Mark David Abbott was born in Cyprus but spent most of his formative years growing up in New Zealand. A love for travel has meant that he has spent much of his life living and working in different countries around the world and currently calls India home. Mark has worked variously as a barman, a factory hand, supermarket shelf stocker, and a real estate salesman, but now devotes his time to writing and traveling. Mark is a keen runner and in between runs is slowly building an impressive collection of Gin.
Mark David Abbott has created quite an amazing fictional character named ‘John Hayes’. I have spent the last 10-days with John as I read the two 3-volume box sets.
John is unlike any of the fictional black-ops/Navy Seals/MI6/ CIA/et.al. fictional killers on a mission. John is simply a young man who is confronted - continuously - by personal tragedy that makes this ‘Mr. Every Man’ respond to each crisis without the ‘super spy’ set of fantastic weaponry all the super heroes are provided with to save the world.
To fully understand the ‘John Hayes’ character, I’d recommend reading them in sequence, as the books often refer back to people and situations i previous volumes.
I would certainly recommend’The John Hayes Thrillers’ to anyone who wants to see how the average Joe would handle life & death situations. Enjoy...
All 3 books were enjoyable and tense. These like others in their genre push the levels of credibility, but not withstanding that are fun to read. Looking forward to books 7 and further.
