Accidentally Married to a Demon

Rate this book
Better the devil you know--or the one you accidentally married...

Adventure is not my middle name. It’s not even a nickname I once got after a few drinks and a lot of bad judgment. No, Adventure is not something you’d associate with a safe, risk-averse witch like me. And I’m fine with that.

But then...things start changing. One phone call spun my safe life right out of orbit. My late aunt just left me a vineyard in the middle of Transylvania.

Transylvania!

And it only gets weirder and worse from there. There’s a demon I accidentally married, and he’s literally the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. Oh, and let’s not forget about the vampires threatening my life...yeah, things have gotten exponentially worse.

But the worst part is that my demon husband is hiding more than the secrets of my inheritance, which given my newfound luck just might do me in before the vamps get their chance.

Mom always did say marriage was hell. If only she knew how right she was…

Again, outside my comfort zone, went for a quick funny and steamy read, or so I thought...
This was so much more. I was very pleased for being surprised by this one.
It all started when Nilsa was fired...
description
description
So, without job and with the death of her aunt, Nilsa inherit a vineyard in Transylvania 🤪

Where she has a great welcome 🤭
description
Rog its his name...
She has to sign some papers, and...
description
When she wakes up...
description
She's married to Rog (ohhh, that's such a misfortune) 😂 🤣
description
That's also a demon 👹 and they made a blood contract.
description
Nilsa has to stay in Transylvania, she's meeting some of the locals and making some friends among them.
description
description
She tries to leave the contract, so she makes a deal with the vampires
description
The relationship between Nilsa and Rog evolves...
She meets lot of mythical creatures
description
They have to fight for their lives.
description
description
description
description
description
Ohhh... Btw... Nilsa is a witch 😉
description
And Rog is such a sweet and hot demon...
description
This ends with a cliffhanger, or not... But for what I've read, should be a second book. Can't wait to read more about Nilsa and Rog, I really loved them...
And what's all about the blood contract and Rog past.

So...
Welcome to Transylvania, where nothing is what it seems.
Hope you enjoy the ride...

Fun

I have to confess to being a huge fan of this author so when I saw a new book I just had to have it. We meet Nissa as she loses her job and finds out about an Aunt dying leaving her inherit a vineyard in Transylvania. Little did she know it came with a demon as well as a contract. This makes for a fun read ad it all plays out only to give us a surprise at the end. Makes for a fun read. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

I'd already tried two Mila Young books before coming across this one. I have to admit that the previous books were not my thing. There's nothing wrong with her books. I understand why people love her books so much and why she's incredibly popular. But it's not for me. However, since this is a novella and since I'm all for giving people new chances, I decided to give this author one last try when I got offerend this arc and I really hoped that this time it would click.

However, although there were a lot of elements in this story I liked, there is just one main element, that seems to be in all her books, that just doesn't work for me. Her characters really connect on a physical level, but I get the feeling there isn't too much of an emotional connection there. At least, in this book I really had no idea when and how the characters emotionally connected. They barely talked, they barely tried to get to know each other. Even I barely got to know the demon involved. And since for me the emotional connection needs to be there to really understand the appeal of the physical connection, it just doesn't work.

What elements of this story did I like? I really liked the blogposts the main character was writing. They were short, but they really gave an insight in what kind of journalist she was, what kind of life she had lead and what kind of people would read her blog. I think the main character was done quite well anyway. We really got to know her, without long info dumps or very lengthy explanations, and it was easy to connect with her and to understand her motivations.

I also liked the idea of a demon bound to a property and tricking a young girl into being tricked with him. I liked the way it was done, I liked the mythology of the place where this book was set and I enjoyed meeting the different people and characters in this town and getting to see more fantasy creatures in a contemporary setting. I also really loved the council and the games they were playing, especially the excitement it brought.

But, since the characters, their emotional connection and emotions in general are for me the main reason to enjoy and love a story, I think it's time to accept that Mila Young, no matter how amazing her ideas are, is just not for me.

