Giving away a billion dollars shouldn’t be this hard.
Maxence saved Dree Clark from some bad guys in a Parisian bar, then he turned up on a charity mission to Nepal, so how the heck is he the Prince of Monaco?
Or, well, not the prince. A prince. He’s the not head honcho because Monaco doesn’t have a sovereign prince right now. But it needs one.
Maxence is the next person in line for the throne, but he doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want anything to do with it. But other people do want the throne and the billions in wealth that go with it, people with evil agendas or who just want the money. Max is the only guy who stands in their way.
And good people seem to be in short supply.
Plus, he’s distracted by the constant thorn in his side, Dree Clark, who he’s conscripted to be his new secretary. Her curves drive him out of his mind, and her sweet soul is more than he’s ever hoped for. He wants to chase her around the desk and then run away with her to somewhere safe.
Because Monaco is anything but safe for Prince Maxence.
Blair Babylon is the nom de plume of an award-winning, USA Today-bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, erotic romance.
We get yet another side of Maxence in this book. Kinky billionaire, dedicated volunteer, and now domineering prince. After the emotional adventure that was the previous book, I felt a bit let down, mostly because there was a lot of talking in this one, and not a lot happening–until the very end. But it was still an interesting episode in Dree and Maxence’s story.
After the last passionate night they spent together in Nepal, I wasn’t expecting where their relationship went here. Being back in Monaco as the heir apparent means Maxence is in potential danger, and Dree too by extension. To protect her, he should let her go. But he can’t, so he makes her his assistant and hides what she really means to him. Of course, he can’t stay away from her and soon does things he shouldn’t, like taking her outside the palace, or inviting her in his apartments.
Whether Max becomes the Prince or he finds another candidate and finally becomes a priest, Dree can’t be with him. Moral and social codes should keep her from even sleeping with him. Morally, the way they work around the rules was questionable. It was interesting to see them both in denial though, and find excuses to spend time together. But the same reasons why they shouldn’t be together cause them heartbreaks and even desperation at times. The difference between them is that Max is in a position of power, and he can change the rules, while she’ll always be a pawn. They don’t see eye to eye in their relationship.
While the relationship is going, or not, the main subject in this book is the political intrigues. Like every good royal romance, you have rivals, allies, conspiracies. Between those who don’t want the title, and those who want it too much, Max is trying to find the perfect Prince for Monaco, because he thinks of the people. Not to the extent that he would renounce his vows though–even though a few characters debate that Max would do great as the Prince. But those intrigues are mostly conveyed through conversations, sometimes the same people meeting several times with Maxence. It lacked a bit of tension and danger.
Until the end and the cliffhanger. I’m curious about the next book.

4.5 star Review Prince (A Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence #3) by Blair Babylon
AUDIO REVIEW:
Firstly you must listen to this series in order so if you have not read or listened to the previous books in this series then you need to STOP and do so before you move on to Prince. Continuing Maxence Grimaldi and Dree Clark’s story this was a fast paced story that was gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Narrated by Shane East and Lucy Rivers, they did a great job in bringing Ms.Babylon’s story to life and I really enjoyed listening to Prince. This book has numerous twists and turns and cemented my love for Maxence and the woman who captured his heart Dree.
Maxcence is such a complex man and Shane certainly captured this in his performance. The chemistry that smoulders between Dree and Maxcence continues to tantalize and the connection between them is deep.
Maxcence wants nothing to do with ascending the throne and becoming the next Crown Prince of Monaco and there are many enemies who want to ensure that this doesn’t happen. The danger is real as things heat up in this fast paced adventure which had me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story.
Prince was well written, witty, nail biting, suspenseful, intriguing and after the way this book ends I am impatient for the next book which concludes this series.

Forewarned this would be a cliffhanger, I was still disappointed when I reached the end of the ARC and was left hanging. The occurrences leading up to the “end” were not entirely unpredictable. They were the sort of thing I knew might happen, but hoped wouldn’t. But Blair Babylon likes to torture her characters before she’ll allow an HEA. Although I didn’t like this installment of the story as much as the last one, it was the natural progression of events so I cannot criticize it. As in previous books, Dree is a regular comedian, dubbing Maxence: “His Serene Highness, Prince Maxence of Monaco, Count of Wherever, Lord of Someplace She’d Never Heard Of, Emperor of His Own Massively Inflated Ego, the Duke of Stick It Up His Noble Ass, and Royal Guy Who Evidently Didn’t Want to Get Laid if He Treated People Like That.”
