Disappointed

SPOLIERS ! ! ! The first 3 books were 5 stars, unfortunately, this one was not. So you have Ryker, Faas etc. as the villan for all first 3 books and then the last book you introduce a new one and he's defeated. I just think it was uneccessary. I wish the author would have kept Ryker as the big bad and the Defenders went against him in the end. Also, Bo and Poppy being killed ruined it for me. I would have liked it if Armond would have healed them under Rykers orders and then forced them to work with him under a spell or something. So at least in the end they could have all been rescued. I just feel so unsatisfied and have so many questions still. What about Minas journey to find her dad? Is Xavier and Mina going to be together? I know there's another book coming about her sister but we need another book about the Defenders. The grammar was also pretty bad.

Well this book was a dissapointment. I should have ended with the last book.

In this book, we are introduced to a new villian who is supposedly invincible. Adding this new villian was just so random and then everything else that happened seemed like a filler. Very disappointed.

Ughhhhhhh

I'm not entirely sure why I ended up finishing this series. (I say finished because I'm not going to be bothering with Ebony's story...) 1 star, would've MAYBE been a 2.5 if there had been some editing and proof reading in this series AT. ALL. Misspelled words, horrible grammar, repeated words and sentences (how did we go from eating lunch to suddenly finding Raven in bed for the night? It felt like I teleported without even knowing it.), coma splices (I'm guilty there too..), weird scene transitions, plus numerous inconsistencies. I forget which book, but in one scene Raven cries into a red book that suddenly turns blue two paragraphs later. MOST of this could have been solved with an editor and proof readers.. I'm not asking for a perfect book, but dang. The writing also felt very juvenile to me. The plot wasn't half bad, but still needed work. The author also tried waaaay too hard to throw in elements of Harry Potter and it fell flat for me.

I originally started this series thinking it was RH, was sad when I learned of the love triangle instead. I hate love triangles with my whole soul. And the way it played out? No, no thank you.

Is it just me or did Raven learn NOTHING from this school. She was left without vital information until it was too late, and looked like a fool the entire time. Why did no one give her a crash course? And don't get me started on worthless Anton. He claimed to want to help her, but I don't see it. Everyone joked about his lack of proper answers, but seriously. He offered no real answers, let everyone struggle, and then would swoop in to save the day at the last second. And what was the purpose of Raven being of HIS bloodline? Weird and creepy.

Speaking of Raven, I would've liked her to BOND and TALK with her dragon more. She made it seem like this was possible, so why wouldn't she try to communicate with her dragon? Other than begging for help.

Vivian had NO purpose other than being a mean girl. She had no redemption whatsoever. Eden was also pointless. She just had to be the obligatory girlfriend (can't have one of the princes be single, can we?) and mean girl who hates all females who even look at her man. Again, no thank you. Give me my mean girls with SOME character growth, please and thank you.

The last battle was way too easy, felt horribly rushed, and was just.. a let down. The new big bag dark fae just seemed very insignificant and too easy to beat.

Yeah, definitely don't know why I finished. I for sure wouldn't have confined after book one had they not been on KU.

Umm i don't know what to say about the series. There was love, friendship, action, a powerful leader.

So we all know that since book 1, Ryker was the villian but i honestly don't get why. We just know that he was antagonist but we haven't heard his side of story in these 4 books.

Secondly, we didn't get to know what happened behind the scenes like in the kingdoms and all.

Thirdly, I didn't get the concepts behind the formation of "defenders". At first it felt like they just named the group and had that one aim but suddenly they're the ones who were responsible to save the supernatural world. Even if it was bc of Raven being a silver dragon I still didn't get that.

Fourthly, history was not revealed. About Raven, about Lucien, about her parents in these books (if I've missed reading books that came out before these 4 I beg your pardon).

Fifth thing is I didn't get Raven's power. Were those blood lines only for the spell cuz those weren't used anywhere else, only silver dragon was. How Raven became a sliver dragon wasn't clear.

Sixth thing is, Cormac was portrayed invicible from the start but it felt like he's just another demon whom they all trapped.

Seventh thing, the battles were kinda rushed. I've read many supernatural books so maybe that's why I'm feeling the same. It felt like the first second the battle started and the other second it was over. I didn't get battle vibes.

I still feel sad for Bo. I don't care if I'm overreacting but I still feel he deserved a happy ending. Death of loved one doesn't necessarily makes someone stronger, faith and love does. Well that's how I feel.

