Your past has a way of coming back to haunt you. It’s worse when you’re a man like Keo, who has done a lot of very bad things, sometimes to very bad people. Those were the good ol’ days.
These days, everything is a little more complicated.
Sent to Shaker Town on a spying mission, Keo has instead left the place on the run. The mission itself is an unmitigated failure. Now Keo has to evade an army of killers and a man with a very big grudge to settle with him.
Lara won't be pleased either to know that Keo (the name Horatio was already taken) is messing around with that blue eyed ghoul Merrick. Keo's in pretty bad shape. All beat up by Merrick and some of its friends. But all that mattered was getting back to Lara before she dropped the baby out. Boy or girl, Keo won't care. Healthy, ten fingers, ten toes, one head - you know - healthy!
Keo always brings a fight and the truth wherever he goes. One thing he really hates is fighting with a blue eyed ghoul. Especially Merrick. But Merrick has Claire, and Lara wants her back. Safe! Keo has his work cut out for him.
Tried and true characters against the ghouls. Maybe the ghouls are a little bit better now, maybe the troops are beat up and tired, but maybe there's more of the story to tell. The storyline will twist and it's sure to throw a loop around Keo, but the story goes on. And it's a great read!
Keo is at it again, running and gunning. A decent storyline for what should be a novelette. The author should take 4 or 5 of these novelettes and make one decent size novel. The character arc has pretty much stayed the same from story to story. Shoot some bad guys, mess with some ghouls, and save the girl. It does make for some entertaining reading. You could possibly skip a story and really not miss much of the plot for the next in the series.
I'm not a fan of overly long sequels but I have never gotten tired of Keo and what he's got going on. Is it weird to say I have a crush on a fictional character? His snark, loyalty, bravery and sheer will to survive against something so dreadful and unholy makes him one of my all time favorite characters.
Another excellent story in the series that I have read from book 1 all those years ago - as always great plot and I love Keo character - wow ghouls who have evolved - scary
I miss Danny and Will, but Keo is okay. He’s as big a smartass/badass as the other two. One of the few post-apocalyptic stories that hasn’t wandered too far from the original theme.
Once again a great quick read about Keo's adventures!
Keo and his mission to find out what secrets Buck is trying to hide. A few new characters and a bunch of old characters we learn about. As usual there's plenty of action from start to finish. Enjoy
Keo is still running and gunning. However, I’d like to know just who the hell is Buck (Bell), what did he have in that barn in Fenton and what’s his relationship with Merrill.
Anyhow, looks like Norris and crew are in trouble can Keo and Black Tide save the day?
