If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.

I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.

If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

Rockstar and Cherry Pie

4.5 stars - This is a fantastic book with plenty of ups and downs and loop-de-loops. I love the nicknames and the banter! Rockstar is Dex, while Siobhan is usually Red, Cherry Pie, or Little Spitfire.

Going back and forth between present and various points in the past did make me a little crazy on more than one occasion - especially when listening and periodically missing the chapter intro. They did provide insight into reasons for things happening in the present but still had me off balance a couple of times.

These two have been keeping many secrets from each other and from their friends who are like family for years. Little by little they come into focus... and the revelations are the source of plenty of turmoil. Add that to Dex's refusal to admit he's an addict, someone trying to send him back over the edge, a sleazy landlord, and Dex's insatiable appetite for all things Cherry Pie and it spells all kinds of disaster - some fun, some... not. Very much not.

There is definitely a harrowing situation that is scary and a trigger for some.

One of my favorite things about the epilogue is that it provides an update for all of the band members, giving a glance into what is to come and some battles that are being fought privately. I 💚 these lost, broken souls. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Thomas Locklear was the sole narrator. I really would've liked - preferred - a second, female voice. Thomas does a good job with a variety of male voices but female voices aren't his thing. Unless you are overly in love with a stage whispered raspy voice, which I'm not.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 3 stars

Dex Cooper, bad boy bassist with an addiction to drugs, alcohol, and cherries will totally win your heart!

I am going to be honest, after Shattered Expectations, I was a little nervous going into this book. I wasn’t prepared to have my heart ripped open and flayed again. Imagine my surprise when I have read 60% of the book and realize I have had a smile on my face most of the book.

Dex Cooper, steamrolled into my heart much like he steamrolled into Siobhan’s life. From the prologue until the epilogue, he grabbed hold of my heart and didn’t let go. I couldn’t help but love his inner crazy and his inner dirty talking dominant man. One minute he is charming you with sweetness mixed with a whole lot of crazy, and the next, he’s turning up the heat or putting his foot in his mouth.

Dex was one of those characters that you want to wrap in a warm blanket of love 90% of the time and the other 10% you want to smack him on his head for being an idiot. Thankfully, Siobhan smacked him in the head for me. Dex is charming and frustrating at the same time, and the push and pull between him and Siobhan is a story you don’t want to miss, especially as the history unfolds and you discover their backstory.

Guarded Addiction was a fantastic rockstar second chance romance between two people that need each other but found each other at the wrong time in their lives. They have so much to work through to get to a HEA, okay mainly Dex has a lot to work through because he’s kind of a mess. They make mistakes, okay Dex makes most of them, but throughout the book you get to see why and watch him grow from a broken man that needs to numb and hide from his demons to a man that learns how to fight the demons to get what he wants.

I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and getting to know Dex not to mention getting to catch up with the band, Gabe, Harper, Seth, Riley, and Luca. A fantastic book and an excellent addition to the series. This book/series gets all my recommendations.

The Chemistry - The Connections - The Content...L. Ann has done it again!

The sign of a great writer is when they create a world/story/characters that you think about long after you close the book. That is exactly what L. Ann has done with the Forgotten Legacy series. This series gets better with each new book and book 3 was no exception.

We get glimpses of characters we have already met and fell in love with as well as one we haven't (although we are EAGERLY awaiting his story!) Guarded Addiction centers on Dex and Siobhan.
Dex is exciting and exasperating and you find yourself routing for him to do the right thing. Siobhan is fiery and sweet and loves him for who he truly is. This book is fast paced, full of secrets and we meet new characters - hello Delores! And, while they do get their HEA, I love that all the issues they face don't just magically disappear. They are a work in progress and I look forward to what we learn about them in the next book.

So this book has left me feeling all sorts of emotions Siobhan is one of my favourite characters in the series she’s a loyal friend, a sassy spunky girl with claws , but she’s also broken in a way and wants to be loved and Dex well what can I say about him he’s messed up , crazy Unpredictable but I love his character and all his flaws and so does Siobhan, I felt for her every time Dex jumped in and out of her life but sometimes the people we love hurt us the most and they love each you can see it.

I had trouble trying to write this review because the characters both hit deep for me I think L.Ann has made me love Dex more than Cormac ( The pack alpha in her midnight series) as always her books always make you feel the raw emotions the characters are feeling and I’m now loving rockstar romance .

