Maile Spencer faces her greatest fear, a threat to her Hawaiian soul, in this twisting tale of secrets and confessions.
With the holiday season looming, Maile takes over at the helm of her new tour company. To keep busy between tour groups, she chases after a stolen ukulele, runs a slightly awkward marathon, and looks for missing people that might be best left alone. Everyone in her orbit seems to have even bigger secrets than the ones she has for them, when the time comes to share them. One way or another, she leaps all the hurdles in her way to starting the New Year, and the next part of her life.
I have enjoyed this Kay Hadashi series about Hawaiian tour guide, Maile Spencer. Ms. Hadashi apologized for the many typos throughout the book. Apparently, the online book publishing business is rushed and she had a personal deadline to finish. She said as she returns to her former nursing career, she will re-read and edit every book herself. That being said, I will miss Maile. She was fun. She managed to get in trouble on every tour and tied up the loose ends of mysteries and relationships in the last book. I lived on O’ahu for many years and lived and worked in the areas Maile traversed. It was fun to revisit Kaimuki to Kapolei to Nu’uani to Waimanalo via bus and much of downtown Honolulu on foot. I like a cozy mystery from time to time and this series was fun. Good luck to Maile and to Ms. Hadashi in their nursing careers.

Loved the series and the characters. As a Hawaii specialist travel agent, I have enjoyed the stories with detail to locations and factual history. Makes it much more real and relate able .
