How the heck fish could be THAT cute and adorable and clingy my gawddd and their fish babies 😭
Less drama but still a good plot with full on whipped ML with his fish. It is well written and the pacing also great. Not too fast, not too slow.

I loved this silly book so much!! I saw someone recommending this on Reddit, I was curious and looked it up... Best decision ever 😂. I had so much fun while reading. The MC is hilarious, and the problems he ended up getting involved with were unexpected and funny. There was a sweet love story too and by the end they had the cutest babies 🥹. A refreshing read, totally recommend this!

After a lot of delays, I finally read the fish story. I honestly enjoyed reading this one a lot. This is more on the lighthearted side as I expected, though there's a little bit mystery and secrets happening inside the imperial palace that involved the ML. The plot is not that deep. The majority of the plot surrounded the MC and ML's relationship but more of the mystery unfolded in the latter part.
Our ML might be mute and couldn't express what he wanted to say most of the time but he's the most considerate, doting and devoted lover you could have possibly known. With his always calm demeanor and stern face, you wouldn't expect him to be so pampering and caring, but he is. MC didn't even need to say what he needed, ML is either already on his way to get it or he already got it. He's a character you would loved to have as a lover.
The MC on the other hand is not the brightest character. Maybe because he transmigrated into a fish, his brain turned into fish's as well. Yes, he is innocent and naive but he's also beyond that. He's a little slow and silly, sometimes made decisions that is quite questionable . Sometimes it's annoying and frustrating to read him because of how fool he is, but I couldn't deny that sometimes it's also adorable, depending on the situation he's in. What I don't like is when he acted so hypocrite. His character developed over time though so it's not a reason to dislike him. I still enjoyed reading his shenanigans.
I think my most favorite part of this novel is the four fish babies. They're the most adorable little buns and their existence definitely added not only to the plot but also to the charm of the whole novel itself.
I recommend this to anyone, as long as you know not to take this seriously. You have to suspend disbelief with this one but overall a very amusing and delightful read.

Best five days of my life omg
I literally spend my time just reading it honestly not a time wasted I enjoyed it 😭 BLOB
The fillers chapters doesn't even like fillers it just fun and entertaining it doesn't make me bored.
And I swear Li Yu is such a good parents to these kids and he's so great of a person but I don't like how he responded to tianchi insecurity with his muteness like it could've been better but it's not like harsh or anything but he could've word it better.
Even tho they were faced with so many trivials and tribulations you won't need to worry because the next pages it'll literally get solved so this is pretty much an easy read throughout even tho this has almost 2000 pages it really doesn't feel like it to me.
Also these quadruplets are so cute and I love the scenery the author's paint you really feel like you were in the book experiencing it with them and I love the fairy tale aspect and sci fi system plot.
I wished I could say more but I don't know these two really completed each other!!!!.

I was seduced by the Thai art covers, I wasn’t even planning on reading this soon but then I saw the art 💞
This was such a cute read, LY was such an obviously cutie who would try to help MTC the best he could. And MTC was ruthless, yet so loving towards LY and the kids. I knew in the beginning that this would be mpreg, so I prepared myself and oml the babies were such cuties. I loved them as a family, and LY/MTC were such a cute couple and a power couple too. Since LY comes from modern times, he brought modern ideas that MTC accepted. LY was horrible at keeping his identify as a fish “demon” hidden to the point where MTC would help cover for him.

July 26, 2025I’m shelving this at 24%, not because it isn’t good, but because life got in the way. I developed eye inflammation from dryness and had to stop reading for a while, switching to spoken content on iOS Kindle so I could “listen” instead of “read.”
Now that my eye is slightly better, I plan to go back to reading, even though the doctor advised less screen time. I’ll just use my drops religiously and hope for the best.
This DNF has nothing to do with the book itself it’s entirely for personal reasons, so I won’t be giving it a rating. It was fun to read, honestly, but I think I need a fresh start.

Hace tiempo que no leía sobre algo ambientado en la antigüedad, esto definitivamente me hizo querer volver a leer danmei. Una historia bastante meng meng y ligera, aunque me gustaría que tuviera extras. Apesar de esto, tiene un buen cierre.

A pesar de que es una historia linda y divertida. Tuve dificultades para engancharme, ya que sentía que todo iba bien, que los conflictos se resolvían rápido, y que era muy predecible. Tal es así que, más de la mitad de la novela pude conectar y disfrutar.
Pero eso no quiere decir que no lo recomiende, disfruté mucho del amor de los protagonistas, no lo sentí tan empalagoso o extremedamente dulce (siendo que soy el tipo de persona que le incomóda eso); cuando Li Yu le dice "maridito" a TianChi, me causaba mucha risa y creo que por eso seguía leyendo; y el final, diooos me lo imaginé y lit estaba así 😭