But I’m going to say I cried a lot while reading this I don’t cry over books , but some parts really did make my black heart bleed as well as race I mean wow that scene with.... I’m not telling but holy smokes it was hot sooo hot.

If you love Angst , Steamy as hell scenes with broken damaged souls who will rock your core then this is your book although it’s not classed as darkish romance I’d say that some parts are dark but beautifully written.

Each book in this series gets better and causes me to lose sleep. I always say I'll only read a chapter or two of L.Ann's books and suddenly it's 1am and the book is gone. I love how she takes broken people and doesn't fix them. They're still every bit as beautifully broken at the end of the book. Their HEA doesn't magically fix them or make them some amazing version of themselves. They all still have problems and issues, they all still have demons, but they're loved by someone who sees their brokenness and loves them anyway.

I can't wait for Luca. These rockstars have my heart.

When I say I’ve been anticipating Dex for what feels like a life time I’m not exaggerating. Quick with a snarky comment or joke he seems like the joker but it’s obvious that under all that bluster is someone who is hurting.
Well if it’s at all possible I love him even more! He intrigued me, made me laugh, made me cry and at times utterly infuriated me!
It’s not just Dex, it’s all the characters who you get to see develop, L.Ann sucks you into the world and suddenly you’re getting dragged along their journey with them, Sioban made me want to shout sometimes with how easy she went along with Dex but then you read her internal wars and feel so annoyed that Dex is being so pig headed. So many times I mentally slapped him and everytime he grabbed me just like he did Sioban!
I loved it and can not wait for the next instalment.

Pick it up and read it and if it gets too much you can always... pinea-

Absolutely amazing! Dex and Siobhan literally are focused just on each other when together. He tattoos their story on his body. She’s the only one who calms his demons. Their story is unconventional but one based on deep feelings and love although it takes them both years to realize.

Just like Gabe and Seth he has demons he has to come to terms with and deal with. He takes bad boy rocker to a whole new level.

This book will take you on a wild ride. A ride that is Dex. A must read book. Part of a must read series.

"The man kissing his way across my body was broken in the worst possible way. A time bomb waiting to exploed. An addict who had torn out my heart more than once. And yet here I was, in his arms again, letting him touch me - a willing victim to the fire he set alight inside me."

Why oh why is it that the more broken and messed up the man is, the more we just want to climb him like a tree? When this series first started, I was drooling over Gabe. Then, I fell head over heels for Seth. Now? Good Lord!! Dex is.... well, let's just say I'm on the hunt for a life size cardboard cut out to put next to my bed.

Dex, my poor Dex - fighting the demons of addiction, trying to hold on to the woman he loves yet messing everything up at every turn, keeping secrets, and trying to keep his best friend from going off the rails. Then we have Siobhan, the fiery, redheaded spit fire. Despite all the red flags telling her to run the other way, she can't help but draw closer to Dex. She grounds him. She calls him out on his missteps, and despite their separation, she always knew. It was him. He was the only one for her.

And you can't have a rockstar romance without some angst and drama, right? Secrets come out that could ruin friendships and relationships, a mysterious death could destroy Forgotten Legacy forever, and a devious plot against Dex could have him in deep trouble.

This series keeps getting better and better, and believe me the bar was set pretty high with the first in the sereis, Tattooed Memories. These boys break my heart into tiny pieces but then pick them up and put it all back together again, where each of them remains part of me.

Luca's book is next and from what we've read so far, I fear he just may break me in half. I can't wait!

Rated: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
Heat: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/5
Angst: 🖤🖤🖤🖤 3.5/5

If you haven't listened to Tattooed Memories and Shattered Expectations on audible as done by Thomas Locklear, I 100% suggest you do so to add to the emotions you are going to get from Siobhan and Dex. It is a whole new element that fuels that inner monolog.

Dex and Siobhan are both broken, and neither are the "other half of a broken soul" type of people. They are the kind of broken the bleeds their feelings and emotions out of every crack they own. Sometimes what comes out of the cracks is volatile, sometimes it is full of passion, sometimes it is so full of unrecognizable longing that the cracks break further open.

What you see is almost always never what you get. Being able to see passed all they give each other up front is what slowly starts to fill the voids that have been rapidly emptying in both of them for too many years to want to count.

