Wow. I'm not normally a fan of sci-fi but this book changed my mind. The horror added into it: warmed my cold, dead heart. I used to only read horror and it had been a while. Until this book, I didn't want to read anything other than romance but I need more books in this style in my life.
A Truth be Told follows Briana and Charlie and their struggle to escape from alien zombie things...(not sure how else to describe them) and get back to their normal lives. The suspense and mystery as well as the chemistry between the characters kept me captivated from the beginning. The details in the descriptions of the strange world they get thrown into made me feel like I was there with them, enduring the same hardships as the characters. It was amazing!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book especially since it's not my usual forte and I'll be keeping my eye on this author for what else she will bring us.

Fans of dark sci-fi will revel in this intricate tale of horror as a couple struggles to make sense of a strange world they find themselves in.
Briana wakes up to find herself trapped in a strange room with her memory wiped out. The only other occupant of the room is Charlie. The duo plans to escape, but the world outside is equally strange. The bulk of the plot focuses on Briana and Charlie’s efforts to survive as they try to make sense of their weird surroundings.
Milani impressively integrates the horror element without sacrificing the concept of hardcore science fiction in the story. Milani’s impressive writing and the expert handling of the disparate plot elements makes for an intriguing tale. The downbeat ending will appeal to lovers of dark fiction.
Readers intrigued by darker tales of science fiction will want to pick up this fine novel.

🍷I am a sucker when it comes to thrillers of psychotic thrillers, I feel I was born just to read that genre! This book revolves around amazing Briana, who wakes up with no memory of who she is, well at very first this book reminded me of "Before I Go To Sleep", but it's just the concept that's common and the entire book is completely different and unpredictable throughout. Bri is a character that's built in a way which will definitely satisfy the reader but on the other hand, there will be time when you will feel that you yourself are accompanying Bri, I won't really talk about Charlie or any other character because it's a thriller and go read yourself to know what happens to them. No spoilers, lol!

The author keeps the storyline and plot extremely intense throughout, it's definitely a nail biting thriller well on the other hand the author skips detailied descriptions of few scenes and places they dwell into, but for me it wasn't a problem anyways. What I truly liked was, I completed it in a single go, which means it was definitely so gripping and it kept me curious throughout. I still have few questions but thrillers are also about assumptions.

This was definitely an amazing thriller with a blend of paranormal elements as well as a bit of fantasy. I will definitely recommend it if you are looking for a fast paced thriller.

A Truth Be Told is a horror sci-fi psychological thriller novel by Alyssa Milani.
So, there's not a lot I can say about this book because anything I say may be I spoiler but I'll try my best.
First, the stiry and plot is good. It reminds of psycho-thriller movies you see on Netflix and thus has all the elements to be one of those movies in the bear future.
The worldbuilding is good but it could have been a bit more descriptive to get a complete feel of being there.
I'm not going to talk about the characters because of spoilers but I didn't find anything lacking in them.
I did like the ending of the book but I'm hoping there's a sequel because a part of me feels like I'm still missing out on something but I can't seem to place my finger on it.
It was satisfactory, but I wanted more and I'm genuinely looking forward to what happens next if it's possible.
Overall a decent book if you're into horror, science fiction and psychological thrillers.

'A Truth Be Told by Alyssa Milani' is a psychological thriller novel with an element of science fiction. Summed up in less than two hundred pages this book is a perfect binge read for all the thriller enthusiasts.

Briana finds herself trapped in a strange room, with no sense of memory. In the same room, Charlie, a stranger to Briana, is also a victim of the same situation as her. Together, they plan to escape from this strange vicinity.
The surroundings scare them. Evils of their mind battle with them, and they soon need to find an escape plan.

The premise of the story has a universal side. What makes it stand out is the writing style and characters which are the backbone of the book.
Milani has created a world which is unknown to all of us, and so it's easy to understand the complexities faced by Briana and Charlie.
Despite creating a world which has a new feel, it requires some more depth and imagination. In my opinion, it could have been sharper.
The good thing is Characters are knitted properly to the plot.
There are surprising horror element which makes this novel more interesting to read.

This story pulled me in; I wanted to know who Briana was, why she was there, why she was dreaming, what the creatures were and what they wanted from Charlie and her. I hesitated between a 4 and a 3-star rating; what really detracted from the book, and made me decide on the 3-star, was the quality of the writing. This self-published book DESPERATELY needs an editor to clean it up. The book was full of odd grammar, spelling mistakes, and incorrect word usage. It also repeatedly used the same words; how many times did Briana smell Charlie's musk, and how many times did someone cup someone else's face? I lost count. I made my 3-star decision at the very end, when the phrase "my minions" was used. This (and many other clichéd phrases) would not have made it past a good editor. Intriguing idea and setup, but disappointing overall.
