Sad lovestory

All I can say is have your tissue ready this story is beautifully written but it's a tear jerker so be prepared to cry.

Do You Believe in Soul Mates? Have you ever met someone and felt an instant reciprocated attraction? Have you ever given your heart & soul to a relationship? If so, you’ll probably see yourself in our main characters.

Come Back had to grow on me: definitely a slow burn. Initially, I wasn’t drawn in and it took me a few tries before I wanted to know what happened with Gwen and Soary. I think I was turned off by Gwen’s grief after Soary suddenly disappears from her life. He was her first: we all understand the impact a first love has on us. However, Gwen’s response was a bit too melodramatic for me, especially since it was only a summer romance. She stopped listening to music and developed anxiety and panic attacks (eye roll). However, the author saved a few tidbits until later in the novel that help explain why Gwen reacted in this way.

Gwen and Soary, after many years, have started to heal and move on from their break up despite not having closure. What do you think will happen when they unexpectedly meet?

WARNING: If you want only happy endings, don’t pick this one up.

If you are a reader that enjoys love at first sight scenarios or characters that are vulnerable but strong at the same time and deal with seemingly insurmountable trials, then Come Back by Lacey Furr should be on your list.

I know we’ve all experienced that first love heartbreak, right?!?

𝒞ℴ𝓂ℯ ℬ𝒶𝒸𝓀 by Lacey Furr shows how Gwen experienced it and experienced it hard, ok. After her and her first love part ways she falls into a deep depression. So much so that she can no longer listen to music because it triggers her and causes panic severe attacks.

Why…? Well, why does her and Soary break up? Why does this first love hit her so hard? What would she do if Soary came back? Can Jason be the one to pull out her out of this long heartache? What/who will Gwen choose? Does she still love Soary, really?

These are all of the questions I had while reading this book. This book brought so many emotions, good, bad, heartbreaking, angst… You may have your mind fixed on one outcome and by the end, your thoughts may be swayed?

This book was good, and after making this reel, my thoughts about it were changed and I added another star! It made me think about my first love as others did in our @indiespinesbookclub discussion. When a book can be relatable, and you can picture this actually happening, that’s a good one for me!

I 💯 recommend this one and warn you to have your emotions ready!

If you are looking for a happily ever after this is not it, just a warning. I cried a lot so make sure you have tissues handy, but it could be I am just a sap. This story begins with young love and the trauma that comes when someone just leaves you. The young lady struggled for years because her love left and she was a mess. She moves on with her life and finds another love they have rough spots but they get thru them. That is all I will say about the plot if you want to know more you will have to read it, but I will say it is worth the read. Sometimes life hands you lemons and this book shows how that could end. I believe this is a first-time published author and she sat on it for a few years and then reworked some of it. I turned out to be very good in my opinion and hope to read more from her in the future.

This novel starts with an all-consuming romance between Gwen and Soary. Gwen is convinced Soary is the love of her life, until one day he disappears. Gwen is left devastated and struggles with an anxiety that nearly debilitates her. When she is finally healing and on the brink of a new beginning with Jason, Soary shows back up in her life. This book is a page-turner and brought out all sorts of emotions for me. I think most of us can relate to Gwen on some level and remember that feeling of first loves and first heartaches, and how it felt like the sky shattered when that relationship was over. Most of us can also probably remember a time when we were standing at a crossroads, knowing the next step would determine the rest of our life. This novel doesn't end like most second chance romances. But I appreciated this type of story because it's full of grace and forgiveness. A simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting read.

Well, I must admit I may have been slightly wrong in my assessment of a certain male in this story (who shall remain nameless) when I first started this book. On it's face, this story is about young love which sounds straightforward right? Well, it turned out to be a lot more complex than that. The character of Gwen was young and in love but she also struggled with debilitating anxiety in a way that you don't typically see.  As I got further along in the book, I found myself on an emotional rollercoaster of life-changing first loves, what it means to grow up, learning how to cope and learning how to forgive. 

Who I was rooting for in this story changed a couple of times -- a credit to the author in how well she wrote these characters and gave them dimension.

It’s not often that a book gets so much emotion out of me. I found myself grieving, angry beyond words, and hopeful so many times. I loved every minute of it.