These two aren't just sullen and hurting. They are also full of life. Humor, sensitivity and several highly guarded walls back the abrasive attitudes they like to dish out. But, it only throws extra heat on the fire building between them.

Each of L. Ann's Forgotten Legacy boys are a whole new, completely different set of traumatic and heartbreaking experiences that come together to bind the band of brothers in more than just their love and passion for music. They are the fallen, the forgotten. Those that were failed and have risen together to build their own legacy. They aren't above everything, they lived it all. And never want to look back. But, the past is what made this journey a reality. Once you've land at the bottom, you can only go up. And what a glorious ascent it is!

Note: this review is a little different for me. This is a love letter to my favorite rockstar.

Dear Dex,

I'd like to start by saying I'm sorry it's taken me so long to review your book. I can give you words of fluff and slices of cherry pie, but it wouldn't be enough to show you my remorse. So instead, I'm writing you this letter.

Dexter Cooper, oh how I love thee. You grabbed my attention from the moment you showed up in Tattooed Memories. Gabe may have been telling me his story, but I saw you. Looking around, acting ridiculous, going through your things in the background. I saw you and I was intrigued by you. I wanted to know more.

As I made the journey through Seth's story I started to see more and more of you. There was way more to you than others gave you credit for. There was a depth to you that was hidden underneath the ridiculous, the humor, the anger, and the rockstar persona you showed everyone.

Then when it came to your book, I saw you. As your layers were stripped away, I felt so many emotions. Hurt, heartache, empathy, happiness, laughter, and every other in between. I saw you Dex. I related to you on certain levels as you battled your demons and addiction. I connected with you on a level that very few people know about. I understood you and I fell in love. Your journey was heartfelt. It was honest and it was raw. It was a harsh reality that people gloss over too often. I love your ability to love deeply. You care about people even when you don't want them to see it. Your tenacity shines through in everything you do, right or wrong. You're a stubborn bum too when you want to be. You made me want to throttle you right next to Siobhan!

She's the perfect match for you, there is no doubt. Someone who walked through her fires in life, who loved you even when you didn't love yourself. She's the fire in your veins, the love in your heart, and the woman who is meant to keep you on your toes. The path you've walked with her was an amazing one to watch. Full of all the emotions and ups and downs we've come to know with all of you boys. It's because she's so amazing that I'm ok with being on the outside looking in.

I know that you know I love you. I also know you love me too. Don't deny it, it's true. Let me live in my little Dex Cooper fan club bubble, ok?

You'll always be my favorite rockstar. My favorite member of Forgotten Legacy. My absolute favorite book boyfriend that I wish was real. I’m honored to have gotten to know you through these books. I’m forever grateful L. Ann brought you to life. I’ll always be obsessed with you but not in the way M was with you know who or M2 with the other you know who… or you know M3 with you know who… because you know.. You know….where was I going? Oh!

Dex, my dude, I love you. You’re the mother trucking rockstar of my dreams. You’re amazing, gorgeous, incredible, talented, remarkable, devoted, loyal, sexy as all get out, and truly a deep character. Thanks for humoring me when I talk to you randomly throughout my day as I stare at your face on my wall. Or the fact you haven’t told a certain author to take you away and run in the opposite direction.

I love you Dex Cooper like this fat kid loves cookies. Like you love Cherry Pie. Even like you love being on stage.

Love your biggest fan,

Shani

L. Ann's Forgotten Legacy Rockstar series is one of the most unforgettable ever, and I am sure she gains more and more fans from each book. I am so glad that I got in at the beginning and I devour each new book as soon as I get it.

The story opens with the band in total disarray after a series of events that has shaken them to the core (you will have to read the previous books to catch up). Though this book focuses on Dex and Siobhan's love story, it is intertwined with and continues those of the other band members.

Dex and Siobhan's story flips back and forth from the past to the present and covers the ten or so years from when the band first exploded onto the scene. During this time their relationship has gone through many changes from being together to being apart but it has been the only constant that Dex has held on to during the turbulence that has been his life. Though Siobhan has done her best to hang on to the man she loves despite his faults but finally just as Dex seems to be coming to his senses she decides that she has had enough of his broken promises. Dex then realises he has to stop taking her for granted and actually prove that he is worth her time and effort and that he can make her happy.

