There's a new threat to Harvey Bennett and the CSO team. A new threat to the entire world.
Terrorist attacks grip the world in fear.
A deep, dark truth has resurfaced — one that's run through the threads of history.
And one man wants Harvey Bennett dead.
Harvey Bennett is back in the darkest, most twisted, action-packed installation to the series.
When an explosion rocks Ben's home in Alaska, the CSO team realizes the chilling truth: the explosion wasn't an accident. And they were specifically targeted.
Ben and his team start putting the pieces together — an ancient code, a modern-day puzzle, a scientific anomaly that seems too unbelievable to be true.
From the time of Napoleon, a secret organization has been vying for power, and they'll do anything to attain it. They have a plan, and the clock is ticking. They have a weapon, and it's growing stronger.

I just finished this book. It's Book 11 in the series. As I was reading it, it dawned on me how this series reminded me of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.
It's a clean cut series and always a mystery to figure out.
The latest book in this series is a definite winner. The story relates in the early stages exploits of Napoleon's wars. It also brings out a new enemy called "the Faction".
The story with Harvey begins with the destruction of Harvey and Julie's house in addition to the headquarters. Unfortunately, not all of the individual in the group survive. Harvey receives a call from the individual whose son Ben killed when the story of the apes finished. The gentleman also was suing the group for damages. The individual requested Ben to search for an object alone and without his team. It was decided that the entire group would go. When they got to London, Ben and his team were attacked. At that time, they all thought it was associated with the individual that had Ben looking for an item. The team ultimately escaped with Ben and Reggie traveling to Switzerland while the rest of the group gather information. While Ben was away, the team met with two individuals that provided them with data. While talking with the 1st party, that individual was killed. The 2nd individual provided them with info which had the team start to go to Corsica. Upon further review of the data that Ben received, they found out that they really needed to go to Elba.
Ben and Reggie in the meantime also journeyed to Elba where they learned about the second group , "the Faction" were the ones that were trying to kill Ben and his team. In the meantime, Julie and the rest of the team also showed up at the same place. Here they were attacked by "the Faction" and barely escaped. At this location they located a coy of the item that the gentleman wanted Ben to find. In the attack this gentleman was killed, but provided Ben with information for his search. He was told that he needed to go to Corsica to get the entire story.
When Ben arrived, he met up with the last person he expected to see. He provided Ben with information that you will need to read the book to find out.
In order to discover all of the objects that were placed before the team and who died in the beginning, then you must read this book. The ending is well worth it.
Thacker has done it again. With each book in his Harvey Bennett series I think he has hit the mother lode. Then I read the next one and he’s topped the others with the historical facts and fictional leads arising from them. Each book takes you on a journey to multiple countries, with this one going from Alaska to England, Switzerland, France, Italy where you get a glimpse of each. Of course the travel isn’t the point of his books, but Harvey (Ben) and his CSO pals adventures, complete with more twists and turns then the book before it. This book does not disappoint and wow, the surprises in it that just have me salivating for book #12 to be published. I wish my mind could be so creative and 10 steps ahead as Thacker is in writing this series. I couldn’t put it down, but to tell you exactly what the book is about would be cheating a reader out of immense, highly constructive intrigues. Just get the book, or better yet all 12 and enjoy.
The Napoleon Job (Harvey Bennett #11), my twenty-fifth read from author Nick Thacker. What appeared to be a one-off with Thacker’s writing of The Enigma Strain was soon followed by The Amazon Code, then by The Ice Chasm, and then The Jefferson Legacy. The problem with writing a successful book is amplified in a successful series, the reader's expectations are that this book will be even better than the last, and this one is. I've somehow gotten behind in the Harvey Bennett series, the last one being The Aryan Agenda (Harvey Bennett #6). When I reviewed earlier Thacker books I commented that his writings were reminiscent of James Rollins and I'll say that with Thacker's track record I can't wait to read his next book, now I need to read The Book of Bones (Harvey Bennett #7)! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
When a team starts to feel as though they are running in circles how can you end it?
Wow, what a read! As we move on into the world of crime with an imaginary syndicate we are not aware of how do we remove it? So the team starts working with Tennyson, thinking he is the culprit. But, dead ends start to appear. Ben starts to move around investigating through out Europe not really solving the puzzle. Julie and Sarah giving some help but no concrete evidence. Finally the all get together and start to compare notes. Now you need to help by reading this to figure out what is going on!
Just when you think the CSO team has faced everything! A new villain comes along with much more destructive intentions. But who exactly are they fighting? This is a tough one for the team and they can't figure out exactly how to go about fighting this villain. I appreciated way their struggles were portrayed. We can see how the team is going to evolve. I like that there are possibilities for them to evolve. I never saw the twist coming and I have no clue what will happen next!
Ben and the CEO cream are thinking they are going to be able to stand down and relax. They are being sued so are good no new adventures, then their world literally explodes killing Mrs. R and destroying Ben's cabin. Sweating to take revenge they find themselves in Europe tracking a sword belonging to Napoleon Bonaparte. Always moving forward the crew find plenty of action and an ending that was definitely a surprise.
