Award-winning author T.N. Baldwin is an Australian who dreamed of writing a novel when he was a tiny boy in primary school. As a tiny man, he made several unsuccessful attempts over the years. Then, one fateful day (October 14th, 2018) he woke with... THE IDEA. He began writing that day. Four months later, he completed his first draft. Over twenty drafts later, he had the first novel ready for release. And The Magicium Series was born…

An English/Drama teacher in his former life, he has lived and taught on three continents. These experiences have broadened the horizons of the boy who grew up in western NSW and Queensland in Australia. Today he lives in NSW with his wife and children – along with two dogs he pretends not to like. In his spare time he plays football and cricket, as well as listening to hard rock music. He has released five novels so far: Discoveries (winner of the Literary Titan Gold Book Award), Disruptions, Disciples, Disintegration and Dissidents. His sixth novel is due for release in 2023.

Baldwin is back and better than ever in this third book! All the characters have their arcs go deeper and really try to come to grips with what drives them. I've really become attached to them now - you will probably not make it through dry-eyed. Baldwin has a distinct talent for writing realistic reactions and character motivations, and the secrets of magicium are further exposed, but there's still so many questions which need answering. Bring on book 4!

This is my favourite book in the Magicium series. It introduces new intriguing characters as well as continuing the journey of favourite characters. This book, the third in the series, takes the reader to exciting unexpected places and the main characters are given new directions and challenges. I can’t wait to continue the story when book 4 is released.

Is it third time lucky?

Perhaps this is T.N.Baldwin's best one yet? It is hard for me to say, as there are more for me to read in the series, however, "Disciples" is up right there. That isn't to say the first two were not fantastic, "Disciples" just delves deeper into the lives of the characters and what drives them most. Some hone their own Magicium powers, through their different means.

The way Baldwin connects the different parallel plots together, is ingenious.
Adding to this, the way he brings back minor characters, from a few novels ago adding the 'six degrees of separation feel about quite a few of them.

With Baldwin's scrupulous, talented ability to draw you even further into the story and make you question things you didn't even know were in the back of your mind until it is sprung forward and it snaps right back! The incredible twists and turns throughout the novel keep you reading on and needing to know what happens next.

Baldwin has this way of describing a chase, training, or even a fight, that makes the heart race, just as if you are right there alongside these characters, especially if something happens that could possibly end in disaster for someone.
You can feel the character's highs, as well as their lows, just as you would really, close friends. Yes, I even shed a tear or two while reading at times.

I am itching to keep on going, Book Four, "Disintegration" is waiting for me.

If you are looking for a dystopian fantasy that is unlike any other, with a true, unique flair, look no further than The Magicium Series.

I didn't think it could get any better, but I could barely put Book 3 down! Baldwin continues to write genuine characters with emotional beats and climaxes that are well-earned. As each character learns or teaches, Magicium: Disciples takes shape and begins to question every assumption the reader makes about this world. The world of Magicium grows morally greyer and more questions spring up with each one that is answered. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Carla is looking for the thing she lost, Blessing for who she is, Logan for what to do next, and Junior for who he’s supposed to be. With the characters still reeling from the events of Disruptions, nothing is what it once was or what it was said to be. In T.N. Baldwin’s third installment of the Magicium series, our beloved, rag-tag group of once hesitant adventurers find themselves buried deeper and deeper in the politics of the war they once sought to end. Disciples is an exciting and thrilling story that delves into the root of who the characters are.

Just like the previous books in the series, Disciples does a fantastic job of building off the already-established plot and characters while managing to bring everything to its full potential. Carla, Logan, Blessing, and Junior all have no choice but to step out of their comfort zones in order to grow. I found myself especially interested in Blessing, a character who I haven’t always loved. At times, it felt like I was reading a coming-of-age novel – definitely an interesting choice for the third book in a series but a choice that paid off immensely. It was a joy to watch the characters that I’d already fallen in love with grow into themselves and navigate the conflicts they were forced into, separated as they were.

Disciples kept me interested in everything while not making things too overwhelming. Disciples is a fantastic follow-up to its predecessors and one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Action, politics, and adventure – it had everything I wanted out of a fantasy novel while keeping me excited for the inevitable reunion in the next book.