Again, the subject of narcissists in power was touched upon, with ample references to Pierre and Jules, Max going so far as to say someone like Jules “would seek out and sign treaties with other countries that would give him more power and money with no regard for how it affected Monaco’s citizens. Indeed, he would enjoy making them more miserable, more helpless, with less money and power, more like medieval serfs than citizens, because it would demonstrate his power over them. Strippping people of their citizenship, humiliating them, even allowing his own people to become sick and die would excite him. He literally gets high from it. It proves to him that he has the power of life and death over those people, that he can crush them, and no one can stop him. He would enjoy destroying Monaco just because he could do it. Yes, he’s evil. He’s evil to his very core.” When Dree suggests someone with an MBA or a law degree would probably run the country well, Max responds: “Corporate drones are inherently sociopathic and destroy anything they get their hands on. They think they know how to run a company, but their vice presidents and admins really do the work the whole time. Because they focus on boosting short-term profits to keep the stock price high, they don’t know how to invest in and manage a country and citizenry to prepare for the next century. They play too much golf and screw it up. And then they burn down the economy because they were too lazy to do the job right, and they’re mad about it.” In case that didn’t drive home Ms.Babylon’s point strongly enough, Dree later observes that “only a childish narcissist would crap in a golden toilet.” Maybe it’s a bit heavy-handed, but I suspect those most unwilling to recognize these observations are the ones most likely to need it. Regardless, I loved it.
Xan Valentine and Georgie make an appearance in the book and I loved Dree’s impression of Xan: “His blond hair just past his shoulders seemed perpetually being blown back by the forward momentum of his ambition.” I also chuckled when she thought to herself that sex with her previous boyfriend “felt like stuffing a protein bar in her mouth because she was hungry.”
There are several references to Francois the Malicious and the statue in his honor. Dressed as a Fransicsan monk, he tricked the guards into letting him into the palace, only to pull a knife and turn on them, killing several guards before allowing his army inside to take the fortress. This is Max’s ancestor, the first in the line of succession of Grimaldis. Upon closer inspection, Dree says he looks exhausted and maybe he was just desperate to end the war, willing to do anything to achieve that goal. Max counters that maybe the real message of the statue is that you can never tell whether someone is malicious or not, just by looking at them. He continues, “Or perhaps just a warning that all Grimaldi are malicious at heart.” I believe there is some serious foreshadowing going on here, in regard to both of their assumptions. Many of the Grimaldi have shown they are vicious and self-serving, but there’s another part of me that wonders if the desire to “end the war” might be a motivating factor to push Max to do something that might otherwise be viewed as malicious. After all, he has been disguised as a Jesuit priest wanna-be all this time. What if that “calling” of his has actually been an unconscious calling to take control and end the war? And maybe that is the reason for his special gift?
Sometimes there are too many characters, sometimes there are too many sidelines, sometimes the plot just doesn't work. All of those things happened here. Way to slow. I will try the last story, but I have had it with this author's endless sequels.
Royal intrigue and danger is at a fever pitch in the Prince. Nothing is as it seems and people are not to be trusted. Keeping your enemies close is as good as a death sentence in this race to be the most powerful man. Wow! What a brilliantly heart-stopping suspense story that will slowly build the tension while it tightens its scintillating tentacles around your heart! There is truly never a dull moment, and just when you think you see the end in sight, you are thrown over the highest, most treaturous cliff with no hope of a safe landing in sight.
Maxence know he has a duty to fulfill, but he is sure he can skirt by and pass it off to some deserving soul. After all, his heart is set on another prize - the priesthood. Dree is playing a part to do what she can to help Max during this time of transition and negotiation. Then, she is off to a new life. Will her heart let her walk away, and can Max honestly let her leave his life for good?
Dree has seen her life explode before her eyes, and when she didn't know where to turn, she walked into Maxence's strong arms. She expected nothing, but her heart still won't let her walk away. Maxenece blessed the day he met Dree, and then cursed the days he got to know her better. She was everything he could ever want, but he knows he cannot truly have her. She is his desert mirage as it begins to fade from existence.
Blair Babylon has brought us the next installment to this deadly and stunning royal journey. You will either sing to th Heaves or curse the day she was born. Either way, you will experience the highest of ecstasy and the bitterness of betrayal. Nothing will prepare you for what you will find within these pages, so God speed and happy reading!
