放开那个反派让我来 Let the Villain Go

Rate this book
Legend has it that Ye Peitian’s blood has the miracle effect of saving the almost dead. The strong human beings swarmed like ants and insects under the banner of justice, just to achieve their ulterior purpose.

Using Yellow Sand to crush all the coveted people, Ye Peitian let his broken body soak in the pool of blood.

A woman appeared on the edge of the battlefield and approached him quietly.

Ye Peitian lightly pulled the corner of his mouth with a little effort, drawing a sneer. Even a low-level saint dared to take the opportunity to take his blood and flesh.

He closed his eyes, however, the woman stooped down and put a warm coat on him.

Ye Peitian:? ? ?

When Chu Qianxun was dying, she saw what happened in another parallel world.

In that world, the big demon that made the world fear him was not a demon, but smiled softly and shyly at her.

For that smile, she stepped on the bloody sea of corpses and carefully approached the brutal bloodthirsty demon.

But she heard the person say: Go away. If you get closer to me, I will make you die badly.

When she really turned around, the corner of her clothes was pulled.

Even if the whole world spurns you, I will hold your hand.

If everyone is afraid of you, then let me love you.

A rare author who writes heroines who are bold in pursuing their romantic partner and comfortable with their own desire and taking the lead there (so rare!)

This is a companion book to Apocalypse Arrival/魔种降临. Posting the same review for both. Both feature the same cast of characters, the same world, but the two books are like parallel worlds. In Apocalypse Arrival, the heroine was reborn 5 days before the apocalypse and thus smartly made prudent decisions from the beginning with her memory of future events. She gains power quickly, rescues many side characters and saves the male lead before he is tortured into insanity (or before he turns black bellied).

I enjoyed Apocalypse Arrival a lot in the beginning because it reminded me of one of my favorite apocalypse survival novels, The Earth is Online. But I lost steam halfway through because the stakes are quite low. It's very smooth sailing for the heroine all the way and she doesn't ever face much of a challenge (this is one of my issues with most Chinese webnovels). I enjoyed the romance a lot but it is such a side-plot that there wasn't much focus nor scenes of it!!! So sad. I felt the story really shone with the dynamic between the two - how she saves him, how he opens his heart and devotes himself to her.

In this one, the story starts 10 years iirc past the apocalypse, where many side characters are already cold or calculating and the poor male lead has been tortured multiple times until he is lonely and half crazy but powerful. The details of the apocalypse and the monsters are sometimes skipped over, imo the plot is better explained in AA. There's an initial stronger focus on the touching and transformative relationship between the heroine and the male lead with more scenes from his perspective. It was very sweet reading about how he realizes that there is light in the endless dark tunnel that his life. After that the novel focuses more on the heroine's growth and the lessons she learns about life.

Overall, enjoyable, especially because of how the heroine is refreshingly comfortable with her feelings and desires and how she pursues the male lead. The dynamic between the two is just sooo cute. I could read a whole bunch of extras just about the two of them 🥺

First of all, read Apocalypse Arrival first!!! You'll miss out on so many things in this novel if you don't read it first!

This novel starts when the FL Chu Qianxun wakes up from a coma where she dreamed about the events from Apocalypse Revival and there are constant references to what happened in it.

Some of the themes of Apocalypse Revival are the different reactions of people in hard times, that even in an apocalypse, there are still good people, even though the wicked ones become even more wicked. The author does an excellent job of making villains that set your teeth on edge and you root for their downfall.

Given the title, I did not expect much from this. But honestly, I'm quite blown away. I really like both of the main characters - you can tell that they have such deep love and respect for each other, and a genuine desire to become better people. They never held each other back, and always stood by the other's decisions.

Highly recommended if you like this genre.

This was a very good read. Compared to the other/AU version, this was sweeter and the ML was more prominent, whereas in the other one the ML stood back in the background more. But the dynamic between the MC and ML was the same - MC was the one who took the lead in their relationship, which was pretty rare for Chinese LN.
This novel also showed more of a romantic relationship progression between MC and ML, whereas the other one felt more focused on MC developing her team/building strength.

I enjoyed seeing the same characters showing up in different context compared to their AU counterpart, although sometimes I lost track due to the number of characters showing up...

Not every malicious character got retribution, but strangely I didn't mind that - in an apocalyptic setting, it felt appropriate that a perfect happy ending didn't exist. It also never showed what happened to some side villains, but again it felt like... They're minor enough that I didn't care.

My initial rating was 4, but I added +1 for a female MC who's not afraid to take initiative in the relationship (both mental and physical).

This story is the sequel to Apocalypse Arrival (AA). The author has published this story with a new title 废土时代.

In this story, the author refer to the other world a lot and the premise is similar. Chu Qianxun dreamed of her other life (in AA) but she has lived 5 years of her life after the apocalypse. Obtaining the conviction, and coupled with some knowledge she got from the parallel world, she tried to get stronger to live better in this current world.

The character development is also quite good in this story, but I prefer AA story better because it is... happier. Albeit Jiang boy lived well in this world and became a strong general, the number of companions killed in this world was much more.

The ending for Qianxun and Peitian in this parallel world is quite satisfying. Even though the author can spin more stories, cutting it off where Peitian reached level 10 and they could start building their lives together without hiding was good enough for me.

I finished reading the English translation in 2 days because it was only 85 chapters.

I loved this story with an apocalyptic theme. It had depth and action and thrill. It just felt incomplete in the end. Status said that it is complete, but it didn't felt like one.

I didn't expect much but was curious. To my surprise I have fallen in love. The romance between the two was beautiful, and funny. The setting is grim but also hopeful.
