As the eldest son of Miguel De La Vega, Tomas should have been next in line to lead the family’s crime syndicate. As the bastard child of the Don’s deceased mistress, the opportunity would pass him by. It didn’t matter to him. It kept him out of the spotlight. He preferred being the muscle, taking care of business with his fists or his guns. Let one of his brothers worry about the political side of their corrupt business, and he would clean up their mess. Tomas was damn good at what he did, and everyone knew it.
Salome Villanueva was on the run from the one person she should have been able to trust in life… her own father. He’d made a deal with the devil, and she was the payment. Screw that. She wasn’t some whimpering female quaking in her heels. She was strong, independent, and once she knew exactly who was after her besides her own family, she was going to turn the tables on them and show them a hell they would never have imagined. Until then, she would ask for help from the only people she knew of who could protect her. The mafia.
The moment Tomas set eyes on the fiery woman, he knew he was going to make Salome his. Salome had more important things to worry about than falling for a De La Vega, no matter how much she might want him. When her enemies get closer, Tomas will do everything in his power to save her, even if it means losing his own life in the process.

Tomas is a mafia romance book featuring our FMC Salome and MMC Tomas. Salome's dad Fabio is pretty much a shitbag who traded his own daughter, [ Salome ,] to pay off some debts. Salome has three brothers as well whom are not happy with their father or the fact their sister has been sold off a a debt; but they can't yet do anything about it. So Salome takes off and goes on the run from her own family. She needs help clearly but the police will not help her... they nay be in cohorts with her dad. This is where Tomas comes in.. and his family - the De La Vega family If you haven't guessed by now, Tomas and his family are mafia. They decide to protect her. Tomas and his family AND Salome's brothers all team up to protect her from her father and the "devil" he sold her to. I'll probably read the nex tin the series. This was a pretty good read. Author did a greata job at world-building.. and I did enjoy Tomas and Salome's developing relationship.
Ill be honest this was the first book I've read from Dawn but it sure won't be the last. Tomas and Salome are real, gritty and explosive. I laughed and cried. I've already pre-ordered the next one.
Salome happens upon a phone conversation that was not meant for her ears and her world gets turned upside down. Fabio Villanueva (her father) had made a deal with The Devil, and he is unable to keep his end of said deal…the payment? His daughter, Salome is the price he will pay. Her brothers Kain, Giovanni and Dario are upset over this deal, but their hands are tied at the moment.
Salome is now on the run from her family since she doesn’t want to be handed over to a stranger. Where is she to go? Who can help her? There is no family left; no friends and the police could be in her father’s back pocket. The only solutions at the moment…turn to the mafia!
Enter the De La Vega family. After hearing Salome’s story after her appearance on their property, they vow to help and protect her at all costs, especially Tomas! (Enter a big swoon here)
Once I started reading Tomas, my “rear” didn’t leave the couch until I finished because there was no way I was going to bed not knowing who was after Salome. The mystery, the suspense, the chemistry between Tomas and Salome had me riveted. Loved how the De La Vega and Villanueva families (minus Fabio) came together to help Salome. On more good news…this is a series and we get to have more of the De La Vega’s! This is one series I will be one-clicking!
De La Vega family - Miguel & Sofia De La Vega Sons: Tomas, Javier & Mateo
Villanueva family – Fabio Villanueva Sons: Kain, Giovanni & Dario Daughter: Salome
I haven't read many mafia romance books but I love this author's writing so I thought I'd give it a try. All I can say is when is the next book, as I am salivating to read more about all of these great characters. Tomas has a difficult past and Salome has learned some disturbing news in the present. Can these two and some of their familia come together so that they can have a future? I received an arc copy and am choosing to leave my honest opinion to help others find books they can fall in love with.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am not disappointed. Tomas is the first in the series and we are introduced to the cast of characters and the world they live in. This is a mafia book, but I find it to be light on the darker violence and suspense that come with most mafia stories, this is not a bad thing if you want a lighter read but still want the mafia theme. My only issue is this is written in third person, and I prefer first person DPOV but overall, it is a good book and worth the read. I would recommend this book.
Dawn really hit it out of the park with this one. Tomas is the strong protector that any woman would want, but that doesn't mean Salome is a weak woman by any parts. I mean how many women find out their dad has traded them for a debt, and decide that the mafia would be the best place to go. I can't wait to read more of this series.
I have never read a book from this author but I’m hooked with this first book. I have always steered clear of Mafia books because sometimes they have a lot of triggers so I always read reviews before reading them. This book is a soft Mafia book and I love all the characters. On to the next one now.
oh this was wonderful and sexy and interesting.. plus fast paced and action packed.. it was so much fun and i cannot wait to read more. such a fun story to read and im interested in the rest of these books in this world.
This is a really good story. It's well written with a fantastic storyline. Tomas and Salome are from two very different families but come together because of a situation. You'll be consumed with this one, reading from start to finish.
DNF at 15%. i just could not. idk why, but the immediate introduction to the story and characters i did not like. there was no buildup to the ‘big bad’ or the crazy tragedy. it was just straight to the point. maybe i’m missing something everyone else sees. but i did not like this.
I’ve never read anything by this author but I will be reading more from her in the future. I’m kind of a big fan of Insta love, so this really worked for me. I liked that the bad guys or bad some of the bad guys are kind of good and the women are wonderful and they all get an HEA in the end..
Dawn wrote a great Mafia story plot was written so entertaining. I really enjoyed the main characters the interaction between them was incredible. Great chemistry with the characters.
