Lee Wilkinson was born in Nottingham, the only child of loving parents. She was educated at an all-girls' school, and after leaving, tried her hand at several jobs, including modeling swimwear.

At 22 she met and married her husband, Denis. They had a traditional white wedding and a honeymoon in Italy, and have been happily married ever since. They have two children, a son and a daughter—both now grown up and married—and four lovely grandchildren.

Lee's writing career began with short stories and serials for magazines and newspapers before going on to novels. She has had more than 20 Mills and Boon romance novels published to date.

Amongst her hobbies are reading, gardening, walking, and cooking. Traveling is her main love, and teaming up with her daughter and American son-in-law, she and her husband spent a year going round the world, taking in India, China, Australia, New Zealand, and the States.

Last year she rented a palazzo in the heart of Venice, followed by a quick hop aboard the Orient Express. Lee is currently saving up for a whirlwind tour of Japan, a romantic and exotic destination she has wanted to visit since childhood.

At present she lives with her husband in a 300-year-old stone cottage in a picturesque Derbyshire village, which gets cut off by snow most winters

Some part was charming and some part was boring.
I liked that hero searched for heroine. It was clear from the beginning that he still had strong feelings for heroine. I like that heroine was a career woman. She was equally strong and sweet in the beginning but later in some instances she made weak decisions.
It irked me that hero got engaged to other woman during their separation. It was purely a business move was another matter. And it downright rankled that OW had a room adjacent to his private domain and he slept there with her. Atleast he was decent enough to take heroine to his own bed.
If it is any consolation Once they met again hero didn’t even look at another woman.
Recommended.

Meh.
Me and this author simply don’t match.
Her heroes are too cold and distant and I can’t really feel the love or passion.
The heroine dumped the hero three years ago because a woman told her he was her fiancé. She basically disappeared without giving him the benefit of doubt.
They meet again when she’s a jewel designer and she has designed his fiancée necklace.
She is engaged with her boss.
She and the hero realizes they have been jilted by their respective intended and the hero blackmails her to be his substitute fiancée for the engagement party.
Of course he’s planning to marry her, because now that he’s met her again he doesn’t want to lose her again.
Apparently he’s looked for her and when he wasn’t able he gave up and got himself a woman he didn’t love.
But I couldn’t feel he was really involved with the heroine and he was unnecessarily cruel with her.
Ok she didn’t trust him three years before but he was always so cold…
There’s also a mystery part, where their exes manage to steal the infamous heirloom necklace and eventually the hero catches them both before they leave for brasil.
Usual double standard with the heroine who stays celibate while the hero doesn’t and is tacky enough to give the heroine his ex clothes and bathroom.
Jeez how yucky.
But we still may rejoice since he didn’t sleep with her in his bed, he went to her room.
Mmmmmm. Absolutely perfect.
Just not my style.

A nice read.

Interesting plot with some twists.

Fran had been in love and mistakenly branded the other woman three years ago. She fled and started her life over, now she is love with a charming man(her boss). Having been offered the chance of a lifetime to design a necklace for a rich client's wedding, she is on cloud nine.

Not totally agreeing with how the necklace will be delivered to the client, she still agrees to carry it. Being afraid the whole time she decides to wear it under her blouse for safekeeping, which is good thing because her bag gets stolen. Just wanting to get this over with she heads to the client's estate. She gets the shock of her life when the client turns out to be her old flame.

Still reeling from that discovery and that Blaze is to be married in 2 days, she sits in shock awaiting her fiance arrival so she can deliver the necklace. More shocks await her as they wait for their partners to show. With neither partner showing Blaze siezes his chance and blackmails her into being his fiancee as it is too late to call everything off.

Just believing it is for one night Fran goes along with it. Blaze seduces her and leaves her feeling guilty and still in love with him. He forces her into marriage as they discover more secrets about each other and the necklace.

Fran starts out being pretty strong and sticks to her guns but then she ends up turning into a wimp. I really liked her until the wimp comes out. Blaze now is a tough unforgiving guy that you actually dislike because he is mean. But as you read along you discover he is hiding a broken heart and not sure what to do or say. Both are flawed characters but the entertaining plot keeps you reading.