A great read the you can do on one sitting/day.

Nissa is the main character in this book and she has a fantastic sarcastic manner that will have you chuckling throughout. She has recently become single, lost her job, and to top it off her aunt has die. This week couldn’t get any worse... or could it. When her aunt’s lawyer gets in touch he informs Nilsa that she’s to inherit a vineyard in Transylvania, and that’s where the weirdness begins.

This is a very good, quirky, quick read that will have you flipping the pages and wanting more when it ends. The characters all have their own personality and they all work really well together. A 4.5 star book that includes witches, demons, and vampires. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Nilsa (FMC) gets left a Vineyard in Transylvania by a long forgotten aunt (being that shes lost touch with all her family). Except when she gets there she finds Blood Demon - Rog is the welcoming committee bringing his own complications. The relationship between Nilsa & Rog is a steamy but sweet one too. I cant wait to read more from them both. I really liked this short read. Bring on the next book

Accidentally Married to a Demon: Fiend’s Peak is a paranormal romance novel by Mila Young. The author introduces readers to Nilsa Kane. Nilsa is working as a junior editor, until she gets the news that she’s getting let go along with her other fellow junior editors in the name of “budget cuts.” Nilsa doesn’t know what she’s going to do next when she gets a phone call she never saw coming. Her maternal aunt has passed away and left her a vineyard in a foreign country. Whether Nilsa intends to keep the property is anyone’s guess, but regardless she MUST go there first. Nilsa has no idea what is waiting for her there as she makes this unexpected trip to a place that time has only lightly touched.
Accidentally Married to a Demon is a mixed bag of a story for me. The beginning of this book piques my interest as I’m curious as to how Nilsa is going to handle the changes that life is throwing at her. She seems to be taking things in stride overall which I like. However, once she gets over in Romania, it seems that the story gets a bit derailed. The flow, for me, breaks down and I lose some interest in the story. Nilsa meets Rog and the pace becomes a bit sluggish. She takes the situation in stride which is really shocking in comparison of how I thought it would play out. She’s found herself tricked by him into something that she really didn’t want. I expect her to freak out (like a stereotypical character would) but she doesn’t. I think the mundane is what throws me, because things seem so ordinary between the characters and then the author throws some heated moments in there. It doesn’t really come together for me.
While this story does go off the rails from time to time, when it regains itself I’m pulled back in and eagerly page-turning. There are some nice surprises and twists in this story. I think that it could use some better build-up in places. The author gradually feeds readers some side characters and then reveals some truths about not just them, but the surrounding area as well. I like that part of the story because it pulled me in and made me eager to read more.
I’m rating this book 3.8 out of 5 stars. This book, for me, falls short of what I have come to expect from this author. I feel that she loses the flow of the story in places, and then has to find her stride again to regain it. There are some good moments and those help pull me back in and through, but this isn’t one of my favorites by this author.

Nilsa is having a bad day. She's fired from a job she loves, she sees her ex with his new girlfriend, and she finds out her aunt has passed away. At least the aunt has left her some property, but in Transylvania? To claim the vineyard which she can then sell, Nilsa has to go to the place. There she is tricked into a contract with a hot demon named Rog and cannot leave. Nilsa is determined to find a way to break the contract, but that deal might be worse than the first and she could find herself dead rather than just married to a demon!

This cozy paranormal romance was a lot of fun. There is great world building with the vineyard, the little village, and the paranormal beings there. We don't learn too much about them or the demon, but it is only the first book in the series. There is so much that can open up! Nilsa is smart and independent, and she knows her mind. She stands her ground with everyone. Even with Rog, the gorgeous demon who tricked her into the contract. Yet he isn't vicious or mean. He's actually kind of sweet. A man who cooks every night? Yes, please! The tension is sizzling between the two of them, and I can't wait to see where this series takes them.

