Parle’s comparative study of classical, revised, and progressive dispensational models helps the reader to evaluate the theological claims by those claiming the label dispensational. He does so by studying the method and theological formulations of Lewis Sperry Chafer, a helpful enterprise in its own right. For those interested in faithful study of the dispensational tradition, this book offers a clear and profitable path.
Not what I was expecting. This book is more of a overview of Lewis Sperry Chafer theology, followed by a few pages comparing it to the theology of Charles Ryrie and Darrell L. Bock. Its good as far as it goes but it needs to be expanded to really show how Dispensationalism has and has not developed since Chafer.
This book is one all dispensationalists must read. It will give clarity in the study of dispensationalism. It covers classic, essentialists, and progressive. It is solid and very helpful. But this book today.
I found this volume to be a helpful evaluation of the similarities and distinctions between classical, revised, and progressive dispensationalists. I only wish it was a little more detailed.
