Mercy General #2

Dr. Tempt Me

Rate this book
She doesn’t date doctors.
I don’t date nurses.
Obviously, we’re going to end up in bed together.

Fiona Royle slammed head-first into my world with the tact of a pissed-off bull. She left me no choice but to try and seduce her.

Fortunately, I don’t back down from a challenge. Unfortunately, Fiona seems to hate me with a terrifying passion.

At first, it was all flirting and teasing. I told her she wanted to carry my baby, she kindly suggested I should operate on myself. Really lovely banter.

But we stumbled onto a plot by Mercy General’s administrator to steal from the hospital and things got serious.

Now we’re bound together tighter than either of us ever dreamed.

It’s heaven for me, and hell for her— but it won’t be hard to convince her she loves it as much as I do.

I’ll make her fall for me, one way or another, and we’ll save this stupid hospital in the process.

Welcome back to Mercy General! Dr. Tempt Me is a steamy doctor romance with a hint of action and plenty of sweet drama. Keep an eye out for some familiar faces! As always, my books can be read in any order, there’s no cliffhanger, and an HEA is guaranteed! Enjoy! XO BB

Doctor and Nurse join together to fight corruption at the hospital!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 👤👤👤👤

The setting: Mercy Hospital, Philadelphia, PA

The Hero(s): Dr. Dean Coarse – He grew up in a military family and moved around a lot. His father abused both his mother and himself. He is now a leading neurosurgeon at

The heroine: Fiona – Fiona was in a bad car accident in her teens which left her with a large scar on her stomach and more scars on the inside. She is a terrific nurse and cares a lot about the hospital and her own reputation. She doesn’t date and doesn’t sleep with doctors like some nurses do. Fiona was in the last book, Dr. Fake It and was the hard edged nurse that Gavin called upon for help.

The Love Story: Dean and Fiona overhear the hospital administrator talking about a deal involving a large sum of money with a shady guy. It looks like she is corrupt and possibly embezzling from the hospital or using the hospital to launder money for the mob. Dean and Fiona team up to get to the bottom of the situation because they both care about the hospital and its patients.

Both Dean and Fiona are determined not to get into any type of relationship. Fiona because of her scars and Dean because he doesn’t want to settle down and have kids since he is afraid of turning out like his father. However, they awaken feelings in each other that they both thought were dormant until they began spending time with one another.

I liked the fact that Fiona is a smart woman and a hard worker and Dean has a lot of admiration for her intelligence and abilities. Though the romance was a bit of a slow burn and I just couldn’t seem to get into this couple and what they were dealing with like I could in all of the previous books from B.B. Hamel, so though the book wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my favorite either.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Fiona doesn’t date Doctors and Dean doesn’t date nurses but soon sparks were flying between them and when the discovered a plot by a hospital administrator it brought them even closer together. Fast-paced read with great character, so much fun and steamy chemistry. Lots of drama and twists and turns. An entertaining read. I liked it.

I found this release to be an easy and engrossing read. B.B. Hamel consistently publishes beautifully written romances and Dr. Tempt Me is just another one for each of us junkies.

Inside this incredible book, you are introduced to a Nurse, Fiona and one gorgeous and determined Neurologist, Doctor Dean Course, as well as the trouble that they find themselves in at Mercy General Hospital. There is everything to adore about this release. You'll find drama surrounding the Mafia, and the Hospital Administrator, Maria, as well as the love that blooms between these two characters. Together they find their future and solve a destructive mystery surrounding the Hospital.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Dr. Tempt Me in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this release as well as anything published by B.B. Hamel.

We met Fiona in the previous book about Gavin and Erica. She is an RN at mercy. She keeps people at a distance and we learn more about why she such high walls and seems so angry and guarded. She was injured as a teen and her life because of that was completely altered. Know always thinking of herself as broken due to the fact she could no longer have kids. Dean is a neurologist with a not so pleasant past of abuse at the hands of his military father so he get having physical and emotional scars that linger. Thinking he would turn out like him if I’m a relationship. Dean stumbles on a convo between an admin and a shady character and pulls Fiona into the closet to listen. This starts their crusade. They can’t stand by and idly watch someone defraud the hospital and hurt patients and their well being. Maria the admin was essentially laundering money for them (mob) yup you guessed it we get ore mentions of our fave Leone crime family from the previous connected two series. So Dean and Fiona start spending time together to find evidence of the crimes and in that start to connect on a deeper level. Both falling for one another. Some crazy things happen, risks are taken, hot scenes develop and man oh man can Dean talk dirty. Will they put rum the mob or have to run like Gavin and Erica? Will Maria get caught? Will they give into their feelings and come together? Great story loved it. And loved the real life hospital atmosphere the author painted. As an RN. It’s all true. Hospitals are like little villages with gossip mills a plenty.