This story is really a rollercoaster ride that moves along very quickly. There are many threads to follow to keep up with the story and to understand why Dex is the way he is. These are two very broken people who can only find happiness with each other but it is heartbreaking to watch that journey unfold. It's an intense and complicated but also a riveting read that you will not want to put down.

L. Ann is a masterful storyteller who amazes me with the complexity of her stories and has me addicted for more. If you have not read this series yet and you love rock star romances this series ranks up there with the best.

Review: Forgotten Legacy series books 1-3: Tattooed Memories, book 1, Shattered Expectations, book 2 and Guarded Addiction, book 3

L. Ann takes readers on a wild and memorable ride with her seductive rockers in books 1-3 of her Forgotten Legacy series!

Friends with a long history, these Rocker's were no strangers to hardship despite their success as a band. Entangled in their past their fame did not make their lives easier but often compounded it with their dysfunction for some raw and poignant portrayals. Stories filled with self-sabotage and floundering confidence conflicted with phenomenal talent and achievements. Overarching suspense and twisty plotting were done skillfully by this author as she created impressive intricately interwoven storylines. It was clear from the start of this series that L. Ann knows her way around drama and angst with the powerful emotions she expressed throughout her works. Her handling of dark subject matter was done with sensitivity and kindness. These were not superficial reads but layered with massive amounts of information and insight. This author's couple interactions were all-consuming and meaningful and her wonderful messy, steamy, authentic relationship's made these works stand out for some well earned HEA's.

L. Ann's Forgotten legacy series was so easy to get caught up in with it's intrigue and intense dynamics. Suspense, unfinished history, torching attractions with a bit of the forbidden, this is a series you do not want to pass by and is the perfect set up for a binge read. With riveting writing, complex plotting and robust portrayals the Forgotten legacy series has it all and would be a great addition to any TBR pile!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.*

*For an overall enhanced reading experience reading the previous books in the series is recommended.*

Guarded addiction
Dex was the bass player and he was gorgeous and talented but also a recovering addict. He’s been pretty good for the last six months but the band was struggling, and Luca didn’t want to come home. Siobhan was the red head he constantly thought about. I love that like book one this book goes back and forward from age twenty-two to present. It quickly became clear that Dex’s relationship with Siobhan wasn’t something new, there was a long history there and I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom of it. I’m also reading quickly because I’m dying to know what’s Dexter’s secret, what’s causing his addiction. This book moves very slowly, I’m half way through and I still have no idea what’s going on with Dex and Siobhan but I was about to be shocked. This story has some heat, again like in book one and two things I just didn’t see coming. I love that Dex and Siobhan have a little kink, didn’t see that coming either because Dex always seemed to be the happy go lucky clean sort of stoner. I’m also on edge about Gabe & Harpers current state of their relationship, Gabe seems to be hiding something. I love that even though this book is about Dex & Siobhan, the author still gives us a glimpse into what’s going on with the other guys in the band. I have to say I’m intrigued about Luca and I won’t get his story till September! I’m pretty sure it’s going to be as upsetting as the chapter I just finished. This book was really good and it ended nicely and I love how we get an epilogue of each band member. I’m giving this book five stars and I’m highly recommending it.

I can’t not get enough of the bad boys of forgotten legacy and Dex is no exception! The roller coaster of this mans actions are enough to keep you entertained for days. Siobhan, she’s a doll. A sweetheart who just can’t seem to resist the bad boy. The story isn’t just an entertaining romance, L. Ann takes it to the next level and get your emotions all involved and just wrings every emotion out of you till you are not sure you love or hate her! (Definitely love her). Her ability to transport you to the rockstar world and endear all her characters blows me away every time and while you can read each story as a standalone, you gain so much by reading them all so when other characters appear you are already invested in them too. I don’t have enough good things to say about this book or this series.

Edited to add then audiobook was fantastic. Thomas always does a wonderful job giving books life and I was sucked back in and loved every minute of it. I love to read then listen because what I focus on and what the narrator emphasizes opens my eyes to things I missed while reading adds and extra layer of emotion and just blows me away.

