Beware for speed readers like me. Masyadong mabilis ang daloy ng story kaya baka maging confusing sa inyo kaya I don't recommend speed reading this one. First, plot is unique. Yes it's creepy, but there are unrealistic na parts. I'm not putting it here kasi it can be spoilers. Still a good read!
The story is creepy, and fast-paced (you won't be able to put it down), the plot is so unique, unlike most Filipino stories I've read, everything is unpredictable. 😭 will definitely buy my own copy to add in my collection.
I didn’t know that there are different stories within this books, so I’ll rate them nalang
I Love You, Ara - 3.5 Stars It was a solid read, it was brutal, that’s all I can say about it. But, no, really, it was a solid read, I really enjoyed it; HOWEVER, the writing? OH MY GOD! would’ve loved this book if it wasn’t for the writing, no hate, but this is the first book to make me physically cringe because of the writing. I’m very sorry but the creative approach of the author, na inuulit yung words between sentences, didn’t worked for me. I can see the goal, siguro para sa additional thrill, but unfortunately it did not work for me, I just didn’t like that. Other than that, really a solid read. Loved the backstory though!
In the Beginning 1970 - 4/5 stars This, loved this! It depicted just how messed ip the antagonist is. It was so brutal, and ugh it added spice to the whole story.
Ara Dos - 3.5 stars This was when I realized this book has three parts: I Love You Ara, In The Beginning, and Ara Dos. This was another solid read, it was really creepy and it did take a break from all the brutality that happened in the previous story, but I still like it. This one focuses more on the horror or the eeriness of the antagonist and how scary she truly is. But, maybe it’s my fault but I was reading this at 1 in the morning, and I was actually kind of just pushing my self to finish the book, when I should enjoy devouring the story.
The Untold Story of Ara - 3.5 Stars It was a solid solid read, really enjoyed it. I think this one would linger in my mind!
I don't really read wattpad and I just grabbed this because of the cover. I found it really riveting in the beginning but got bored when I realized that there's still aras dos. The plot twist wasn't really surprising since I suspected that person to be somewhat involved.
The writing style was okay but I did see a couple of errors (I don't mind it since it's cheap and all). The gory scenes are particularly very disturbing, something I'd feel the pain of while reading.
I saw someone say that there's romance in this? I personally don't think there is.
I also think that Roli is a groomer 💀?? assuming that they had a relationship before her 18th birthday (he's 10 years older). Idk why it was never mentioned, but that kind of threw me off. I also know that they're step relatives, but the relationship from the beginning was a big no no.
I liked some parts of this and found it interesting, I just lost interest near the end.
**Spoilers!!**
The Ara = the bad one Ara = The highschool ghorlalu na anak ni roger
Alot of people died but I was particularly sad when maria did, I think she was a genuinely great mother.
The reveal of the killer was personally predictable, what surprised me was The Ara reveal 👀, everything made sense after that.
Okay, the end left more questions, Joanne was used as a vessel for The Ara to haunt other people?? it's a bit unclear as to why she was chosen but we do know that she's weak spiritually. And in the prologue, we see ka pineng seeing The Ara and Joanne, sooo I'm assuming that's the reason he doesn't want to get involved at first.

I finished it in one sitting at midnight, which honestly made it even creepier. There's just something about reading horror-thrillers in silence that completely draws you in, and this story had plenty of those moments.
The pacing was sharp and relentless, and I loved that I never felt bored at any point. Each chapter pushed me to keep going, which is why I ended up reading until sunrise.
What makes it stand out is how different it feels from other local thrillers I've read, especially since it’s based on a true story. It's unpredictable, not afraid to dive into darker, disturbing territory, and it kept me hooked all the way through.
If you're looking for something that'll keep you awake at night (literally and figuratively), then you need this on your TBR.
Just don't read it alone at 3 a.m. I literally had to run to my partner in our home office while I was reading because it creeped me out so much. I even dreamed about it afterward, which made it even scarier.
Highly recommended! Satisfied ako from first chapters until the last pages. One of my favorite books that I've read this December.
P.S. Full of surprises talaga. Dark, Gore, and thrilling ang story na to.
i'm just gonna say this na. i so love the plot, incredible, 12/10🫶 pero grabe, i was kind of bothered with the whole "falling-in-love-with-step-uncle-thing" and then Ara just ends up being killed after all of that
