Enoch

Rate this book
The story of 12-year-old Enoch Parnell's experience when his family moves into a black ghetto where his father has just bought a hardware store - and where Enoch is one of the few white boys. The tensions between Enoch and the black gangs, and between Enoch and his parents accelerate. His family is befriended by a black handyman who helps them adjust. Interesting story for older children about race relations and civil rights, culmininating in the riots that followed the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