Fiona is a nurse at Mercy and has an attitude that most steer clear of, but she means well and doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize herself or her patients, in any way. But when she finds herself in a closet with Dean, she can't help but wander what would happen, what could happen...if only she wasn't broken. Could he ever love her? Or even really be with her?

Dean is a neurologist at Mercy and given his past, he doesn't date where he works or longer than a night, he doesn't trust himself after seeing how his dad treated his mom. Will the apple fall far from the tree or next to it? But when he overhears something that is bigger than him and sees Fiona coming close to the situation, he knows he has to save her from it. But in that small space, he wonders, if he is really broken or if he was just waiting for Fiona to come along.

This story has so much to offer, you will not be disappointed!!! Fiona and Dean team up, but turns out it is against the Leone Family, will they survive this? Their chemistry is unreal and when the walls break for both of them, they are on fire. I received an ARC of this book from the author.

This is a hate love story with Fiona a nurse and Dean a doctor at Mercy Hospital in Philadelphia. When Dean overhears a questionable conversation and Fiona is walking by he grabs her and they are in a small tight storage room and feel a connection she denies. Dean gets Fiona to help him figure out what’s going on at the hospital and along the way they run into trouble with the mafia. When these 2 spend time together Dean knows he wants more with Fiona but she has a very bad past that keeps her walls up tight and strong so when Dean slowly brings them down Fiona is more open to wanting more in her life and how it makes her feel good! Dean has a bad past also so she Fiona gives in to him he feels like he can give it a try. When the bad guys come after them Dean does what’s necessary to stop it and make those who are responsible to pay. These 2 fall in love for all the right reasons and learn to move forward after all the bad guys are taken care of. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Uncovering The Truth For Love -
Fiona and Dean inadvertently eavesdropped on a conversation, that set them on a dangerous path filled with threats and violence, as they investigated what they heard. Fiona didn’t let anyone get close to her, but the more time she spent with Dean, made her realise that she needed to change her behaviour. They were two people with painful pasts, but together they were meant to be together to become whole.

I really loved the beginning of the story, as it grabbed my attention and kept it all the way until the end. This story is action-packed, with engaging banter and exciting intimate moments, that will definitely confirm the reason why B. B. Hamel’s books are addictive.

I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Dean is a doctor at Mercy, and he overhears a conversation between the Mercy's General administrator and an unknown person, where he learns she is doing something shady, potentially with hospital funds. He nabs Fiona, and next thing Fiona knows it, she has been dragged into his plot to find out what is going on. Will this doctor and nurse team find out what's going on? Are they going to risk their lives to find it? I enjoyed Dean and Fiona's dangerous romance, they both are carrying some baggage (will they let each other in?), are hot together, and were both easy to like.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.

This book brings us Fiona and Dean. They both work at Mercy Hospital, Fiona being a well respected nurse, and Dean is a neurologist, known for his one night stands. They happen to hear something that they shouldn't have - the hospital administrator is sealing money from the hospital and they decide to get to the bottom of this. Fiona is not a fan of Dean at all. She is very self conscious of her scars after an accident in her teens. Dean is very afraid of becoming his father and he wants no part in that. Fiona was very hard to like and understand why she was as mean to Dean as she was. It was a good read. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Nurse Fiona Royle had her past ghosts still hurting her. Dr. Dean Coarse had sad memories of abuse and despair that make him fear for his future. When a fortuitous incident in the hospital put them in track of a seedy situation, they worked together to unmask the truth, opened their hearts to each other and together they faced their inner demons. Their lives were at stake but also, they had commitment and were smart enough to weight their choices and survive. Liked Dr. Dean’s character and how he took matters in his hands. Interesting story with suspense, intrigue, corruption, Mafia characters, strong emotions, violence, romance and passion.

We met Fiona is the last story, Dr. Fake It, and now we get her story! Fiona is a nurse who sees everything and has a serious dislike for playboy doctors. Dean overhears a conversation that he shouldn't have and grabs Fiona as she's walking by. As they try to come up an explanation of what they heard, undeniable sparks fly and she reluctanty agrees to help him find out what the heck is really going on. We re-acquaint ourselves with the Leone family and without giving too much more away.... this is another sexy adventure as we take another step into the world of Philly mafia, do-good doctors, and nerves as steel nurses! And as always, don't forget about the bonus epilogues!

This was a well written story, sizzling with tension and steamy in all the right places. Fiona and Dean both healthcare professionals, there lives become entangled when they overhear something the hospital administrator is involved in. Neither of them are wanting a relationship but the closer they work together the more complicated it becomes, but with it comes danger but from whom?? Fiona has reasons for her frostiness, could Dean be the one to thaw her out. There is plenty of action definitely not one to miss. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was totally happy to provide.