Nilsa has just lost her job as a junior editor. She is finds out her aunt has left an estate in Transylvania. She must go there to claim ownership. Nilsa's Aunt comes to her dreams to tell her she has to keep the land in their family. Nilsa decides that she is going to go there to see about the property.
Nilsa makes it to the vineyard. She is thrown by the neglect of the land. She meets a man that she has a reaction to. He tricks her into a blood contract. He is also bound to the land as she is now. Nilsa is trying to figure why out of this contract. She makes friends with a local man, she learns there is a lot more to the people. Nilsa finds out there is a way out of contract but at what cost.

This was a interesting read. Nilsa is a young witch that doesn't practice her magic at all. She is estranged from all her family. Nilsa will fight the contract and do whatever she can to break it. Nilsa is seems to drawn to the man that tricked her. I enjoyed this story, I feel like the relationship between the two was a little rushed. Look forward to reading the next book

A funny little adventure full of unpredictable magical contracts, sexy and a little exotic demon, and ancient vampires playing not so nice games.
When Nilsa lost her job, her dreams definitely did not involve unexpected heritage in Romania, being bound to a vineyard, or getting married to a demon without her previous willing consent. Now that she landed in this mess, she has to make the best of the situation, trying to get out of the contract using every means possible - only, in the end, it is not exactly clear if she still wants to abandon the place and the demon at her side..
This fast-paced story is a great entertainment and a page turner, which lightened my mood and made me read through the pages as lightning speed. Nilsa seems to attract every kind of trouble imaginable, but on the other hand, has the warm heart and good nature that unites people of any origin - fae, demons, witches. If only this worked on the vampires, too... but after the ghostly visit, there is promise of a lot more going on, and I am looking forward to the next book.

“Accidentally Married to a Demon” is an odd book, quite enjoyable in a way, but more of a sounding board for future books than offering any exploration of some of the issues raised.
In particular, Nilsa is a non-practicing witch but seems to be quite powerful, even without either training or experience.
Also, while there are many allusions to previous events, few are explained.
The story begins with Nilsa losing her job, waking up with a hangover after a night out with her former colleagues, inheriting a vineyard in Transylvania after the death of her aunt Martha, and being tricked by a blood demon into a marriage pact which also binds her to the vineyard.
Getting out of the blood pact involves a deal with vampires, if she doesn't fulfill their conditions she's toast.
And, just to make it more interesting, the longer she spends with the demon, Rog, the more she is attracted to him …
The finale is a bit of over-the-top fun and very end is quite funny.
It's ideally placed for a second book, I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

Mila Young has proven that she, as a whole, is without question far more than just the sum of her parts. I have read a great number of Ms. Young's books. Some are good, some are better than good, and some have left me scratching my head wondering if she was sleep-writing while channeling the ghost of a remedial math teacher. This is something more!

This book contains notes of all 3, blended into subtle depths and nuances that snuck up on me and held me spellbound. When the last page turned and I realised that the book was over, I shook my head and tried to figure out where the previous chapters had gone.

This is a book I will re-read at least once before book #2 is released, just so I may more rapidly dive in headfirst to meet Nilsa, Rog, Bram, Dracul, Cretu and the rest of Fiends Peak and continue the adventure.

Read the fine print. And watch for the pricking things!

There’s nothing like losing your job, finding out your favorite relative died and left you a vineyard in Transylvania. Except being tricked into a blood contract with a demon that leaves you bound to said vineyard and the bride-to-be to said demon.

How is Nilsa going to manage this one? She’s gotta figure out a way to break the contract and get home to New York, but has no idea how to start. Why couldn’t her aunt leave her some books, maybe the. She could study her witchcraft without actually practicing, yeah?

The introduction to the Fiend’s Peak series is full of laughter and intrigue as Nilsa learns a little more about the world around her and strives to meet fantastical challenges. Along the way she learns about the town she lives near and fights a growing attraction to the demon in her wine cellar.

