Fated Star Mates #1

Taken by the Alien Pirate

Rate this book
How did my quiet night out end with me unconscious in an alien's cargo hold?

Okay, I drank too much, but I swear I climbed into an Uber and not onto a spaceship. Or maybe the car hit me and I'm in a coma—one where I'm dreaming about big, blue alien men.

No. The massive muscles on the alien holding me are rock-hard and real.

I can't figure out if these men want to hurt or sell me, but one looks at me as if I'm more than a thing; his strange eyes filled with something bordering on reverence.

Call me crazy, but I think I've looked into his eyes before, and his touch scorches heat through my body until I ache to kiss him. There's definitely something growing between us—if you get what I mean...

Big Blue takes me away from the others, and as we can't communicate, I don't know if I can trust him. Not that I have much choice, but at least he's as protective as he is possessive. If only this surly, bossy alien could tell me what the strange mark is on my chest—and why I find him so damn attractive.

Hopefully, he'll use his impressive muscles, horns, and claws to protect me from the aliens we left on the ship. Because if they don't find me, we'll need to outrun others who want to take me from him.

My alien protector has his work cut out because I'm the most valuable commodity on his planet.

Taken by the Alien Pirate is a standalone, complete book with a happy ending. This novella is a prequel introduction to the Fated Star Mates steamy scifi alien romance series. If you love sexy aliens, strong heroines, and fated mates romance, you’ll love meeting the possessive and devoted men from the world of planet Vraxen. No cliffhangers or cheating, and a happy ending—always!

This is a short prequel novella to start the Fated Star Mates series. The script is simple, but I did enjoy the quick read. This copy is through kindle unlimited, but I had read it earlier from a copy provided free from author, but was unable to review at time.

This was a prequel to the series and it was an interesting start. I wish this had been a little longer because I feel like we were just getting to the start of the relationship between Lilly and Dev. I plan to start the series and I hope these characters show up again.

Getting drunk and abducted by aliens in the same night doesn’t sound like a fun time. Waking up in a cargo hold of a spaceship, meeting your alien mate, having a huge language barrier and not knowing what’s going on? Also scary AF. This was really good and I can’t wait to dive into more of this series.

Such an interesting universe. The characters are so sexy and sweet at the same time. I look forward to reading this series to see how this story arc progresses.

Look, I know these books are basically just alien kink in 80,000 words or less but would it really hurt for some of these gazillion authors out there to at least TRY to write a story to go with it?

The h in this has been ABDUCTED and yet all she can think about is alien dick. Really?? The POV of the H is more forgivable because, well, he is an alien so any of his mannerisms or thoughts can be taken with a grain of salt but, as a woman, I can safely say that were I to be abducted I wouldn’t find myself so relaxed that I wonder about getting some intergalactic action while I wait for rescue.

The point of a romance is the build up, the burn as the story progresses...this whole fated mates BS that’s become the norm is just an easy way for authors not to have to actually write a believable story.

Oh well. The search continues.

Three stars though because finishing a book of any ilk is very hard so good job there.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.

I enjoyed this book, I would rate it as good.

Although I have never been the biggest fan of a human just waking up on a space ship with no idea how they got there. How did the get off earth? how were aliens able to land on earth and find and steal humans? did they have human help to abduct humans?

this book contains soul mates but they spend most of the book being unable to communicate.

Is very weird and funny that an Alien has learnt English with Australian assent and slang words.

The book come to a weird end the couple finding a home with some outlaws not a home in eithers "home" I guess that gives them both an even keel but kind of sad that is their only real option.

This novel was very poorly written and edited. There were multiple typos per page, plus awkward or completely incorrect sentence structure. The reading experience was painful. There may be a decent story under the multiple quality control issues, but I DId Not Finish this story at the 25% mark because the quality control of this product was so terrible. I do not mind occasional typos, because I know how pernicious they can be, but this is unacceptable. A professional product that someone is selling for money needs to meet minimum quality standards, in my opinion.

Bentornate Fenici!

E in quale modo?

Libro consigliato.

