The future of nations stands in peril, and all pivots on the valor of one warrior…
The king of Faladir, possessed by evil, prepares to conquer other lands. An army of men supported by creatures of dark sorcery gathers beneath his foul banner. And the king, at their head, wields an ancient talisman of unstoppable power. But he still knows fear.
Faran, a simple hunter who has learned the famed skills of a Kingshield Knight, begins a quest to thwart the king. But he seems doomed, for even in success he is marked for death. Or worse.
As part of his quest, he must travel the void. It is a realm of spirit and magic, and he fears its misty paths of danger and deception. Yet there, as the final battle between light and dark draws near, he will discover a secret long hidden from him. One that the king has learned first and that could destroy him. If Faran lives…
I am a man born in the wrong era. My heart yearns for faraway places and even further afield times. Tolkien had me at the beginning of The Hobbit when he said, ". . . one morning long ago in the quiet of the world . . ."
I love to read high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and I have a passion to write, to weave a story with words that draws the reader into another world.
From impossible tasks to heart stopping battles, I was SHOCKED to find myself on the last page so suddenly ! I nearly stomped my foot that book 6 has not been released yet ! Love, love LOVE this series ! The pace and prose are lyrical and scenes are vivid with a sense of fairy dust glimmering just around the next bend. Argh ! Release The Sacred Knight soon !
I read this book in one sitting I just couldn't put it down. I love this author and this is a fabulous series. It entices you in and before you know it the main characters seem real. They become almost like friends who you cheer on madly and long to hear more of their story. Roll on the next book.
Tricky to not give away some of the book, so I will just say a couple of things. One, author needs to re-read the book for edit errors. More in the second half of the book. Second, this is a series, if you have not read the other books in the series, this one will make no sense to you. With that said, I like it and I would recommend it to readers of fantasy.
"The gravest sin of a people who's power outgrew their wisdom"
That is the most amazing quote of the entire series. Another amazing book with yet a few surprises for the reader to enjoy and even a few more layers peeled back about the Letharn society, Aranloth and Kareste's background. I hope you enjoy this book.
I like the series however this author has many spelling errors and at times put the wrong characters name in the events. These things need fixed and also using saying from a more modern time is fruitless in creating a long forgotten time. But if you can look beyond those few things it is worth reading the series.
Hi I've been reading all of Robert Ryan's series of books & I find them really great to read as I've mentioned before on other Review's, I love the types of stories Robert wrights they keep me hanging on waiting till I have time to get back to reading. I would highly recommend anyone to start or continue reading his Books
Can’t believe I read that so quickly and I’m left wanting and waiting for more. Great to see the characters developing in their roles. Looking forward to seeing how the story evolves in book 6
I enjoyed the book as it has answered some of my questions but still there is enough mystery for me to want to read the next one. Thanks for this book can not wait for the next.
Like my previous reviews of the other books in this saga - I love the world, creatures, characters, attention to detail in terms of martial, magical and spiritual elements. Excited for the next instalment.
The story continues with Farren and Ferla going in different directions each with their own Quest. Both learn more about themselves as the story evolves Looking forward to the next book
An outstanding fantasy series that will transport you to a world of dark versus light. Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action. I look forward to the next one.
Quick reading and engrossing. Ready for the next instalment in this series. One small error when Aranloth steps out with Farman and Kareste, it states it was Ferla
Our two heroes fight the last chief knight opposing them. Faran is the main subject of this one as Farnia was of the last. Great stuff could not put it down!
