Guarding the Witness

When a witness becomes a target…

Copycat Killer by Laura Scott

When a double homicide is strikingly familiar to a twenty-year-old cold case, Detective Nate Slater is rattled by the parallels. With a child as the only witness, he and his K-9 partner must protect little Lucy and her aunt, Willow Emery. Nate’s rough past means he always keeps an emotional distance…but in this case, getting closer is the only way they’ll all survive.

Chasing Secrets by Heather Woodhaven

After Karenna Pressley stumbles upon a ruthless drug dealer trying to drown her best friend, she’s on his hit list—and out of places to run. Her ex-boyfriend, K-9 officer Ray Morrow, is determined to keep her safe with his drug-detecting spaniel, Abby. But with danger stalking them, will their reunion be a chance for a fresh start or the end for them both?

Two K-9 officers find love with the women who are in their care.

Enjoyed being with Laura again. Heather was a new author for me. Nate and Willow story was exciting from start to finish. Nate came into Willow and Little Lucy to protect them. Lucy folks had just been killed. Both she and Willow needed his protection. She also was in the crosshairs of her boss where she worked. As they were together Mate fell in love with Lucy and Willow. But he felt he wasn't right for them. Willow changed his mind on that. After the got the bad guys he was able to declare his love an intent for Willow and Lucy. Ray and Karenna story was one of renewed love. He came on her just when she needed him. He became her protector until the bad guy was caught. They renewed their love and Ray let go of some things. He was able to ask her to be apart of his life. Looking forward to the rest in this K-9 Brooklyn series.

Who did it

Loved the story, but it's not complete. It left me hanging. I really don't like stories that are not complete in one book.

Double the trouble

These are the first two stories in the Brooklyn k-9 series. Very excellent beginning and two incredible couples. Plus, the continuity is excellent
