Ambassador Lt. Col. (R) Shariful Haq Dalim was born in 1946. B. Sc. Graduate. He joined Pakistan air-force in 1964. After the 1965 Indo-Pak war switched over to army and served till April 1971. He was one of the first batch of officers who escaped from West Pakistan and joined the liberation war in 1971. Received highest living gallantry award Bir-Uttam . As one of the founding member, contributed immensely in organizing Bangladesh army and faced pre-matured retirement under presidential order no. 9 (PO-9) during autocratic regime of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1974. After the historic uprising that brought the change of government on 15th August 1975, got reinstated in the army and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. In 1976, he was placed with the ministry of foreign affairs and was posted to People's Republic of China as a diplomat. In 1980, got attached with the Bangladesh high commission in London. In 1982, was posted to Hong Kong as commissioner. In 1988, he was posted as the high commissioner for Bangladesh to Kenya with concurrent accreditation to Tanzania. Simultaneously, was also accredited as permanent representative to UN. During the Somalian war, he was assigned additional responsibility to look after the interests of the Bangladesh army contingent that was sent there as a part of the UN Peacekeeping Force. He got retired from the govt. service in 1995.

কিছু কথা কিছু ব্যথা-মোটাদাগে এটিকে ডালিম সাহেবের ব্যক্তিগত ডায়েরি বলা চলে, যেখানে তিনি তার ৭১ এর পূর্বাপর আবেগঘন স্মৃতিসমূহের সন্নিবেশ ঘটিয়ে এ দেশের 'পোড়া কপাল' কে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন। মাত্র ৮০ পৃষ্ঠার গ্রন্থটি লেখকের জীবনের ১১ টি স্মৃতি ১১টি পর্বে ১১টি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন শিরোনামে সমৃদ্ধ হয়েছে। পুরো গ্রন্থটি জুড়ে লেখক তার পুরনো দিনের দিকে তাকিয়ে যেন বর্তমানকে প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ করছেন, ভাবছেন যে আদর্শ ও স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নের লক্ষ্যে এত ত্যাগ-তিতিক্ষা সহ্য করেছেন, সব কি ব্যর্থ গিয়েছে? স্বাধীনতার মোড়কে কি আমরা নতুন গোলামির চাদর গায়ে লুফে নিয়েছি? এ দাসত্বের শিকল কবে ভাঙবে? আদৌ কি ভাঙবে? তিনি ভাবছেন আর পাঠকদের ভাবাচ্ছেন।

অনেক printing mistakes আছে, তাছাড়া খারাপ লাগে নি পড়তে।
ছোট ছোট কাহিনী। কহিনূরের কাহিনী টা বেশি ছুঁয়ে গেছে আমাকে।

বঙ্গবন্ধু ও তাঁর পরিবারের হত্যাকারী ডালিমের লেখা বই, আরো ভালো করে বললে তার ব্যক্তিগত কিছু স্মৃতির সংকলন। এটা এমন কেনো জরুরি পাঠ্য বই হিসেবে মনে হয় নি।

১০ টি ছোটো গল্প নিয়ে ৬২ পৃষ্ঠার এই ছোট্ট বইটি। আহা, গল্প বলছি কেন! ১০টি ছোটো ছোটো বীরত্বে মাখা স্মৃতিচারণ। ২০২৫ সালে এসেও বইটা পড়ার সাথে সাথে নিজেকে রণাঙ্গনে উপস্থিত অনুভব করছিলাম। অবশ্য আমাদের বীরত্বে জুলাই'২৪ এর দিনগুলোও মনে পড়ছিলো।
বইটিতে মেজর ডালিম তাঁর মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ছোটো কিছু ঘটনার স্মৃতিচারণ করেছেন। স্মৃতিচারণ কিংবা বইটি আকারে ছোটো হতে পারে, তবে বীরত্ব কিংবা সাহসীকতা অথবা যদি বলি দেশপ্রেমের পাল্লার কথা, তবে সে ভীষণ ভারী। কেবল দেশমাতৃকার কথা চিন্তা করে নিজের সর্বস্ব বিলিয়ে দিয়ে, জীবনের সকল মায়া ত্যাগ করে যুদ্ধে গিয়েছিলেন বাংলাদেশের সোনার ছেলেরা। তবে, লেখক প্রায় প্রতিটি স্মৃতিচারণের পরই বিশেষভাবে আক্ষেপ প্রকাশ করেছেন...। আক্ষেপ প্রকাশ করেছেন দেশটার দলীয়করণে।

বীর উত্তম শরীফুল হক ডালিমের সাথে ঘটে যাওয়া কয়েকটি ঘটনা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে এই বইয়ে। মুক্তিযুদ্ধ আমাদের আবেগের স্থান নিঃসন্দেহে,এই আবেগ নিয়ে পড়তে বসেছি; আর বইয়ের সুন্দর শব্দচয়নে বারবার আপ্লুত হয়েছি। আল্লাহ সকল মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের উত্তম বিনিময় দান করুন।
এক বসায় শেষ করার মতো একটা বই।
