Alan doesn’t believe they’re meant to be. Two imperfect souls can’t make each other whole. Can Cole convince Alan they’re fated mates?
A persistent Alpha is intent on winning the heart of his socially awkward Omega in Crushing on Cole, a full-length mm mpreg shifter romance. There are no cliffhangers or cheating, and a HEA is guaranteed.
I can’t go further. Gonna have to DNF. The story blurb sounded promising but the writing is something totally different. I don’t know if this author is new or what but the writing just isn’t doing it for me.
But the horrible writing detracts from it too much. Is English not this author's first language or does she/ he/ they just need to hire a proofreader?
There were so many sentences with words left out... important words... to the point you have to reread and try to use context clues to try to figure out what the sentence is supposed to say.
Then there's confusing word order in some sentences. Putting a word in one place in a sentence could make it a question, while putting it in another could make it a statement... or change the meaning of a sentence altogether.
Did I mention the confusing pronoun usage? If you have two or more men in a room, you can't just say "he said to him" and then "he replied. " Who TF is doing the talking?! How can anyone follow that conversation?! I may be overreacting, but bad grammar and punctuation are the bane of my reading existence.
I won't go into how many times these characters "blurted" a response. (Just a hint...So often that I literally hate that word!) For the sake of all that is good and right, invest in a thesaurus!
Reading this book was a chore, not a joy.
On top of all of that, I didn't like Alan. First, he was extremely effeminate (like Jonah in the first book) and that just wasn't my cup of tea. (As I wrote in my review for the first book, whether MM or MMF, which I prefer, I like more masculine characters. Personal preference. No judgment. )
I also didn't care for some of Alan's personality traits. He seemed like a weak guy, but got an attitude when he thought people were babying him. He also got an attitude with Cole when he specifically told Cole he could handle a situation by himself, so Cole wasn't around when Alan changed his mind and wanted Cole there. Get over yourself. Yeah, I just didn't like Alan...
I kinda want to read Ryker's story because, like these others, it has the potential to be good. I just don't know if I can willingly expose my brain to what I'm almost sure will be reading hell...
Omega Alan has every reason to be distrustful of alphas. His former boyfriend and his own father are just a few examples of those who only cared for themselves and didn't care about the damage left behind. Alan wants to reach out but fear keeps him from wanting the kind of relationship his omega friend, Jonah has with his mate. Alan does not feel he deserves to have love, an alpha who adores him and babies His ex really did an emotional number on him. Will there ever be anyone patient enough to pull him out of this slump?
Alpha Cole has had a rough life. His former pack used he and a few other alphas for enforcement work. Nothing more than muscle. Following Grayson and two other alphas to a better life, he thinks a life of solitude and random omegas, are the way to go. Then he sees the happiness Grayson's new family has brought him, the calmness among the other alphas, and suddenly longs for more. Using his muscle to help save Jonah and Alan from a kidnapping, something in him clicks.
After staying at the pack mansion for a short while, Alan moves out on his own. More as a form of avoidance of a certain alpha and a mental pang (thanks to his ex that he's unworthy of a true love) than anything else. Cole is miserable without him and needs to find a way to get close without completely pushing Alan away. Especially since Alan believes the only reason Cole gave him any attention was due to the insistence of his best friend and his mate. Getting Alan to open up was not going to be a simple task. Cole's usual tactics were not going to work if he truly wanted to win his heart.

YES!!!!!!! Alan had been getting over his abusive ex Richard, his friends were worried about him so they asked Cole to keep an eye on him. Alan had always liked Cole but but now he knew that Cole was just spending time with him because he was asked to Alan just feel angry every time he saw him. It was like he couldnt help his reactions. Cole had always liked Alan but couldnt understand what he had done to make him so against him, but even tho his pack mates thought he was fighting a losing battle Cole wasn't going to give up. And when he sees another Alpha getting too hands on with Alan Cole knows he will do anything to keep him Safe. Alan and Cole make a truce and become friends but that doesn't last long. Alan and Cole cant keep their feelings hidden any more. This is a brilliant story with a few twist and turns along the way. I couldnt put this books down once I started. The connection that Alan and Cole have is just to die for!!!! what we all hope to find in a partner. And the passion is off the charts. I was totally hooked. What I also liked about these books is that I felt like part of the pack, a part of a big family that will do anything for each other. This is an amazing series and cant wait for the next book.

