Really enjoyed her writing style, some of the essays were a fresh breath of air. Yet, some left me doubting her as a writer or even as an artist. She would spend essays after essays complaining about people criticizing her work without truly knowing her true self. But does true self truly exist? Aren't we all just a fragment of other people's perception of ourselves. Most of her criticism of modern society is spot on, she is begging for the younger generation to wake up and open their eyes to see what's behind the polluted city. Yet, in some of the essays, she would straight up generalize a whole gender, putting them in the same box where she was just begging for them to get out. Overall the book is quite enjoyable, but I also hope that the author broadens her view on people, gender, and society as a whole.
She got the ability to make things dramatic, a bit gloomy, and sad sometimes in her books. Seems like she sips her magic formula as a coffee while staring through the window and never leaves home. She narrated her childhood and teenage memories as a different people’s existence. She got the words, experience, and expression. But she got no stories that relate to her readers. And she keeps repeating how the people criticize her without getting to know her.- without getting to know her inner child. It seemed like her mama (in the book) is quite a storyteller as well. Her mama lived in a different era and her short stories in the book, were quite entertaining. I gave 3 tries to read UlziiTugs’s books and I got disappointed each time(honestly speaking). That's because I dig into non-fiction. Otherwise, she is an excellent writer, who found her way to express herself. Well done! *This is only my observations.
