A lyrical exploration of a little girl's fear of being alone, witha gentle, reassuring conclusion. A little girl doesn't like being left alone in a room in her house, even though her daddy is just in the next room. Told from the little girl's perspective, the story explores a worry common to young children in a gentle, humorous way, coming to a lovely, comforting conclusion that might help allay any similar fears a reader may have. Beautiful laser cut holes emphasise her feeling of being alone and her feeling of connectedness to her father throughout the book. Gorgeous, characterful illustrations bring the little girl and her family warmly to life. Many childrenhave a period of separation anxiety - not only when they are babies, but when they are a little older too. This story is a way of exploring the subject in a gentle way and offers a comforting way of thinking about it.

If you have a child who worries about being away from you or needs a little bit of extra reassurance to know that you’re nearby - this book is for you.
A heartwarming story about a little girl who doesn’t like to be too far away from her parents even when they are in the same house. She learns that the invisible thread of love that connects them is always there, no matter how far apart they are.
I love this story, it’s so relatable for families like when she follows her Daddy to the bathroom and we’ve all been there! You get to know all her worries and then go on the journey to overcoming them which is really reassuring for children with the same fears about being alone.
The book itself is a beautiful hardback with cutout pages and friendly, colourful pictures.
I’d definitely recommend this for children who worry about being alone or children who have attachment issues. It’s a great conversation starter.
very proud. my daughter started reading to us each night instead of the other way around. she learned to read this year and finished this in one sitting. she was so happy with the see through page details and she is so afraid of being alone, so hearing her say that she felt the same as the girl in the book was awesome. 10 points for recognizing feelings. * I may be biased in my rating now
