The final fae trial has come…
and surviving it is only the beginning.

As Ren prepares for her final judgment, a feat made difficult thanks to the Queen’s hold on her magic, she begins to realize winning will seal her fate.

Earning her place as the halfling princess will only lead her further from her goal—to rescue her mom from the goblins and return to their own world.

While the elves gather for her trial, the Goblin King makes his reappearance and Ren soon realizes going home is impossible.
War is coming to Feylin.

As the royals turn against each other will Ren be forced to betray those she has come to love?

Poor Renee has a really messed up family! Her dad’s soul is intertwined with the goblin king-not sure if he’s a villain or not, and half her family wants her dead, while the other half sees her as a tool. I’m enjoying all the family drama-personal conflict makes for great tension-and Renee’s refusal to conform to rules she knows are wrong. Plot is a little predictable, but fun to read.

Ren is still determined to save her mother, but has even more obstacles thrown at her in this book. The plot is heavier than book one as we are beginning to get into the heart of things and there are plenty of unexpected twists to keep the story interesting. We also get to learn more about Ren's family and how she ended up in her situation in this book.

The going is tough but Renee is bound and determined to find her mother. Held in the Queen’s dungeon awaiting her 3rd and final trial all she thinks about is rescuing her mother and somehow freeing all the prisoners and slaves. Her Aunt Cindra finally comes for her, Sacha and Mag to get ready for the trial.
This book has deception, twists and turns with a little romance thrown in.
Big things are coming and will Renee live through her next trial to see what it is.
I really enjoyed this book and series and I highly recommend this book and series.

As the second book in the series, I was amazed by the growth and development of the story and characters. I expected awesome and was not disappointed in the least. The plot thickened and twisted in ways I didnt see coming, and I found myself feeling the same as the MC. Just an amazing book, an amazing story, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

The goblin king enters the story, however he still isn’t taking a major spot as yet. Our halfling MC is still battling pure bred prejudices and family dysfunction has been supremely redefined by this cast of other world characters. Like a reality show family reunion with no clear lines of love or loyalty. Forget romance..love is a definite liability. It’s getting heavy folks, hold on good. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