Bad and Great

The story is amazing and I read through the books so fast. The problem is it’s all written wrong. Almost every sentence has an extra word or isn’t structured correctly. Most of the time you have to guess what the author is trying to say. Other times I just read over the blank spaces as I kept trying to guess what was happening and a lot yhappens during the series which kept me thoroughly entertained. Dragons, wolf shifters, golden demons, demons, vampires, crazy unseelie with nasty dark magic test our heroes but through hard ache and happiness. There might be a witch and maybe an arch angel or two. The story is full of magic and adventure, sadness and happiness, things found and things lost. You just have to be able to read through every single error. Every book in the series are the ultimate worst books I have ever read. Even one beta reader could’ve caught half of the mistakes in the books and it would’ve been so much better. So the books are doing quite well it looks like the author is a best-selling author but it’s not based on the author’s talent of telling a story a reader can breeze through without all the stumbling with bad grammar. But the story, the plot is so amazing it keeps you wanting to read more even though almost every breath you take your fall through a hole and you stumble but you pull yourself out only to fall through another hole and it goes on and on forever until you get to the end. You decide if you want to spend the time reading through the lines and going on this great adventure but remember the grammar, sentence structures, very basic grammar really sucks.

This is the final book in Raven’s story. After the disastrous results of the last battle with Ryker, the academy has been closed. Raven has been shut out of all the other kingdoms, and unceremoniously separated from her mate, Lucien. But there is a glimmer of hope. Anton has sent out letters to the defenders to bring them back together for one final epic battle against the forces of evil.

I enjoyed this book far more than the rest of the series. It was a good way to wrap up this series and give us a hint to the next one. Our insipid heroine did a much better job of remaining conscious in this book, only fainting 3 times. I fully admit that I was Team Bo, so my heart broke every time he appeared in this book, even though it wasn’t really him. My heart melted every time I heard, “Hello beautiful.”

Unfortunately, this book really needs a good edit. There were lots of grammatical errors, missing words in a sentence, a few contradictory statements to something that was mentioned earlier. But all in all, I would still recommend the series and am looking forward to the next one.

Good read but could use some more editing (spoilers alert)

Interesting story through the Legacy Academy series but the errors occurring in each of the books were a bit annoying. Some grammar mistakes, repetitions that sounded off, a mix up with professors names at some point and the fact that between Raven and Lucien they had four and not five bloodlines while they mention they had all of the Defenders bloodlines felt off. Especially since the spell and one of Angel’s prophecies called for all five of them to come together? Also, not a good or bad thing but I see a lot of parallels to Harry Potter series.

Great finish

Was hoping Raven had chosen Bo .But she did go with her true mate. Which is great. This series had lots of ups and downs for these young adults . But needless to say Good vs Evil and Good always wins . Happy everything turned out for Raven . Now hoping to see if Nina finds her dad. Well written keeps you turning the page. I love stories like this although some pre adults takes a lot longer to learn than others. But then again I'm over 60 .Y'all enjoy because I sure did. I like books more on this level because they're more cleaner .Thanks to the Author .Enjoy my peeps

Unfortunately this last book just felt rushed. I'm glad the Council dad's/kings came around and saw the good in our girl, but what about her and Lucien's future. Definitely need more of the defenders and their new roles, what happens between Xander and Mina?

Why didn't her dad explain more if his story with the mum?
New evil? So what happened about Ryker??!
How can new evil happen in the last book..

On to Ebony's legacy I guess and the prequels

I just need to know how she didn't gain 200 lbs. I feel like every chapter had the characters eating a massive amount of food.
Overall I am glad the series is over. I feel like most of the characters were very one note and could have used some growth.

I loved it! It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This story is a slow burn, with a love triangle, forbidden romance, fated mates, and found family. Grab this new romance academy and enroll in Legacy where you’ll met Dragons, Wolves, Demons, Fae, and Vampires. Welcome to Legacy Academy. There are three rules at this supernatural academy. One, date your own kind for mixing with other races is forbidden, two, never speak or look at The Royals, the powerful princes destined to rule each of their kingdoms and three, avoid the human world. Raven has broken all the rules. She is supposed to be starting her fourth year of school, but Legacy’s in deep trouble. Ryker has taken everything from her, and she wants revenge. The Defenders are scattered and Lucien is missing, and she is currently alone. Her heart’s broken, but she’s not defeated. She has to rely on her training and on her dragon to gather back the Defenders and to find Lucien. A final showdown is coming between her and Ryker and she swears an oath that he’ll pay for what he did. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I love the ending and I can’t wait to see what happens next, the tale continues in a new series called Ebony’s Legacy, it’s the tale of Raven’s sister Ebony’s story. I highly recommend to everyone.

For the whole series: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

First my bad, I thought this was an RH -- it's not. There is a love triangle but it obviously did not resolve the way I expected.

