If you're looking for some light at the end of 2020, this is the book for you. The text combines inspirational and uplifting writing with tangible actions, called "light lifts" at the end of each chapter. Incorporating these light lifts into my daily routine has shifted my perspective, motivation, and habits for the better. Make reading this text, and following its calls, one of your 2021 resolutions!

Shine feels like a quiet conversation you didn’t realize you needed.

Written during one of the most uncertain seasons in recent history, the book carries that tenderness , not urgency, not panic, but care. It doesn’t try to fix the world in sweeping declarations. Instead, it gently asks the reader to pause, breathe, and look inward.

What I appreciated most is its simplicity. At just around 100 pages, it doesn’t overwhelm. You can read it in one sitting, but it lingers far longer than a quick flight. The blend of short reflections, poetry, and practical exercises makes it feel interactive rather than instructional. You’re not being told what peace looks like, you’re being invited to discover your own version of it.

There’s also something honest about its origin. You can feel that it was born from a real question: What will help right now? That sincerity gives the book warmth. It doesn’t pretend darkness doesn’t exist. Instead, it acknowledges it and offers balance, the idea that light and shadow coexist, and that joy doesn’t require denying struggle.

This isn’t a loud self-help manifesto. It’s a steady companion. A reminder that even in fatigue and uncertainty, we still have the capacity to reflect, recalibrate, and shine in ways that feel authentic.

A gentle, thoughtful read for anyone looking to rediscover calm and clarity in the midst of noise.

I mean, can I review my own book here on Goodreads?? If so, here's what I will say. This is hands down my favorite book I've ever written. It did not come from me, but through me. It's the only book I've ever written that I'm not completely sick of by the time I'm done because of its time line, but also because I feel like it has the potential to bring each reader's awareness to their own glorious beauty, and also help them put a daily ritual in place to strengthen their confidence, happiness, peace, and consciousness about how when they shine, the whole world shines.