The Napoleon Job is a complex spiraling tale of plot, sub plot, and interwoven are the relationships of the characters. A cliffhanger of an ending only provides the ending twist to the spiral the author sends his reader on. It was a most enjoyable read. Well crafted and beautifully presented in a most entertaining style. I read it in one sitting...could not put it down.
This novel continues the nefarious science/history-based action-packed thriller stories of Harvey Bennett and the CSO. Several people from a previous story make are appearance, a surprising death, multiple acts of terrorism, feuding ' factions' and European travel all combine to make a nail-biting thriller that leaves things with a massive twist and an obvious enemy for future tales. Well worth reading.
After all the bombings, being shot at, taken as prisoner, being frozen in place. With the help of the team Ben was able to follow the clues That eventually landed the team in Corsica at the home of Tennyson. Tennyson has one more job for him. Ben is in for two very big surprises. A mystery is a mystery, I can say no more. Read this book, you won't be disappointed. While I go on to the next. Great job. Thank you.
Dear Mr. Thacker, this was my most interesting read (#11 in-a-row) of your Harvey Bennet adventures! I was at loss for such a long time while trying where you were going with your story line...BUT you came through with flying colors! At one point I doubted that I would start #12 soon... Imagine, I'm already 10% in #12!!! Thank you!! You have provided an aging (NOT old at 70!) man so many hours of captivating readings.
Wow! Words cannot express the upheaval felt at the end of this story. So much death and destruction.
Harvey and his team are taunted by a man whom they've had dealings with before. Their team is terribly damaged and they are out for revenge. There's a twist...and you don't necessarily see it coming.
Great read. Wonderful characters. Looking forward to more!
Intriguing tie-in to Napoleon and his secret society. Since I read an advance copy there were some minor head scratchers in the plot execution, which hopefully, he fixed in the final edition but it really didn't affect the over all plot line. The ending was definitely a twist and did not see it coming! Will be interesting to see where Harvey goes from here in the next CSO adventure!

The CSO has become quite talented at solving puzzles, but this one really took a toll on the team. This book starts out with a devastating blow to the team, and ends on a quite shocking note. This part of the series has finally helped me figure out why their benefactor is so mysterious. He else could you have a mysterious character with an ambiguous name? Mr. E > Mystery😎
Harvey Bennett and his cohorts have been called into action once more. This time Harvey is the one and only person who can handle this job. A shocking revelation awaits Bennett and the reader of The Napoleon Job.
This was a wonderful addition to the Harvey Bennett series. I think I enjoyed this one the best so far. It was full of action and suspense! I hope there will be more!
The storyline was imaginative and creative. Freddie was a great addition to the team. I like the books where the entire team is involved, like this one, better than when it is only Ben.
Over the past couple of weeks I have read the entire series of Harvey Bennett books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. They're my kind of thriller - lots of stuff going on, interesting quests and just enough romance to be interesting.
Harvey Bennett books aren't just good, they're great!
I've been following Harvey Bennett and his doings since Nick Thacker started writing them. They re great reads - well written, plausible and there's always another twist coming just around the corner!
Another adventure but this time with sadness mixed in. From Alaska to England to France to Switzerland to Elba and ending in Corsica, all action and explosives and guns with a paralyzing account.
It took me a while to get him the story as it kept jumping back-and-forth from France to England to Alaska. New characters were introduced but didn’t seem to have anything to do with the groups try to kill Bennett and his crew. There is a big twist at the end.
The sword of Austerlitz. Paralysis and survival. Seemingly unrelated "terrorist attacks" and historians of note come together to tell a story beyond imagination. Ben and his CSO crew find mythic instances reflected in horrific chaos. But they survive.
Ben is used to being chased by this is crazy. They are chased from one country to another and the mystery deepens! Can't wait for the next book! And Wow what an ending!!!!
First off let me say I love reading Nicks books. This one with Harvey and the gang was so good and the plot just kept getting tangled. Can't wait to start the next one.
Great story! Lots of action and puzzles. Excellent plot and wonderful characters. Ben is really coming into his own! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
I am a huge fan of Harvey Bennett adventures, but this one truly knocked my socks off. It was intense from the get-go, almost like sucking the air out of room!!!!! Could not put it down. The action did not let up right to the very end. As always, the best part of Nick’s books are the characters, and how he fleshes them out to make you feel you know them, and can anticipate the sometimes fatalistic humor and mutual respect. They did not disappoint this time. I was unsure about the direction the story was taking at the beginning, but by the time I got to the end, there were no doubts, the twists in the book were necessary, and now we wait for Book #12. I received an advance reader copy of this book, and I am thrilled to leave a review. As a believer in supporting new talented authors, I have also purchased my own copy of this book. Happy to recommend this book!
I was sent an ARC for my review. This story is fast moving with unexpected plot switches. I been following this series for years and this book's story line is as good as the first book.
