the corporate ladder higher. But in order to do that he walked away from Ashleigh and broke her heart. Five years later and Devon has been home for two weeks. It turns out that he has learned a lesson, both by himself and also something his father told him before he passed away. Devon is used to being busy so when he sees a posting on the website of a local animal rescue for the sweet Percy, the goat, he decides to go and see him to adopt him. This puts Ashleigh and Devon smack dab in front of each other again and let's just say that there are some fireworks from both sides, but for very different reasons.

This is a very cute and fun story which has a lovely story-line with some drama, romance, emotion and sexy chemistry. The characters, including the supporting (which includes Percy and Huxley) are all likeable. I enjoyed this book and had a big smile on my face and more than a few laughs throughout.

This was sweet, and cute. And I loved the goats. I just wanted...more. More character development. More Steam. More conflict.
I felt like everything was solved entirely too easily. He came back. They had one conversation that didn’t actually cover most of the important things. Then she avoids him for basically a month, and the next time she sees him, and has her Second conversation, she completely melts into him with hardly one of those “staaaahp, noooh.”’s that girls sometimes do when they’re playin and will actually stab you if you stop.
I’m not actually gonna hold my preference for steamier, dirtier, more vulgar sex against her. It wasn’t a bad scene, I’m just a dirty bitch with daddy issues and a skewed perception on what constitutes good sex. Ya know? I outgrew the type of sex that’s in here when I was 16.
There are plenty of people still out there that will only read that kind of sex so I say good on her for providing a good option for them.
Overall, not bad, not terrible. Good even. Just not a stand out for me.

This is a fast read that only takes about thirty minutes and is part of a multi author world in which an animal plays a major role in bringing the main characters together

In this case the story revolves around Devon five years earlier he left his small town breaking Ashleigh is then girlfriends heart. The treason he did this was that he wanted his fathers approval but now with his father dying he has returned and his fathers advice is to make sure he lives life and that love is important. Now Devon has decided to stay and he wants Ashleigh back she is working at a local animal shelter and a goat kid maybe the thing to bring them back together Ashleigh loves that kid after all she delivered Perry now Devon is heading to the shelter hoping to take Perry to his farm and maybe wins back Ashleigh's heart in the process.

Animal rescue owner Ashleigh is growing attached to a baby goat when the guy who broke her heart five years ago, Devon, reappears - to adopt said goat. Ashleigh and Devon were in love through her teen years until he up and left. Back for good, Devon is intent on getting Ashleigh back - and he isn't below using cute baby goats to help him. Ashleigh and Devon still have undeniable chemistry, despite the heartbreak still obvious at the beginning of the story. It isn't difficult to be engaged with them and find yourself hoping for them to find their HEA together. Ms Lex brings humour and great writing to this sweet and steamy second chance roman. And did I mention there are baby goats?

I kinda loved this story. It was short, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. Ashleigh and Devon have history. Some of that history is wonderful and some of it is painful to the point that neither of them wants to think about it. They are reunited at Ashleigh's animal rescue when Devon shows up to adopt a baby goat named Percy. Devon realizes that Ashleigh is the love of his life and he would love to have her back in his life. Ashleigh isn't sure about giving Devon a second chance. I loved Ashleigh and Devon's happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Ashleigh took over animal rescue and has one rule, "Never adopt animal from the rescue.", even if she falls in love with the animals. One such animal has captured Ashleigh heart, a baby kid she help deliver and now someone has come to see him and maybe adopt him.
Devon has return home, after five years working in the city. A request by his father to come home, who is dying. He told Devon his was proud of him no matter what he did with is life, but do not be like him and live a sad and lonely one. That's when he decided to stay in town, live in his cabin and try to win back the woman he loved and lost, and back into his life. Ashleigh.