Alla prossima

Un saluto dalla vostra Mal

i didn't really like this book, i didn't like the charaters and it ended really abruptly. the h wakes up realises she's been kidnapped (even if she doesn't know by aleins yet) and the first this she does it be worried about where her shoes went, not any of the other things you should be concerned about after being kidnapped just where did her fancy shoes go and i dont like how after meeting the H (before they could talk to each other) while he could just be someone there to sell her of who knows what the h immediately starts checking him out and wanting to do stuff with him, for all she's knows at the moment he was the one to kidnap her and has terrible plans in store for her but does she even think about that? no she just sees him and is just constantly thinking about jumping him.

I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review
My introduction to Kyla as an author is enjoyable. I loved the story line and the plot. Lilly is abducted and ends up in the "care" of Devos - a seven foot blue alien with horns and a tail. He recognises her as his "sol" alien speak on his planet for soul mate. So begins a journey - first to save her from corrupt pirates, then to get her to a place where he can get her a translator so he can understand what she is saying and vice versa, and finally get her to safety so they can begin their lives together. Even though he is huge and strong when he's with her he is so gentle, my heart bled. He is immediately devoted to keeping her safe and will do anything - even lay down his life for her. Their journey is full of light humor and I found it really easy to read and totally enjoy. I would have liked their new life together to be explored in more detail - maybe an idea for a further book about their lives in the Wastelands and their becoming a family with "tyks".
Highly recommend this author.

This was decently written, but I feel it ended before it should have. The heroin was likable and so was the hero and supporting cast. I enjoyed most of it and probably would have enjoyed it more if it felt completely finished. That being said, I do think it's worth reading.

My only issue with it below, which is highly based on my tastes and not completely based on the quality of the story.

Good start to what I hope is a promising series😊

I love books about fated mates. This one started out with Lilly our human female who was abducted from Earth after a night out with friends. She's in a cargo hold and one minute she's disoriented and th next a big blue alien with muscles upon muscles , horns and a tail shows up. Dev is An ex soldier working as a pirate. He wants to earn enough money to buy his own ship and move on from this so called partners be ahs. When he goes in to the cargo hold to make sure am is secure he finds a human woman hiding in the hold. He does not condone slave trade and refused to be a trafficker. He decides he's going to help her. The chemistry is good between them but I just felt the story was a bit rushed and the plot needed a bit more cleaning out . I felt like binge happened quickly but they were details that were lacking. It's an overall promising start and I think I'll check out the next book in the series to see how things develop. 💖💖💖💖

Intriguing

I have read both the prequel and the first book and it is a very interesting series. I am very happy to see a strong storyline that is as much a part of the story as the characters are. Many authors focus on the attraction between the two characters and devote 3 pages of dialogue describing a kiss. The storyline then becomes disjointed. Not with this book . While feelings are described they are done so without losing the story. This book has the best of both worlds. Intriguing characters and a great story. I am really looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend.

Exciting Read!

Loved this! Full of action and a great pace set. This is the story of Lilly and Dev. Lilly finds herself aboard a space craft, snatched from earth. There she meets Devos who is on board. He helps her before discovering a connection, then it's all out war to protect her from the crew. Dev's homeworld has suffered great loss with war and now works more as a space pirate. The two escape the craft so he can seek a translator for both to talk. Though conversation was rather amusing beforhand. Then they depart hoping for a safe haven. They deal with issues along the way as they grow together. This was a fun read and look forward to more.

An unhappy enjoyable read

This novel was an unexpected surprise as I downloaded it into my kindle half heartedly thinking it would be a meh read but it wasn't . It was surprisingly good with some humorous sections with in. The characters are really nice, kind and so sweet !! Ha especially when Deb out hero and protagonist swears if anyone hurt his Sol his mate he will find the enemy and ( to paraphrase ) rip off his head and present it to his beloved which clearly impressed his heroine, Lilly. Her thoughts were quite amusing!! Yes I did enjoy this novel so will be reading more of her books though I hope there are women from different cultures within future books

3/5🌶

Yay, more blue horned aliens with tails and fancy 🍆! At this point this is a genre unto itself. I do wonder though, why are they always blue? 🤔 Anyways, this was a decent intro novella to the series to follow. It just whets your appetite by teasing some plot and world building. The romance wasn’t spectacular, but considering the circumstances it made sense. This is a fast paced action read, and the Fated Mates trope is always a little lax on any buildup or connection. The smut was good, gotta love a man with a 6 inch long tongue. Overall, enjoyable. I’ll pick up the rest of the series when I have time.