Great book. This one keep me on the edge of the seat. It made me want to keep reading to get to the end.
Dean knew he wanted Fiona the moment he pulled her into the supply room when they overheard the conversation with Maria. Dean wanted to take her down no matter what.
They got the proof they needed but he got his but kicked a few times but his father was abusive when he was young so he knew how to fight.
Fiona had her wall up to protect herself cause of her past from the accident she wouldn't let anyone in but slowly she let Dean in and let all the walls down. They went thru a lot to get their happy ever after

Fiona is the very embodiment of a cactus- all prickly all the time and acting superior. It took quite a bit for me to warm up to her character. I was glad when she finally came down off her high horse to reality. Dean was a force to be reckoned with and had a lot of integrity that I admired. He got injured and went above and beyond to correct wrongs done. I was sorry to see he got stuck with Vince, but glad that karma is getting a few licks at Vince, because I'm that kind of human being. Tit for tat!!!

This book will keep you guessing on what will happen next. Dean and Fiona have a ton of chemistry. Dean and Fiona fought the attraction at first because they both had past that made them feel relationships where risky. They had to work together to solve a problem after overhearing a conversation. This story will keep you guessing and wondering if they will be able to find the answers they where looking for and if they will get to have their happily ever after. You will not be able to put the book down.

This is Dean and Fiona’s story. These two works together at the hospital and Dean does not date nurses and Fiona does not date doctors, yet when he overhears a shady deal being discussed by the hospital administrator, Fiona happens to come across him eavesdropping, she is drawn into helping him discover what is going on. This is a well written intriguing story which is fast-paced, fun, steamy, and with twists, and drama, which all leads to an entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Tempt the chance
It is a very good romance with a touch of suspense because the two heroes, Fiona and Dean, accidentally stumble upon a conversation at the hospital where they work and they find themselves embarked in a mafia plot that overtakes them, but on which they continue their investigation.
I liked their romance which could have been simple, but which due to their violent past is difficult to overcome.

A real attention grabber!
This book got my attention from the very beginning with the hints there was something unscrupulous going on at the hospital. When Dean, a doctor at Mercy Hospital, overhears a conversation he immediately pulls Fiona into the situation. She eagerly agrees, and together they investigate discovering not only the crime that is being perpetrated but also love and trust.

BB Hamel does it again. This story draws you in right from the start. I love how the characters are well developed. You come to learn about them as they learn about each other. This is a doctor and nurse love story. With the Mafia thrown in to add an edge of danger. I was unable to put this book down. Christmas might be pushed back a day because I stayed up all night reading this one. I’m looking forward to Ms. Hamel’s next book. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. I loved Fiona and Dean’s story. It’s a hunky doctor and no nonsense nurse who come together to investigate corruption by the hospital’s administrator. The attraction is strong, but Fiona has a no dating doctors policy and Dean has no intentions off settling down. Mafia man, nosy coworkers, steamy love and the ever present Dr. Chen can be found in the pages of this book. BB Hamel never disappoints!

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book and I absolutely loved it.

This is the second book in the Mercy General series, it can be read as a standalone story. Fiona vows to never date doctors and Dean promises to himself not to date nurses....and then they hide in a closet and overhear drama that will change their lives...
Well written story, entertaining fast-paced storyline, characters are incredibly likable and relatable. Highly entertaining story.

Oh, it’s a bit of a mystery.

Dr. Dean and Nurse Fiona have a moment in the closet. No not the fun Grey’s Anatomy kind, nope, it’s a plan to defraud the hospital.

So, with the con to be solved, they get, um, close. Yeah.
I liked that Fiona was irritated by Dean and that Dean was Jonesing on her from the get go.

Recommend.

Borrowed on KU.

This was a very good read. I thought the story was very intense. A entertaining combination of action, emotion, drama, tension and heat. Fiona and Dean made quite the pair. The sparks sure were flying with every interaction these two shared. It did take me a bit to warm up to Fiona but it was worth the time it took. This is my frank, freely posted review.

I got to read this book as an arc. B.B.Hamel writes yet another great book. Dean and Fiona meet under weird circumstances. They over hear a conversation that affects the hospital. The two of them decide to get to the bottom of it no matter the cost. What they hadn’t planned on was falling in love with one another.

That was a great story. It was as one of my favorites from BB. It has suspense with a good how it was done mystery. The Who done it was revealed from the beginning but that ok because the whole story was to determine how and what was done and make them pay for it. Good job BB. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Nothing I love more than a romance book mixed with suspense. Dean and Fiona’s story was interesting form the beginning. Overhearing a conversation leads to love. This book includes an extended bonus scene!
