The first time she healed me, I was in fourth grade. I slid into home plate and snapped the bone in my lower leg. The white, blinding pain was excruciating, and I screamed and cried like a little girl. The umpire, my coach, and I all swore we could hear the bone crack. We won the game, but I ended up in the ambulance on the way to the emergency room. We figured I would be out of the playoffs, but I was back for the next game.
She’s a voice in my head. Not in the sense of, “Wow, Jagger DeWinter is so weird. He hears voices.” But an actual person. She knows me. Or rather we know each other, only she has never given me her name. I knew her only as Her, but I also called her Supergirl. I mean, somebody that could communicate with you through their mind and heal your wounds and illness has to be some kind of superhero, right?
What if you could communicate with someone through your mind, but they didn't tell you their name? What if that person could heal your body through a psychic link? They would become the center of your existence. You would love them with your entire being. And you would protect them with your life.
One day, I was a pitcher on my high school baseball team, a boyfriend, a brother, a son. The next day, I was a pawn in a centuries-old feud between another species of human and she was the only thing that could hold me together.

I am a newbie to this author and I came across this book browsing and figured i would give it a shot! I am so glad I did. I have never read anything like this before and I definitely need more!! This storyline and characters are so unique that I couldn’t put this book down! I can’t wait for book 2!
This is my first book from this author and oh my this book was amazing. I was looking for something different to read, so took a chance on this one. I throughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one in series! It had my attention right from the start and kept me turning the pages until the end.
This was interesting and intriguing and literally had me wide-eyed while reading. The author does a great job of keeping the suspense and mystery going and now I need more.
Tangled Minds is not like any book I have read before. Since Olivia healed Jagger he could hear her in his mind and she could heal him. The journey they go on is so good. We are for all the twist and turns. A. M. Mahler does a amazing job writing Tangled Minds. She gives us everything we could wanted and keep us on our seats. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This is not a book for young teens in spite of the ages of the characters in the book in my opinion. I quickly fell in deep into this book and read from cover to cover without stopping to sleep. This book has a unique spin on something some of us have wondered about for years. I can not wait for the next book in this series, Make sure you have time to read when you pick this one up and settle in for an adventure with Jaggar and Olivia.
For those wanting to read something new and different, this book is a good start for that! I liked the uniqueness and the challenge of figuring out what was going on here.
Jagger DeWinter and the voice in his head, Olivia (he finds out her name later), had an early mental connection. He had no idea who she was. But their mind link became something even more when he was injured during a baseball game, snapping the bone while sliding in for a homerun. But by the next game, he had been healed and could participate again!
He knew the voice in his head belonged to a real person. And he knew that whoever she was, she knew him. But they never shared names. Olivia must never let him know her identity because she is being hunted. She never wanted to risk putting him in danger because of her. When someone gives him her name, their relationship will change significantly. What will happen now? Will he be hunted too? Will she continue to protect and heal him? Or will she have to put distance between them and close down their link?
Glad I took a risk with this story and this author. Olivia and Jagger’s story is original and captivated me from the first page. Loved it and can’t wait for book two!!
The blurb for this novel pulled me in, and the storyline did the rest. It was a well-written piece with characters I enjoyed getting to know. There was drama, action, suspense, mystery and intrigue that kept me focused on the story. I’m looking forward to more from this author.
Tangled Minds by A.M. Mahler is the intriguing story of Jagger and Olivia. This was an intriguing, thought-provoking story that immediately harnessed my attention!! A deep, convoluted story line that easily kept my interest throughout the read. She can heal and ‘hear’ him in her mind. They never met…when they do, the impact is immediate, consuming, and now their lives are fraught with danger!!!
Exciting, thoroughly entertaining read!! The characters were full of life, easily identifiable, and strong! The only downside…and this is no fault of the author’s…only my own. I didn’t realize this was a YA story. I prefer stories with a little more steam! Otherwise, excellent!!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Can you find your person at age 5? Sometimes love knows no bounds. The heart and mind know what or whom they want, need and desire. Special abilities stir longing after in others for nefarious reasons, greed, control, power. May love always win above the reasons
The book is a good enjoyable paranormal romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is a well page turner.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was so excited to start this book, the plot was unique enough to captured my interest. An new to me author but I drove right in and I'm so glad I did.
Olivia and Jagger have been in each other’s mind since they were 5, literally. They knew everything about each other, except who she is. Olivia knows who Jagger is but must never let him know her identity. She is being hunted and it would put him in danger too. But one day someone else tells him who she is. From then on everything changes. Jagger can’t believe he actually knows who she is now. He never realized what that would mean to his life. Will they follow her grandfathers path and where will it lead them.
I sincerely hope this series continues! Book one was truly an enjoyable read. I loved the possibilities. While this novel illustrates the journey of Jagger and Olivia from early childhood to young adulthood and did so beautifully, I truly am looking for the next part of their story.
So it’s a kinda cute story about teenagers. Who are telepathic and on the run. It’s cute... There’s some weird editing or formatting that made it hard to tell who was talking and if the scene changed. I felt the ending was rather abrupt.
Came across this book looking for a different book and I’m very happy I did. I want book 2!!! This book has everything I wanted and things I didn’t know I wanted. Olivia is perfect and I can’t wait to read more about Willow.
I absolutely loved this book! Like, could not put it down! It's so well written, and the two main characters were just so likable and everything about them so earnest, it was impossible not to root for them. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
This was such a good read! I love how different it is. Love the characters and the relationships they formed. I would definitely read this again. It was paced really well and there weren’t any slow parts. I’m excited for the second book! So far, one of my top favorite books I’ve read this year.
I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the plot, if you're reading the reviews you know what it's about. I'll tell you what I look for in a review: what I liked (or didn't) about the story. This is my first book by AM Mahler but it definitely will not be my last. The blurb caught my attention, the first chapter kept my attention, and then I simply couldn't put it down. The main characters are 18, but not a young and stupid 18. They look before they leap (at least most of the time), the dialog is intelligent and their interactions are engaging. There is a surprise reveal I didn't see coming and that's a difficult thing for an author to accomplish with me, I can typically tell you who the bad guy is the first time they appear (it's a gift or a curse depending on your point of view). My family plays a game when we watch movies, I say who the bad guy is then we all wait to see if I'm right. So a surprise is a HUGE bonus for me. Don't skip this one!
