Written in a comfortable, conversational style, Unholy Mess offers a look at both the practical problems with too much clutter (physical, mental, and digital) in our lives as well as the spiritual ramifications of it.
Though the book never becomes heavy with any of it, Angie Hyche is thorough in her approach to the root causes of too much stuff for us to mentally or physically deal with.
You won't find earth-shaking, never-heard-of-before information in this book, but like most books about the topic, it's a cheerleader's rally to "get to it" and "win this game." We see common ideas shared in fresh ways and with a sympathetic ear--offered with a dose of humility and "I've been there. I get you."
If you know you need help but it all seems just too daunting for words, right now might be the perfect time to pick up Unholy Mess and see if it has the "kick in the butler" that you need to tackle some part of your life's clutter today.

What a great book! Angie describes Clutter as "anything that gets in the way of what we want and need to do. It’s anything that doesn’t contribute to our best life or to reaching our goals." It's not just about piles of paper, tchotchkes, and clothes! She breaks it down to some very specific points that we never take into consideration! She dives into not just the physical clutter but emotional and mental clutter that affects us spiritually, too! Angie says, "God has called us to a purposeful, fulfilling, and abundant life." I love how she simplifies things in a compassionate way and helps us to see how God, who organized Chaos into Order, has a specific plan for each of us and desires us to reach our full potential! It's a fun and informative book! I would recommend it!

I love, love, love this book! It’s hard to decide but if I had to pick my favorite takeaways, I’d have to say:

- Even though she’s a Professional Organizer, I love that Angie provides an honest and open account of her own struggles when it comes to schedule and attention clutter.

- Angie taught me so much about the relationship between the bible and clutter even though I’ve had a lifelong relationship with God.

- When it comes to hands-on organizing, I love Angie’s guidance about assessments and 3-step organizing for different categories.

This is an enlightening and practical read which I highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the insight I gained from this book! The author did an excellent job of not just addressing physical clutter but also mental and digital clutter. She was able to break down the topic in a way that is was very understandable and gave practical tips that I am now implementing daily after reading the book 6+ months ago. I appreciate her spiritual perspective and how she relates the topic to what the Bible says about clutter. I would highly recommend reading this book as it helps you understand the topic of clutter in a more profound way and leaves you with quick, easy ways to declutter your home and your life!

This is one of the best books I have read on organizing and clutter and how it relates to what God says about the subject. Angie Hyche has done a great job defining the three major types of clutter most of us have in our lives. She asks powerful questions to use for reflection and provides Scripture verses and examples from everyday life to help study and understand how clutter can be in the way of your relationship with Jesus. This book is extremely helpful in gaining order and finding focus on things not of this world.

The title of the book is a great fit because the book does indeed explore what the Bible says about clutter and does it well. As a fellow professional organizer, I read a lot of books on clutter and organizing including Christian ones. This book not only includes helpful and accessible tips, but it engages the reader with thought provoking questions that get at the thoughts and beliefs that are the underlying cause of the unholy messes in our home and life. I heartedly recommend this book to anyone wanting to explore the connection between their faith and clutter.

The message and challenges found in Angie’s book are presented with a practical tone but empowered by her passionate desire to point readers to the ultimate source of order and freedom. She addresses the importance of gaining perspective through a Christ centered mind which orders our home, office and schedules.
The chapters lead us to consider that decluttering mind, soul and external environments should not be a onetime project, but a way of life.

What a helpful book!
I began by reading this book in order to review it. Having read through it, I look forward to taking my time working through the devotions and decluttering exercises to clear my home, heart, mind, and spirit. A great look at the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual result of cluttered homes, thoughts, schedules, and their effect on our lives. I look forward to reading more books by Liana George and Angie Hyche.

Loved this book!! Clutter can be so many things. Attention clutter is my big issue. With attention clutter, you are always looking ahead to what you need to do next. You are not present with those around you and definitely not present with God. This book helps you shift priorities and focus on what is important.

If you’re looking for organization advice with a Christian perspective, this is the book for you. Angie has a way of digging to the heart of the matter when it comes to why we have difficulty getting organized. Even secularly minded folks will find useful insight into how to deal with clutter. As someone who loves reading about organization, some of the concepts in the book were already familiar to me, but I gained new insight into the concepts of schedule clutter and mental clutter. I usually think about physical clutter because it is right there in my face, but getting our heads straight can be just as important as clearing out our physical space. Angie has certainly done her homework when it comes to organization and it shows.