This book opens up a whole new world of possibilities, ones I had really never considered before. This was a different look at magic and magical creatures and I really appreciated that uniqueness. I’m still not totally sure about my feelings for Nilsa. There were times I found it very easy to sympathise with her circumstances, but there were other times that I wanted to shake her for her naivete. Rog intrigues me. I’m not quite one hundred percent in love with him yet. However, I very badly want to know more; about him, about Nilsa and her bloodline and why it’s so important, and about Fiend’s Peak as a whole.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through Black Cat.

A fun romp through Nilsa's life

Nilsa, a witch playing human, inherits a vineyard in Transylvania and encounters Rog, the ‘caretaker’ and unknown magical being, at the entrance when she arrives. As the story progresses unintended consequences occur, unexpected friends are found, and trying to remove herself from the situation may just make things worse. Mila Young’s Accidentally Married to a Demon is a fun romp through Nilsa’s life after some major changes that could have dangerous consequences if terms are not met. I look forward to reading about how she will deal with Rog and the other members of the community in future books.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This was a great quick read for me. It was light and fun. There are a few mysteries to keep me intrigued. I love the ending and cant wait for book two.

This book follows a young witch who has turned her back on her magic. Nilsa was working as a junior editor, but lost her job. The day after she lost her job, she got a phone call from a law agency notifying her that her Aunt Moira has passed away. Her Aunt left her a Romanian Vineyard. There is a stipulation that she must travel there to accept it or turn it down. Once there she meets Rog who works there. This is where the story really takes off. Nilsa accidentally gets tricked into a blood contract.

Will Nilsa learn to use her magic again and break free? Read and Find out.

The day definitely didn't end how Nilsa expected it to, in fact, I don't think her week did either. Accidentally Married to a Demon is a short, enjoyable read from Mila Young that I didn't want to put down. After being left a vineyard in Transylvania by her late aunt, Nilsa finds herself pulled into a life she had been trying to avoid. She may be a witch, but she just wants to be normal.

Tricked into a contract she unwillingly signed Nilsa finds herself in a situation she didn't want to be in and trying to find a way out, but she can't dismiss the connection she feels for Rog, the man who tricked her.

This was a great introduction to Fiend's Peak, and the readers are definitely left with an intriguing cliffhanger. One which I hope to find more about in the next book.

I loved this book from the beginning. It was an easy read and kept me interested all the way through.

Nilsa was a great character, I loved her humour and sarcasm and her easy going personality. Rog was a little mysterious but a good guy despite being a demon.

Nilsa's aunt has left her a rundown vineyard but once she arrives she find out that the surrounding village is not all it seems.
Her plan is to sell up and leave, but it doesn't quite work out that way when she finds herself blood bound to a demon and the vineyard with no way out.

I can't wait to read the next book and find out more about the other characters from the village.

I enjoyed this very much! What an unusal take on the paranormal.

Nilsa is a witch, but she likes to play like she is human. She inherits something in Transylvania and must go and see what she needs to do with it. There she meets Rog, who is unknown to her. She knows he is magical but does not know what. Things start happening pretty fast for her. She meets new people, and just honestly her trying to fix what she caused just cracked me up. This was so entertaining.

The pace was fast, the characters were so dang interesting and the plot was fun. I very much look forward to seeing what happens next with Rog and the rest of the group.

I really love this author and their work and this one was a lot of fun. This was a different take on magic and mythical creatures which I loved! Nilsa was a fun character and she kept on making interesting choices. She inherited a vineyard and meets a bunch of strange and interesting people. Though she does get tricked into a blood contract and winds up being a bride to a demon who she doesn’t know. She had turned her back on the magic a long time ago and now she might just need that magic to try to figure all this out and how to get back to her normal life. This book made me smile a lot and I loved it so much!