Dex Cooper first sees Siobhan Rawling in a train and over the next few years will pop in and out of her life, sweeping her off her feet, driving her crazy, and introducing her to the whirlwind that is his rockstar life. His band, his brothers, feature in this story!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this engaging, entertaining and compelling story. The plot is detailed and a reader can empathize with the characters. There is humour, angst, passion, murder, friendship, rivalry, misunderstanding, dreams, rock'n'roll, regrets, secrets, steamy scenes, mystery, suspense, revenge and karma! Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings and emotions as they explore their crazy passionate relationship. There's an epilogue and a HEA for Dex and Siobhan. Worth more than 5 stars! Highly recommended!!!

Audio book review

Another great story book 3 . It’s book 3 in the series but it can listen to as a stand-alone. The author wrote a well written book, well description that you can visualize.
The hero in this one is Dex , he’s not only the bassist but a addictive that’s on the road to recovery. He’s been recovering for months and it’s working for him .

Heroine is Siobhan. Siobhan Is best friends with Harper who’s with the lead in the band . There are lots of twists and turns in this story. You see glimpses of the mains from book 1 and 2 . Grab the other two and see what goes on in the band .

The performance of Thomas Locklear was fantastic. He did the characters great. His voice is clear and strong and smooth.

With all the hurt, laughter and Rock Star quirky, the Addiction or possibly addictions, I loved Dex and Siobhan. I have to say I may have wanted to cause physical bodily harm to Dex at some point, but hey...Siobhan has me covered! This story takes you on an all emotion trip.
Can Not Wait for Luca's story.....but I must.

Phenomenal.....

Continuing the Forgotten Legacy story with Dex, and boy is he a troubled boy.

Dex really shows another side to him and you can feel his character growing and changing throughout the book.

The relationships with the other members of Forgotten Legacy are as angst filled as always and as usual I'm waiting now, rather impatiently, for Luca's story.

I have a sudden need for cherries. I loved Dex and his story and just him! I want more, but I'll happily take Luca's story next. I also loved Siobhan's grandma so much, she's so sassy! As always with this series there's wonderful world building and character development that deserves all the love!

It's me again. Book three is finished! This time we focus on the likes of Dex and Siobhan. There is so much to unpack in this book. At the forefront of it all are Dex and his addiction to drugs and alcohol. Dex has experienced many difficulties in this life. When he was young the trauma he endured led to his need for drugs and alcohol to get through the days. As a rocker, he was also into the random encounters he had with all of the groupies. He was extremely close to Luca...shockingly close. His bond with Gabe and Seth was also close, but what Luca and Dex shared was unique and heartbreaking.

Siobhan is Harper's best friend. She is a fiery redhead who is drawn to Dex even though she doesn't completely understand why they keep coming back to each other. Do they have some great physical time together? Oh yes, without question. There is more to their relationship than that. She is a lifeline of sorts for him. They have some incredibly sweet moments together. Their visit to Dolores was wonderful (The truth about Dex and Dolores happily stunned me.) The way they look out for each other and take care of each other at various times is incredibly endearing.

I thoroughly enjoyed how L. Ann brought so much humor, passion, love, and friendship into a story that also featured anger, frustration, annoyance, and countless troubles for all of the members of the band. I love how this rock band is not just that. They continually are shown to be people that have not only been in each other's lives because of a shared love of making music but because they love each other as family.

I have to applaud L. Ann for how she handled the entire subject matter of addiction. How Siobhan is there for Dex. How she helps him see there is more to life than drugs and drinking. It's not something that only she does, but her help and the help of others allows Dex to make right and wrong choices through the book. There's so much I could add to this book but I feel the best way for anyone to understand it, is to read these book. If you can get them on audiobook, do it. Thomas Locklear's narration is a bonus.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧 Dex💘Siobhan🍒🥧🍒

Guarded Addiction
Forgotten Legacy, Book 3
By: L. Ann
Narrated by: Thomas Locklear

