S[inner]S' is a thought provoking and a humorous collection of poetry about love, hatred, betrayal, dishonesty, addiction, loneliness, rape, abuse, bars, alcoholism and depression.
In a few lines and illustrations, every page presents thought provoking, ideas and experiences that are often lived and endured by men and women in silence; taking the reader on a rich and a colorful journey of wonder and self realization.
"Maybe telling your story will teach me something about myself."
Started this like an hour ago? Finished it and was shocked. I went through an experience through this book. Completely dark and transparent, something some writers cannot delve deep into, for fear of revealing a sinister side of them. But this was appreciative work. The themes of betrayal, lies, alcoholism, depression, and love (etc.) are so common but sometimes failure in expression belittles the meaning. However, this book antagonized that in the sense where it was a simple sentence that says so many things.
The last time I read poetry this intensely was probably a decade ago, I'm still shocked at how absorbed I was whilst reading it. Predicting a binge-reread on a rainy and gloomy day with a cup of coffee and some Arctic Monkeys in the background.
This book defines an ultimate domino affect in both the characters and stories themselves. I start to question what/who the cause is and what the affect is- only to find that it spirals in a tight circle, coiling round and round (in his mind too)...like a snake.
So I just finished the book, and it was WONDERFUL!!!! It was so inspiring, honest, vulnerable, sad yet beautiful. It was ART and I loved it. I don't know you personally but I am so proud and I know you're going to many places!!!
first of all, this book is beautiful. it's illustrated beautifully. this book talks about love, abuse, rape, addiction and some old social injustices. I found truth in every page, even as someone who isn't personally familiar with some of the experiences, the method of delivery made me feel it on a personal level. I read this in one session. it was visually beautiful and emotionally stimulating, even to someone heartless like me. It was a whole journey and a commentary on many issues of middle eastern society. I loved it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have received an advance review copy of this book through Booksprout, and this is my honest review of the material.
Every now and again, you come across a book that is different and a breath of fresh air. I found this book quite interesting and thought provoking. Once I had read the first few pages I had to continue till the end. I thought quite a number of the pieces were inspiring and covered topics or moments I am sure many of us can relate. This is a well written book that reflects the realities of life quite eloquently. Highly recommended.
For a starter , I wish to thank the writer for such an amazing display with words.
This Book made me go through different emotions , magical contradictions between whats good and whats bad.The way it jumps with you through feels.Being torn between two things , like the pain with strength , dispare with hope and wanting something so bad with the will to let it go. I surely say , it's breathtaking. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for such display. ♡
Poetry is a necessity for me every now and then, a romantic respite from novels. Got my author’s copy a while ago and happy to be reviewing this.

This book was a time machine; it took me back and forth in folds but completely revealed. The words carried so much of what I once felt, which made the pieces more genuine and showed an actual part of the author’s. I love how the amount of pain was percolating from the pieces, that made it very relatable.
This is an amazing poetry book! The writing style is smart, precise, and focused whereby the author was able to depict his idea in short poems, giving the reader a chance to reflect and contemplate. The book took me through a journey into the darkness of humanity. I highly recommend this book and wouldn’t mind rereading it.
Each poem is 2-10 lines long. So many have so much truth in them. Some I could not identify with, i.e. the ones about whiskey and drinking but others I could so identify with. I plan on taking the poems that speak truth to me and contemplate them in my daily journal. These poems say a lot with few words.
This is one of the books that I just open on any day, on random pages, and reread. The poems aren't sweet as I'm used to, some are eye-opening, some bring back things I’ve been denying, and some are just current reality. I like how the author could put such huge feelings in very little words.
This is my first poetry book, and i think i want more of it! This is a great read! Its an emotional reading experience. Its a mix of dark, inspiring and got-me-thinking prose. Every phrase takes you to a different emotion, i woahed, smile, nodding myself and hmmmed and saying ‘dang right’ while reading. Its just how the world it is, from the authors perspective and me as a reader that agreeing on his writing. . If i have a highlighter and pen, all the phrase and wordings are just noted and highlighted. I love this book! And wanting more in the future. Im flipping the pages and then acknowledgment... i said to myself and surprise that it end so fast. You’ll love this read and unconsciously forget about time while diving to this great piece! Amazing!