Trust your inner strength. Alan, survived a harrowing kidnapping, just to be further dumped on learning of his Dad's treachery. Since his bestie, Jonah was mated to Grayson, Alan spent more time alone. Alan, was aware of Cole but just put him on the arrogant Alpha shelf. He resented Cole a little because he thought he knew Grayson and Jonah asked him to keep an eye on Alan. He wished Cole kept an eye on him, because he wanted to, no he doesn't! Alan, struggled to find his space. He knew he was welcome, but he didn't feel he had a place in the pack. He knew he had a few things to work on to find his balance. Cole had interest in Alan. While he didn't think he was ready for a relationship, he felt strongly about Alan. He talked himself into thinking they were friends. His courtship is cute, lame but cute. Will Alan lower his walls enough to let Cole in? Is Cole ready to settle down? Will Cole recognize what he may be feeling in time? Does Alan's cat like Cole's wolf? Will Alan find peace and family with his stepmom, Clara? Lots going on in this story. Good story. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Omega Alan Maple is missing his best friend and wishes he had someone to talk to. He hates his life. He is still trying to get over his ex-boyfriend, Richard, and to recover from being kidnapped. He has no interest in an Alpha and isn’t ready to date again.
Getting drunk alone at the bar, sinking into the gloom of his pity-party, Alan hears a familiar voice as Cole Rowland sits down and asks him if he talks to himself often. Alan is attracted to Cole, but he knows Cole is only talking to him because Jonah and Grayson had told him to. Handsome Cole could have anyone, so why would he ever choose Alan? Alan hated playing games so why did Cole keep doing this and flirting with him?
Cole knows Alan is hesitant but he wants to prove to him they are meant to be together. Can Cole help him gain the confidence he needs to fall in love? Can he convince Alan they are fated mates?
This was an enjoyable story with likable characters, once Alan got himself back to the land of the living! He needed Cole and they are good for each other. But will he give Cole a chance and stop doubting himself? Grab your copy and see whether Cole can show him how real his feelings are!
I absolutely enjoyed reading this delightful, heartwarming Mpreg romance. It is the second book in the series “Shattered Pack” & it can be read as a standalone. The plot is amazingly entertaining & has some emotional complexities. The characters are interesting & likable with realistic flaws. There is good support from the secondary characters. This story is about: a somewhat awkward male omega tabby cat shifter (Alan Maple) with some sad memories becomes quite confused when a persistent alpha male wolf shifter (Cole Rowland) displays a single-minded determination to court him, not realizing that Cole is quite prepared to do anything to claim Alan for his very own. There is: pack issues, alphas, omegas, mates, friendship, a abusive ex (Richard), a conniving Father (Don Maple)some twists, drama, some suspense, intrigue, family issues, memories, strange attractions, disagreements, protectiveness, determination, insecurities, confrontations, violence, injuries, compromises, surprises, some steam & a well-deserved happy conclusion. I look forward to future books from this author.
Note: I read this book without reading the previous book in this series. However, in my opinion, you can read this book without reading the previous book.
*Spoilers*
Cole has a crush on Alan. Alan doesn't trust Cole intentions primarily due to his past relationships. Eventually, Alan learns to trust Cole and together they start to build a relationship together. I enjoyed how the Alpha (Cole) was not an asshole towards the Omega (Alan). I liked how the story of their relationship is told. I also enjoyed the use of telling the story from the point of view of both Cole and Alan. In short, if you are looking for Alpha/Omega, M/M, Mpreg book that isn't vulgar, then you might want to consider reading this book.

