This book begins with parsing out the differences between nurture and nature in an individual. From there, Havard takes the reader on a journey to develop oneself using the virtues. A very good read.
This book is straight to the point. It helped me pinpoint my strengths and be grateful for them, as well looking at my weaknesses, accepting and working on them. It is not like previous self-help books I've read before, where that talk about general rules, instead it is almost scientific, it helps you know exactly where you are and what is the exact factor affecting your mood, work, attitude, reactions, and way of work.
*Excellent* read! Mr. Havard breaks down the four temperaments into their strengths and weaknesses, particularly as they relate to the virtues of prudence, courage self-mastery, justice, magnanimity, and humility. He then explains the particular challenges of each temperament and provides guides for how those challenges can be overcome. I highly recommend reading this if you are looking to grow personally!
Wish To Be A Virtuous Leader or Merely Effective Manager?
This books cuts through the shrill shouting match of today’s headlines. It gets to the root of what it meats to achieve, not effectiveness, not success, but GREATNESS. Based on the Greek classical virtues, it is a refreshing, and practical, read for modern, moral, minds.
This is the third book by Havard concerning virtuous leadership. It is something of a user’s manual as it provides explicit instruction as to how one becomes a virtuous leader in light of the limitations one’s temperament imposes. Clear and concise, it instructs and inspires. Highly recommended.
A fascinating book on self-development and leadership through temperament, with virtues as its foundation. It offers deep insights into understanding ourselves better and unlocking our full potential. A must-read for anyone looking to grow personally and professionally!