"Protect those who cannot protect themselves."

Lilly expects to wake up uncomfortable after the way she partied, and drank, but when she opens her eyes and takes in her surroundings this is way worse than a hangover.

Dev has been getting by, getting by as low man on the totem pole and not making waves, but finding Lilly among the cargo changes everything.

This is a story about trust, communicating without a common language, and figuring out how to adapt, on the fly, to the most unexpected circumstances.

Fun, fast paced avdenture

Lilly is abducted by aliens a couple times over and ends up getting rescued by Dev who recognizes her as his mate and takes her on an adventure on the way to safety. It was fun to read how they managed to get over their language barrier and all the twists and turns of their journey to trust and love. I found this story and the developing overall story arc to be compelling enough to read the rest of the series. I like this author's writing style.

What a journey

What a journey! This story caught my attention right from the start. It is a bit more realistic than nother stories I read due to the fact that there is a language barrier until they find a solution. It is incredibly hot. I would love to meet a horned blue alien myself. I read this story in one shot. I could not put it down before reaching the conclusion. I highly recommend to the genre lovers.

Lilly wakes up in a room with metal walls and floors. She is so cold. The room looks like a place for storage with all the barrels and crates. When the door opens and a blue giant walks in Lily panics. This entire story is fun to read and includes violence, hair-raising moments, much steam, and ends in a HEA as weird as that sounds. Highly recommended.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Fated sol mates

An interesting alien abduction and fated mates story that also preaches the dangers of relying too heavily on technology. Nice details with the alien believing her tears or vomit might be venomous since her body appears too weak to fight off predators. Otherwise human and alien races share a lot of similarities that make things possibly a bit too easy. Still, a nice introduction to a series.

His unexpected sol mate

Absolutely loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it and hope that others enjoy it as much as I did. Finding a human female in the cargo hold was totally not what he expected but then finding out that she was his mate as she holds a part of his sol was really unexpected. Follow the characters as they escape the space ship and try to find a way to be together for Dev and Lilly know that they belong to each other.

I am cured?!

Listen I think this fixed my book slump! It was cute and fast paced enough that I didn’t have too much angst making me ponder if I wanted to finish the book. Dev is a basic cave man with manners, a cute face and assets we would kill for. Lilly we know, likes to drink and then get into Ubers that are questionable at best. I enjoyed this, it was nice and the smut was alright. Happy reading!

A short and simple prequel and it definitely read like one. It was entertaining to watch them interact even though they had the language barrier and the book is well written. Not much more to say I mean it’s a insta love/fated mates alien romance that’s very short and has almost no real conflict. Even at the beginning when he has to protect her it’s still so quick and magically solved by his skills that it’s just a little blip.

Great start !!

This was a very action-packed fast 1st book , I supposed. This book introduces this Vraxen males.

Dav has become a pirate in space. He used to be part of the Batillion but no longer. Becoming disillusioned , he left and never looked back . Until to
day.

Lilly has been through a lot. But nothing beats THIS !!!
As Lilly and Dev become acquainted and finally gain understanding, this book becomes even more interesting !! Loved it !!

His Sol

Dev the space pirate finds cargo he wasn’t aware of. That cargo happens to be Lilly, his sol mate. Once he realizes what Lilly is to him the adventure begins. I loved the world building and can’t wait to read more about it. Lilly has fire and Dev will learn that humans only appear weak and defenseless. Great job on this series starter!

I love space romance and this is a very sweet One. Dev is a huge strong warrior but when he fundos his Sol as a cargo to be sold he has to save her and tell her what She is to him. Lilly is fiery like all female humana and She is a match Dev. They don't even speak the same language but somehow they find a way. A great story with lots of aliens and space travel.

Interesting... Wasn't exactly what I was expecting. But after reading a few pages it became clear it was very cleverly written. A tale that kept me entertained until I finished it in one sitting. Now on to the next one. Love those Aliens with horns.....

Cute! I read this series all out of order so I might have felt differently if I read this one first. But I just liked others in this series more. As a prequel, this does it’s job really well introducing you to some central characters and setting the stage for the following books. Dev & Lilly are so cute together. I love how protective he is.