Second chance to make it right! This is about Devon and Ashleigh. They were both young sweethearts and then he wanted to pursue his father for bigger, better things and broke it off with Ashleigh. This was five years ago, now he has lost his father, but his father made him realize that he should not focus so much of climbing the ladder than making something permanent like a home with someone you love. He always wanted it to be her, but thought that she moved on, of course this story is not only about the couple it is also educational into raising goats as pets!!! I’m already looking forward to my retirement in the country where I can get a couple of goats!

Ashleigh and Devon have a history its not a good one. Now years later as she is running an animal rescue he shows up to adopt a baby goat she has up for adoption. She doesn't want to let him have the goat but she knows she can't do that so she goes with him home to get it settled in. Sparks reignite between them as they get the goat taken care of. Devon wants a second chane with Ashleigh he regrets leaving her behind like he did. But will she give him another chance at her heart? Will he prove he is staying around this time?

This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Devon & his goat is a novella in the ‘’curvy girl’s best friend’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Devon and Ashleigh were once so in love. When Devon broke Ashleigh’s heart, he left town. Five years later and Devon is back and determined to get his woman back.
The chemistry between Devon and Ashleigh is clear to see and I liked them together.
I loved Ashleigh’s bond with the goats.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Devin and Ashley were an item until Devin broke her heart 5 years ago and moved away. Ashley finally realized her dream of having her own rescue center for animals. She's just finished feeding Percy, her favorite goat, and her assistant comes in and informs her someone is there to adopt her little goat. When she goes out she finds Devon standing in the room hoping to not only get the goat but perhaps get his girl back. They still have the chemistry and there is still the sizzle between them the just need some help lighting the fire. A good feeling story that will make your heart sing. The first book in this series was cute and I was looking forward to this because I adore goats. But it was a let down. I will say I’m not a big fan of second chance love stories for the most part and this one was worse than most. There really wasn’t a valid reason for him walking away and not speaking to her for five years. There wasn’t a believable transition from her hating him to loving him so the whole thing felt forced. I skimmed the last chapter because I really didn’t like the story so I didn’t care about the sex and him asking her to marry him. Five years too late imo. I completely skipped the epilogue. Because again, I didn’t care. Not a satisfying before bed read. Bummer.

This is a short, sweet, and fast read that will have you fall in love with Percy and want him for yourself. Now he is back and interested in one of her goats. Intense emotions and feeling rise up again as neither had moved on. His permanently returning to the country to settle down with her is the ultimate wish list item. The characters were heartwarming and sincere. The backstories helped complete to connection, even with some bad feelings to start with. Loved the storyline.

This is a sweet romance, I love how Devon finally understands what is important, and Ashleigh does not let him off to easily.

A sweet baby goat named Percy, Ashleigh is the owner of the shelter and is stunned when Devon walks unexpectedly through the door. Entertaining easy reading.

Ashleigh owns an animal rescue and she is prone to fall in love with all the animals especially the little goat called Percy.
Devon is back home and he wants to right some wrongs. He needs a companion and decides to adopt a pet. Little did he know how that will change his life.
I like the parts about Percy, perhaps because one of my brothers has a couple of goats that are cute and funny, but I found the story lacking.

Never too late

Devon and Ashleigh's story was so sweet.
5 years ago Devon left the little town to go work at his father's firm. When he left he broke Ashleigh's heart ( and his own). Now Devon is in town and when he walks into the pet rescue looking for a 4 legged friend, he sees Ashleigh and his heart (and body ) are pulling him right back into love.
The story is about a first love that stands the test of time, heartbreak forgiveness.

Loved this book!!!! Aleshia and Devin are such a tender couple. It took Devin five years to get himself right for the love of his life. I liked how Aleshia trusted her self to trust Devin. Unfortunately, his lessons came with a tragedy. Their reunion was tense but led to honest communication. Enjoy!!😻😻

Love this story!

This story is about first love, first heart brake and forgiveness. Devon and Ash were together for 3 years until he decide to leave. Five years later he is back and when they see each other is like sparks, but can she pass the hurt. This story is romantic, steamy with a happily ever after.