A fun and romantic paranormal story that is the bevy to a new series. Nilsa is a witch but one that doesn’t want anything to do with it. Instead she lives in NYC and loves being a journalist. But it seems fate and some family have other plans for her. Before you know it she’s in Transylvania and getting setup with a demon. The story is quite adventurous and funny. Danger will come at her but will it be a demon or something else? You need to read this one if you love a good laugh, a budding romance and danger. Can’t wait for book two to see what more trouble she can get into.

This was a quirky, fun read. Nilsa finds herself unemployed in NYC and on the same day finds her long lost has passed away and left her a Vineyard in Transylvania. She quickly finds out everything isn't glorious and nothing is as it seems. Denying her heritage could be a disaster for her unless she embraces it. Then there is the demon Rog who tricks her into a contract and she despises him. Trying anything to get out of the contract is what causes her complications, but along the way she has come to care for the demon and the others around her. I highly recommend reading this book!

Really cute, cool, cosy, rom-com, short (for Mila) story.

This is the perfect story to curl up to on a rainy day or when you want to relax.

It's beautifully written as usual and has a well-developed plot and characters you fall in love with. A fun, witty and sarcastic FMC is always a win in my eyes. ( So is a sexy demon)

The plot was interesting and easy to grasp so the book was a nice light easy read!

It's a brilliant read that is on my re-read pile for when I fancy a cosy story with a sexy demon and a sassy witch. Can't wait for book 2!

An enjoyable read. Nilsa (I love the unique name!) loses her job and then through her auntie’s death, finds herself the unhappy owner of a vineyard in Romania. Of course this European country is the home of many well-known fairytales and fantasies, so magic is afoot! As the title suggests, Nilsa is tricked into marrying a demon and several more unfortunate events occur, as a result. It’s an interesting story with an unexpected twist at the end! I look forward to discovering more about Nilsa’s powers and what trouble she’s found herself in now!

I really enjoyed this! The story and characters were interesting, but I honestly believed this was a simple novel.
I was all for the story. I loved how the chemistry between Rog and Nilsa grew and how you could connect with the rest of the characters as well.
I was, however, hoping the story would end with this book. But in all honesty, I am not complaining. I really want to see Rog and Nilsa grow more closer and see how the rest plays out. Apparently there is more to Nilsa than she even realizes herself. I am definitely going to keep a lookout for the next book!

Mila Young like always has started off a new series with a bang! This is a unique universe that Mila has created in this book....this is a quick, fast paced read that kept me interested all the way through. There are some great laugh out loud moments but also I thought a Nilsa would have learnt not to sign anything that she has not read or promise anything to supernatural person! I really like Rog and Nilsa together and cannot wait to see them develop more in the next book. Bring on book two!

Never accept a surprise inheritance from long lost witchy relatives 😉. In one day the main character is suddenly fired and learns she must fly to Transylvania to claim her brand new property. Life will never be the same again. Filled with witty banter, occasional snark, supernaturals galore, and one vineyard in disrepair. What could possibly go wrong *wink*. Such a fun read, and I can't wait go see what's next.

Good book. Really enjoyed this read.
Nilsa recently single and on the verge of loosing her job.. wait no.. has just lost her job, is not having the best of luck right now and then to really top her week of her aunt dies. Life could not get any sucky and a trip to the vineyard she just inherited might be what she needs to start thinking straight... or to start thinking of ways to get out of the marriage she has stumbled into.
This was a brilliant read. I really hope there will be more.

Such a fun story! The story picks up quickly and holds your attention for the entire book! Nilsa is this fun independent FMC that is trying to stay far away from the supernatural world until she is pulled back in by the passing of her aunt. She has to fight to figure out what she really wants but also staying true to herself. It’s a fun quirky read that will get you laughing and will keep you wanting more! Fabulous! 💜🖤

Nilsa is tricked into signing a blood contract which binds her to a demon and just may be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire when trying to get out of it! Enjoyable read with a good storyline and likeable characters (I particularly liked Dracul). Until a few months ago I had never heard of Mila Young but she is fast becoming an author where if her name is on the cover I am going to read it!