February 15, 2024I guess this is a lesson for me to start paying attention to the tags on stories.
Not gonna lie, I picked this one up half because I was intrigued and half because I was very very disturbed. But I do love a nice pathetic Chinese yaoi (*the milder, not as graphic kinds) so I figured “what do I have to lose?”
Well. My sanity, apparently.
From the first few chapters I figured that this would just be a nice, silly, wholesome, not too graphic, casual read about a man and his pet fish/boyfriend, which is mildly messed up but still in a funky way (and still excusable if you wish — for example the fact that the protagonist is a fish and the male lead wants to sleep with his human form even when he knows dude is a fish can be excused by the fact that the dude was originally human and can in fact take human form).
For about 81 chapters this continued, and I felt myself casually enjoying it, even though quality-wise it isn’t the best piece I’ve ever read.
But my god did chapter 82 slap me in the face. So not only does this read have mpreg, it is also FISH mpreg. Yes, the dude impregnates his boyfriend (the fish) when he is in his human form, and then that boyfriend, IN HIS FISH FORM, has to give birth to the dude’s babies. I’m sorry— what?
I was expecting some wild shit. I also have to say that, even though I’m ace (in the sex-repulsed way) and thus not very into bedroom scenes and the like (dare I say “I read romance for the plot”), I have gotten used to tolerating quite a lot of stuff and can quite easily read past things I’m not entirely comfortable with.
But this did it for me.
I closed the webpage and tried my best not to think of it again, although that in the end appeared to be quite hard.
Not even reading the last few (lowkey messed up) Twilight books as a probably too young kid did to me what this just did. I think I might be slightly traumatized.
Another disclaimer before I close it off like this — I really did enjoy the first 81 chapters (I would even go so far as to give it about 3,5 stars just as a decent casual read), and it is absolutely my fault for not checking the tags and, by basing my opinion on the early chapters, tricking myself into thinking it was gonna be chill and I was gonna be chill with it.
I may at some point try to continue reading this because I really was kinda interested in the overall plot, but I probably have to consult a therapist first.

this. was. soo. cuuteee!! got me sobbing and shih after being overfed with dog food T^T this is my first five star read of the year, there's not a single thing i didn't like in this book (except that non-consensual kiss at the beginning, it gave me a little ick but jing wang realized his mistake and properly apologized so ehh that's fine, theres so many gongs who do way worse things than this) everyone got what the deserved.
i couldn't even dislike princess langya and chu yanyu. they were just deprived of happiness and love. had the princess' father not gifted her to the emperor to save his neck, her story probably would have been so much different, she probably would have been an intelligent and badass queen. chu yanyu is a type of person who would do anything and by that, i mean literally anything for love, the issue is that he just loved the wrong person, which made him like this (dang at this point i'm so close to becoming a chu yanyu apologist).
li yu was a silly (really intelligent) and kind little fish, and jing wang was an alienated (because of his disability) prince who seeked company and love just like any other human being but never showed it, that is, until he met li yu. they were made for each other, so they found eo and changed eo's lives for the better.
also, loved wang xi! wang gonggong was there with jing wang through thick and thin, when he could have easily left to seek shelter under some different prince's wing. wang gonggong deserves more praise!! (and the world)
sobs again, i'm gonna miss my cutie patootie grandchildren sm T^T!!! i absolutely did not forget about them!! they were literally the highlights of the book (for me)! my only regret is i'll never get to squish their chubby cheeks. T^T
honorable mention, jin jiu princess, she was so cool while rejecting the second prince!! ye qinghuan, best cousin, ever!! piao xue!! best cat ever!!

This was extremely silly and had basically zero tension but it was also fun to read for the most part! Until the end when everything was just Too Convenient and Perfect. Like c'mon there was basically zero incentive for anyone to care about the last set of tasks the fish had to complete it's not like it made a difference. And the most interesting part at the end was when they went to the modern world for a couple of days and instead of idk doing anything with it they just bought a bunch of condoms so he wouldn't get pregnant again soon. But the first half? Great, excellent, loved how they learned to communicate. Second half? Boring everything works out perfectly whatever nonsense.

Está historia está interesante, la verdad si es una historia que recomendaría, es muy linda, hay comunicación ✨ y los últimos 3 caps me encantaron porque solo había visto algo así en un juego otome (Arabian nights)
Pero personalmente la historia nunca me atrapó 😔👊 osea nunca me aburrí, no es una historia pesada ni nada de eso PERO ME COSTO MAS DE UN MES TERMINAR DE LEERLA 🕴️osea si la disfrute, no digo que no, pero no sé, simplemente está novela y yo nunca pudimos hacer click

Es una novela muy linda, tenía miedo de que me fuera a aburrir después de un rato pero te mantiene atrapado, tiene una muy buena combinación de comedía y drama político que no se siente para nada pesado.

it took me so long to finish this one because there’s not really any angst. 100% fluffiness everywhere and anywhere, which is not bad but just not my thing. I’d recommend it to anyone who only wants that in a story

this was such a fun read imo. i first saw this book on twt and i knew what was gonna happen at times (i.e; the mpreg and mer seggs), yet it still took me by surprise.
overall, this book was so silly and it didnt have too much drama. for those that like light reads with just a little sprinkle of politics, this might (since i understand it might not be ur cup of tea) be the one!!