“She was almost twenty-seven. Perhaps her biological clock had been to blame, urging her to marry the first prepossessing male who came along, so enabling her to have the family she’d always wanted while she was still young.” Oh… I… that’s a look, I guess?

Beyond that, key points of this book include: the hero is named Blaze (yes, really), the heroine is as dumb as a pile of rocks but also an immensely talented jewelry designer (so: rocks all the way down, folks!), and there are not one but four fake engagements involved in this book. That’s right, FOUR fake engagements for the price of only ONE category romance novel - a real bargain, I’m sure. Also: devastatingly attractive and charming jewel thieves, although because this is a Harlequin novel from 2000, they are not our protagonists. Sigh. It was okay, but just okay.

I didn't hate this one if I'm honest it was completely over the top but I rather enjoyed it.
h is a pretty smart lady she had a great job in the city until the H's ex embarassed her then she retrained and became awesome at something else.

its clear the H is smitten with the h however, he is clearly a serial womanizer. I'm surprise he has any heirlooms to pass to the h and he likes to get engaged, a LOT! He also can't make up his mind whether he is called Blaze or Edward (its a long story involving parents who divorced)

The h dated the H in her previous life in the city. It was instalove after getting stuck in a lift together. However, a jealous ex throws a spanner in the works and chases the h off and although the H looks for her he never finds her and when they meet in the present he is engaged to yet another floozy. h is kinda ready to move on and is about to move in with a potential new man. New man and floozy fiancee (FF) decide they are in lust, his business isn't doing so great so they will steal the H's family jewels, run off together and set the h up as a patsy. h inadvertently ruins their plans.

Now H has the h under his roof there is no escape for her he quickly realises that their respective partners are dodgy so he has no loyalty to the FF and he is all about winning the h who we as readers know he is mad about, all the signs are there. I loved the fact he paid the FF to run off with her horrible ex even though it went against the grain for him just in case the h got any ideas about going back to the creep.

Very far fetched with the jewel heist and super tacky she has to wear the necklace that she designed for the FF also crazy that she is subbed in as a bride at the last minute and no one bats an eyelid because they didn't know the FFs name. H is head over heels for his h though so we will leave them rolling in ex worn heirlooms for their HEA

Entertaining although she was a dumb as a pile of rocks. Gullible doesn't begin to cover it.

It was fine. I didn't feel the angst. The H should have tried harder to let the h know she was special and that he was committed to her. The poor h had to literally resign from her job and change careers a full 180 just cz of his sleazy ex. They meet again 3 years later.

As other reviewers mentioned, the H has a tendency of getting into convenient engagements. Be warned: At the beginning of this story, he is engaged to the OW, and

The h hasn't slept with anyone since she and the H split up, but she is ALSO engaged with a diamond ring, to the OM.

Things sort themselves out, and the H and h end up marrying each other. I wanted the H to properly suffer but mostly we just saw some jaw clenching.

Just ok

Predictable. Rushed ending. Author missed visiting some key events in the relationship between the two main characters that could have added a little something. This is pretty much a cranked out story.

It was nice plot, but there were to many secrets that made them both miserable.. the ending was to rush and we couldn't see them being happy together.. It didn't do them justice.. Needs an epiloge..

Such a short simple book this one truly dragged for me and I couldn't find myself getting interested in it. Unlike the other "romance" books that usually follow a similar and let's all be the same plot this one stuck out on its own a bit but to me the story truly felt like it should have been written different than what was presented.

The characters were flat and you couldn't find a happy medium with either of them. He was too aloof, cruel and calculating, which never changed. She was too naïve, prissy and yet too easily manipulated while the other couple to offset them were barely mentioned but basically the same traits of him but doubled.

Being based in a United Kingdom background there was some words that weren't commonly found in the usage of those living in the United States so along with the actual landscape they added a bit of a actual true flair. Otherwise it was nothing to write home about.