Second story in this delightful series. One by one these alphas are getting their true mates. In this story, Cole slowly woos the skittish omega, Alan. He is determined to make Alan his mate. The way he goes about it is very entertaining. I caught myself giggling and laughing at his antics. Alan has a troubling past and it's hard to be around others/alphas but with Cole, his cat is happy and safe. Their romance is sweet and steamy. The epilogue was wonderful and the surprise at the end was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter in the series and really can't wait to read about the other alphas in the pack get their forever mates.

this was a 3 and a half stars for me. the plot was interesting and I loved getting deeper insight into some of the side characters from last time. but again there were so many mistakes! This time the names often got mixed up. Alan is a tabby cat and Cole a wolf but either Alan stops being a cat or is both a cat and a wolf because the names are interchanged. Again the switch between past and present in the same sentences was an issue as well as missing words. there were fewer mistakes this time but the author really needs to invest in a professional editor. Once again if those were fixed I would add a star to my rating.
I liked pretty much everything more with Alan and Cole than I did with Jonah and Grayson. This book gave us stronger, and more rounded characters. I liked that Alan and Cole started from a foundation of friendly acquaintances, who become friends, and lead to more. Yes, it was a quick progression, but Alan, especially, needed to have that level of control over his life.
We even got a little bit of an inkling of what it means to be fated mates, though I still question how they have an idea about it before the claiming bite. And why is the claiming bite only one way? Does the omega have no claim on their alpha, in return?
Crushing on Cole is book 2 in the Shattered Pack series. Alan is getting over his ex and recovering from being kidnapped the last thing he needs right now is an Alpha. Cole is determined to show Alan they are meant to be together without completely scaring him off. Alan and Cole really are good for each other and it will be good for the Pack to have Alan with them. Cole gives Alan confidence to be himself and speak his mind. This is an enjoyable mpreg story and I look forward to more in this series.

I loved Alan’s and Cole’s story. Alan is a omega he’s shy and he has been through so much with his kidnapping and his ex so Alan didn’t really trust alphas but then there is Cole an alpha who was asked by his best friend Jonah to keep an eye out on Alan so Alan only thinks that Cole is keeping an eye out on him because he was asked but what Alan doesn’t know is that Cole wants so much more than friendship from Alan. Fantastic m/m story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Alan is an Omega that has been missing his best friend Jonah. He’s trying to get over a kidnapping and a recent breakup. He’s struggling to find his place in the pack. Cole is an Alpha and an arrogant one at that. Alan thinks that Cole only talks to him and watches over him because of Jonah and Grayson. This was an enjoyable story, well written. I really enjoyed this book and the previous ones up to a point. The author really needs a new proofreader and editor!! It was annoying being yanked out of the story due to words completely missing or the wrong names in sentences! I had to fight a strong urge to send it back in red ink! It annoyed me to the point i am not sure whether it will be worth getting the rest of the series! Its such a shame that a brilliant author is being let down in this way!! Kat.
I loved this book which revolved around Alan and Cole. This story totally captured my attention and the pace flowed nice and smoothly. The writing was excellent, although, I was hoping for a bit more at the end, but still I appreciated the bonus scene and I truly enjoy this series. Adventurous and heartwarming.
Second book in the shattered pack series and a very good second book in which we follow Cole and Allen. Both characters we was inteoduced to in the first and could tell that their story would be next. I enjoyed the development in this book and learning more about the side characters, especially Jonah who was my favourite from the first book so it was nice that he was still mentioned.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Cole had to get Alan's trust before they could be mated. Alan got rid of the baggage from his life, one on his own and one with Cole's help. Cole and Alan got together and happily mated.
The story was great and I liked the characters. I wish the book was better edited so it wouldn’t detract from the story. Lots of little grammar errors and spelling errors can throw the reader for a loop.
For such a prolific author, the misspellings, lack of edits, and other issues was very hard to get through. It pulled me out more than once. The story itself was your usual, quick read for me, and great for a one read.
I really love this HEA shifter book and the series . They’re great love story’s with just the right amount on anxiety and will they won’t they along the way. Highly recommended
I cannot say enough good things about this book just a really wonderfully written story heartfelt and with a happy ending you couldn’t ask for a better book. Can’t wait to start book 3.
