She is determined to ignore her banshee power... until the magic she despises becomes the only thing standing between death, and life, for herself and everyone she cares about.
Inspector Maewen Jones of the Supernatural Police Division is tough, uncompromising, and focused on being the best human detective she can be. Her banshee half is a curse, not a blessing, and she tries to forget that part exists at all.
When a Fae prince -- heir to the Winter Court of Faerie -- turns up in her office in the human realm with information about her latest case, Maewen can no longer ignore her magic.
This unlikely pair must work together to bring down a deadly foe threatening chaos and darkness to both the human and Fae realms.
Mae and Rhodri’s passion might heat up the night, but Rho celebrates all magic as a gift. He cannot understand why any Fae – whether hybrid or full-blood -- would want to deny their own heritage.
The Fae prince and the human detective will have to dig deep to find the strength to face the darkest battle, not only against a vicious enemy, but to conquer their own hidden demons that the darkness brings to the fore.
BANSHEE POWER is the third and final book in the BLOOD FAE CHRONICLES trilogy. If you enjoy the complex characters and unique storylines of Donna Grant, and the paranormal action and sizzling romance of Rebecca Zanetti or I.T. Lucas, then this is the series for you!
Jen Katemi is a USA Today bestselling author of steamy contemporary and paranormal romance. She is published with Evernight Publishing, and also has forged a successful indie career with her popular HELLHOUND PROTECTORS, GODS OF LOVE, BLOOD FAE CHRONICLES and FORBIDDEN series.
When she’s not writing, Jen runs an editing and proofreading service, looks after the family and pampers various cats. She lives in Melbourne, Australia.
In this the 3rd book in the series we get to meet Maewen, another banshee hybrid, daughter of Renna and sister to Aleah and Indigo and she is an inspector with SUDAP, the National Police Supernatural Division. She also wears a ring, given to her by a witch which kept her banshee powers from overpowering her since she was constantly in the presence of death. She also hated the part of her that was banshee seeing this as a curse rather than a gift, so when she met Rhodri, the Prince of the winter court of faerie he took offence that she hated who she really was but he saw her strength and admired this in her, and was enamoured of her right from the start. Rhodri and Tarrien offer to join forces with SUDAP in order to bring the abomination attacks to an end and stop the chaos and deaths taking place in the human world. Maewen even knowing the torment Indigo had gone through when captured and taken to the Badlands by the abominations and necromancers still offers herself to be set up as bait. She hopes that the exiled Queen Rhiannon and Targon her partner a powerful mage would come forward to capture her and they would all be ready for them. They were the leaders of the Restoration Movement, a group of rebels who wanted to see the accords fail thus bringing in chaos, to rule in a divide and conquer manner. In this dark paranormal romantic trilogy this last book is the darkest of all, as Rhodri and Tarrien are forced to face their evil parents and put an end to the abomination killings. I love the romance which bloomed between Maewen and Rhodri, who though so different to one another teamed up so well together. I really enjoy the steamy sex in the series and I love the Winter Court of Faerie and would love to read more novels based in this setting with of course more banshee heroines.
: BANSHEE POWER is the third and final instalment in Jen Katemi’s contemporary, adult BLOOD FAE CHRONICLES erotic, paranormal, fantasy romance series focusing on three Fae/human hybrid sisters: Aleah, Indie and Maewen. This is supernatural inspector and banshee Maewen Jones, and Winter Court prince Rhodri’s story line. BANSHEE POWER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: A banshee is part of Irish mythology; a fae or sprite whose keening wail warns of impending death.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Maewen and Rhodri) BANSHEE POWER continues to focus on the ‘abominations’ and necromancers created by former Queen of the Winter Court Rhiannon, and her consort Targon. In an effort to reclaim the Winter Court throne, and rule all of Faerie, Rhiannon is hoping to capture one or all of the three Banshee sisters but Maewen Jones is the only Banshee left unprotected by a consort or mate, making her an easier target for Rhiannon’s plans. Enter Prince Rhodri, Rhiannon’s son, and the man that will fall in love with our story line heroine. As Maewen, and Rhodri set a plan into motion to end Rhiannon and Targon’s carnage, Maewen is caught unawares and finds herself in the Badlands of Faerie, facing the possibility of a slow agonizing death.
The relationship between Maewen and Rhodri is one of immediate attraction but Maewen is a strong and independent heroine who continues to deny her Fae heritage, and in this Rhodri struggles with his attraction to a woman he believes may also deny him, her love. Fated mates, Maewen will quickly discover that working together with Rhodri is better than working on her own. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include the previous story line couples: Aleah and Luc (Banshee Cry), India and Tarrien (Banshee Song 2): Queen Renna, former Queen Rhiannon and her consort Targon, as well as Rhodri’s long suffering father King Tryppton.
BANSHEE POWER is a story of family and relationships; power and control. There are moments of passion and love, heart break and loss, revelations and acceptance. The premise is compelling; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are spirited and strong.
I really enjoyed this last book in the series. It follows the story of Maewen, an inspector in the Supernatural Police Force and Prince Rhodri, of the Winter Fae, as they chase down the leaders of the resurrection group to stop them killing humans and making abominations.
I think the writing style hit its grove in this book. The characters, were well rounded and we had met most of them in previous books. I like the idea that we get to explore more of the world in upcoming books with characters just touched upon in this series.
Other things I liked is that whilst all the females fell pretty much instantly in love with there partners... they were all strong, caring, smart women who had great inner strength.
Enjoyable conclusion to the Blood Fae chronicles this one features Inspector Maewen Jones (who made an appearance in Indie's story) and Prince Rhodri, son of the villainess behind the creation of the necromancers. Maewen & Rhodhri are my favourite couple - both as individuals and together. I like Maewen's strength and purpose as an Inspector for the Supernatural Crimes Division of the Federal police and I like how Rhodri is both protective and caring but not overbearing. He is eager to work with Maewen - valuing her and her strengths rather than pushing her to the side to protect her.
3.5⭐️ - The third instalment in the blood fae chronicles follows Maewen (a police officer with SUDAP) and Rhodri (fae prince of the winter court). Really enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing how this trilogy concluded. I can’t wait to read more from this world!

Remarkable job Jen, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.
This story closes out the overarching plot from the first two. Whilst it does standalone, it is much better if they have been read.
The female lead is awesome - mentally and emotionally strong and determined, focused on her goals, and not willing to be distracted by incidentals like a fae prince.
The male lead is determined to sort out his problems and win her over.
Their interactions are fiery and fun and the story flows easily. The secondary characters are integrated well and engagement is easy.
The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and I’m looking forward to what else the author chooses to write in this world. I received an advanced reader copy and voluntarily wrote this review.
The Banshee books are my first by Jen Katemi and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I read them back to back! I still have the prequel to go, but I'm sure it will be good, also. I plan to read her Hellhound series next.