I loved the first two books of this series and have been anxiously waiting for this third one to come to audio I am happy to say it was worth the wait. I have become a huge fan of L. Ann’s writing style, as well as Thomas Locklear’s narration, more on that to follow, first my thoughts on the story and what a story it is. It did not just grab my attention it mesmerized it and held it hostage for the entire book. Rockstar romance is one of my favorite tropes, which is one reason I love this series. The amazing characters and storylines L. Ann created are another reason. They are complex and there is a lot of depth to them. This third book is Dex Cooper and Siobhan Rawlings’ story, Dex is the band’s bassist and Siobhan is Harper’s friend and roommate. Dex and Siobhan have history together, but they kept it to themselves even after Harper reunited with Gabe. There was instant chemistry between Dex and Siobhan. It was like they could not get enough of each other, but Dex disappeared and had no contact with Siobhan for over a year. Then he reappears, acting like he belongs there, and she can only deny him for so long. L. Ann alternates timelines, giving glimpses of events in their lives that lead up to present, filling in all the blanks as their story goes on. And it is not all pretty, Dex has a lot of skeletons in his closet, some that are absolutely heartbreaking. I admired Siobhan for her strength and independence. She was great for and with Dex and she had his back regardless of him ghosting her and their tumultuous relationship. I loved how everything played out in this book; it is a brilliantly plotted story and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, some surprising twists, some mystery, thrilling suspense, lots of heartfelt emotions and steamy hot romance. L. Ann thank you for another brilliant story and emotional rollercoaster ride. It was great to see the others in the band again and I am looking forward “Exquisite Scars”.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, L. Ann cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Thomas Locklear rocks it as he covers to roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. His female voice is so convincing it sounds like a dual narration adds to the fact that he switches character roles effortlessly, never missing a beat. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays and owns the role, sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. Thomas Locklear is an entertaining storyteller, his talent takes an awesome story and enhances it to another level of awesomeness. Thank you for another exceptional listen. It is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

I love visiting Forgotten Legacy's world. It's never what you think it's going to be.

This is book 3 of the series but it does stand alone quite well. There are references/throw backs to what happened in the first 2 books but it's all crafted in a way that you will want to know more if you don't, but it won't draw away from the enjoyment of this specific story.

Dex Cooper is the band's bassist and resident recovering addict (he doesn't think he's an addict, but he's totally an addict). At the start of the story he's been off drugs for several months, but learning the why of his addiction and learning to heal the real way it where this ride takes us. He's flawed and manipulative, but it's all perfect in the end.

Siobhan Rawlins is best friends with the girlfriend of the band's lead singer and Dex has his eyes on her... but that is only what is on the surface. Peel back the layers and see the web of awesomeness that has been woven through the years. The journey for this pair has been much longer than anyone knows and when the full story is laid out for reader and characters alike will anyone survive the fallout?

The audiobook was beautifully performed by the uber talented Thomas Locklear. His range of voices (including female POV!!!) are consistent throughout the whole story. It's like having a full cast audio play experience. You are just swept away by all the drama and emotions even when switching POVs between chapters. It's smooth and seamless and I love him for his talent at bringing books to life.

I received a copy of the audiobook for honest review.

Guarded Addiction by L Ann
Forgotten Legacy Book 3

This series is amazing. Rockstars are complicated and sexy and Forgotten Legacy has all of this and more. Each book is of a different couple. This book is Bassist Dex Cooper’s story and his love Siobhan Rawlings is just the woman for him.

L. Ann has written another amazing book and it shows us so much into a world that can take people and destroy them yet also how relationships and love can make us want to change for the better.

Dex is a complex character who had it hard at a young age and this story takes us back to the past and shows us how the past carries our emotions and actions into the future. He’s a drug addict and he fights it throughout his life but after finding the love of his life Siobhan, he starts to see that he has so much to live for. Siobhan is such a strong willed and feisty woman and just the one for Dex. Wow the chemistry of these two is scorching. I loved how even when these two were apart they still cared about one another. They both knew they were meant for each other. They may be my favourite couple of the series but there’s still another band member who has his story to be told.

Thomas Locklear is a favourite of mine. His performances are surreal. His characters are all so distinct and different and make an audiobook unbelievably enjoyable. I continue to be amazed by his emotional and flawless voices that bring any story to life.

Hoping for more of this awesome series especially with Thomas doing them♥️

Dex has always had a chemistry with Siobhan I noticed it in Shattered Expectations but I wasn’t prepared for the back story. L.Ann has done it again just when you think she can’t shock you anymore she goes ahead and does just that. Dex is as broken as the rest of FL when you hear his back story you start to understand and realise why Dex is so broken and your heart goes out to him. Siobhan is good for Dex she grounds him and takes his mind away from his demons and she takes no cr@p from him . I love that L.Ann includes the rest of the band in her books and you still feel connected to them. Thomas Locklear goes above and beyond with Guarded Addiction and I can’t wait to hear what he does with Luca’s story.