Ongoing issues:
1. Editing -- SOOOOOO many instances where the wrong word was used or just misspelled. A good editor would have solved this. It was a little ridiculous when the word would be used correctly literally ONE paragraph before. "threw it away", "through it away"
2. World building. While it was overall good, there were some nagging questions. Where does the money come from for the supernatural kingdoms? If our sup kids are going to college and only learning sup things, how does that pay the bills? The whole series everyone has money and never thinks about it.
3. While I don't think the heroine is a Mary Sue, sometimes the supporting characters treated her like one. Anyone who dislikes her is evil or turns evil.

Otherwise not a bad plot and a good ride. Kindle unlimited and engaging enough for me to plow through all 4 in a day. (sick day.)

Very good but...

I've read all the books in the series so far and they are all very good so good i couldnt put them down, however i can't give five stars because they all need a good editor to go over them. In some places there were words missing, misspelt or out of order there were also plot errors where names of characters were confused although this didnt happen often and minor facts changed through the series for example it was mentioned in the first book that the students would learn to shift with their clothes on in second year however it was never mentioned again and students and adults alike undressed before shifting which wouldnt happen had shifting with their clothes on been possible. Overall very good story but could do with a good editor, i would definately recommend the series and will continue to read M Guida's books.

Petulant Lead

This series had so much promise. When Bo was killed off I wondered. With all the “my stomach growled” tropes it got annoying. Now Raven finds out she has a third bloodline and like a petulant child says “I don’t wanna drink blood” instead of marveling that she has found a new relative. She’s not alone. She asked like a 2 year old and not an 18 year old. She’s a brat. Had self esteem issues. Is like a breakable china doll. Acts like a 2 year old who rips the sippy cup from their mom’s hands and says “I can do it.” It’s downright tedious. Women don’t need to be simpering babies and don’t need to be stubborn, pig headed idiots

Legacy Academy Year Four: Paranormal Academy Romance

Loved 🥰 this final book it’s definitely everything you want in a finale, so grand. The ultimate battle is here…

Can't wait to find out more about Armond and how they find him. So much action and twists. I hope that the main theme will continue telling the story of Lucien and Raven but time will tell!!!

The biggest problem with this whole series is the grammar is terrible. There were so many sentences with poor grammar, missing words, wrong word choices. It needs a big edit. But, I definitely loved the storyline…

I highly recommend this book and series.

excellent ending to a great series

This is the last book in the series, it was well worth the wait.
This book is full of action and secrets.
This series is very well written with such detail and emotion, I haven’t been able to put the book down until I get to the very last word - it’s been that way for every book in this series.
I love the suspense and twists, that ‘unknown’ factor was fantastic in this series.
Overall this was a fantastic paranormal series, I’m looking forward to reading Ebony’s story in the next series… hoping Armond is also in it.

The storyline is fantastic. I could not wait to find out what happened with Raven, the Defenders and the evil they were fighting.
However, this book had so many grammatical effors and words missing that it was difficult to read. Had I not already invested so much time in this series, I probably would not have finished it. A major editing job is needed on this book. I am so glad the first three books of the series didn't have these issues. It is like M. Guida got in a hurry to upload and forgot the importance of editors. I volunteer as tribute for this job! 😉

Not a bad quick read

Overall I found the storyline good, and we have a reasonable kick ass heroine and guys who back her up. But, and it's a massive one, please please someone proof read these books before publishing. There were so many duplicated lines and either words missing from sentences or wrong ones inserted, it spoiled the continuity.

I enjoyed the series very much but found the story was often thrown out of context because of words being added to sentences when not needed. Vital words missed from sentences making the reader reread the sentence again trying to make sense of it. Paragraphs repeated unnecessarily and again throwing a curve ball at the reader. Maybe the editor or proof reader needs to up his/her game.

This series has a good story line but there were a lot of grammar errors and it could have had more detail. I feel like it sped through each year too quickly and just didn’t give enough, like something was missing. I finished the first 4 in the series but I will most likely not be reading the next part to it.

Good story, seriously poor editing

I swear I really did like the story, but the editing of this book was more painful than the first 3 combined. Something about the writing style rubs me the wrong way. There is NEVER a recap of a conversation, but an alarming amount of detail about food.
The story kept me going, but I doubt I'll read any more books from this author.

Good read!

There are still some unanswered questions. I'm sadly not dedicated to reading every series lol.
🌶🌶 throughout the whole series. Not a terrible storyline for sure! There where some typos that drove me nuts. I didn't report them because I'm not sure how that works for Kindle.
All in a a great read if you are just getting into fantasy reading.

Story is good

While the story is good, I feel the editing lets it down completely and it’s not just a few times it’s consistent all the way through the book. Repeated words, words missing out of a sentence so it doesn’t make sense, characters mixed up. It really lets the book down

Love fantasy

I’ve always loved fantasy novels and this series was one of my favorite YA fantasy books. I felt sad I became a Defenders along with the characters. This book made me feel and that’s what every good book should do.