Scary Courtly Machinations and Tangled Hearts in the Sheets!😱💥💞🔥🙏 Passive Aggressive Threats To Murder.😲😭💥 Prince (Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence #3)
Well I'm left breathless, stunned & kind of terrified for the conclusion of Max & Dree's story to come.😳😢💔
Max annoyed me a little in this book with his flip flopping. Dree warned him not to mess with her heart & I didn't feel he played fairly or completely honestly with her throughout!😔 Boy did he teach her how he liked to play in the bedroom though.😉 She is given a seductive & rapid education into Max's kink, it's just as well, because it's drawing out all of her darkest desires too!😍🔥
Most want Prince Maxence to become the Crown Prince, a very obvious rival exists though. How far will they go to secure the throne of Monaco for themselves? Are others playing a more quiet & deadly game in the shadows??😳 Can Dree save herself from the courtly intrigue?🙏
This is a darker book than the two previous ones. I enjoyed all of the everyday running of the Principality & behind the glamour, showing of the palace at work.👍 Dree & Max often felt a bit fragmented & separated throughout the book. They were kept apart by society, expectations, her safety & their individual lodgings!😔 His family often leave a lot to be desired!😡 I look forward to seeing what happens to our duo next with nervous trepidation but also a simmering excitement!🌟
I actually listened to the audiobook version, but I have the ebook as well. The reason I am giving this book four stars instead of five is that I don't feel like the plot really moved forward much in this book. We knew that Max and Dree were headed to Monaco because he was next in line for the throne and there was going to have to be a Crown Prince named after the death of his uncle and brother. Dree was coming to be Max's assistant and to hide out from the drug dealers her ex-boyfriend sent after her. That is more or less where we are at the end of this book. There is a lot of talk of the machinations for naming the next Crown Prince. There is a lot of talk about their relationship. There is a lot of talk about what they want for the future. And then there is a cliffhanger for the next book.
This is a book that I didn't want to start. Partly because I didn't want it to finish, and one naturally follows the other. But also, because I didn't want to see where it went.
Obviously, this is not the concluding chapter of Max's story. Which inevitably means a cliffy is coming (and it does). But I didn't see these particular twists coming. I was a bit gobsmacked to be honest.
This one put me through the wringer. It really did. Highs. Lows. Weird twists. Loved every word.
More please.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
The suspense is ramping up! Each book in this series is better than the last! I want to know what happens but I don't want it to end! I want to read about Max and Dree forever. Honestly only Blair could make political meetings sexy. The whole book has more sexy this time around actually. There are also some funny moments that I loved. If you haven't started this series you need to!
5 star read!!!!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Audio Review: Prince (Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence, #3) by Blair Babylon, Narrated by Shane East and Lucy Rivers
Prepare to be caught up in a danger that never ends. Maxence and Dree are back to tempt with suspense. With a twist around every corner and an attraction that only grows stronger, Maxence and Dree are in over their heads. Will love be their saving grace or eternal downfall? Spicy seduction with a suspenseful twist. Unpredictably at it's finest.
Max books not nearly as good as previous books in the series. I will get the last one, but definitely not as engaging as the Flicka. Too much description and confusion with characters.
This is a good addition to the Maxence series, which I have been waiting for. Maxence is an interesting character, and this book provides more information about his past and his romance with Dree.
It bothered me that Maxence let Dree think she was just working for him, and they weren't going to be a couple anymore -- when he was really keeping her with him to protect her. She does realize later that they are still a couple, but I didn't like that he hurt her before she realized that.
It also bothered me that Maxence was so open to sexual experiences, even though he had taken a vow of celibacy in his quest to become a priest. I get that he probably isn't really going to end up as a priest, but it still bothers me that he broke his vows so much. He did feel guilty about it, and always confessed, but still ...
I will say that I prefer romances to have less kinky sex. Ever since 50 Shades of Grey was such a success, most romances feature at least some BDSM and some kinky scenes. This is true of most of Blair Babylon's books and series. This series seems to get a little kinkier and contain more BDSM with every book. Some of the kink in this one bothered me, as it seemed a bit extreme. I get that some people really enjoy that in romances, but I just don't find hurting your lover romantic. I still read Blair's books, because her writing/plots are very good -- but I wish more romances would feature love scenes that do not contain BDSM or a lot of kink.
I am glad I waited until all the Maxence books were out to start this series -- because I can't wait to find out what happens next. I won't give spoilers on the other Billionaire books, but I will say that I absolutely did not think Pierre suffered enough for what he had done. I also hope that Maxence's Uncle Jules gets what is coming to him before this series ends -- sounds like he deserves it.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Maxence is torn, his mind and his body at constant odds, setting his mind on the edge of surrender. His life is a world of pain, a black sky dotted with the light of shining stars - his loved ones. But his North star, Dree, is dangling right in front of him, so close and yet so out of reach...
Max is torn, his dreams and his duty at constant odds, setting his mind on the edge of surrender. He feels his future is in God's service, but he cares too much to abandon his legacy in the hands of villains. But his heart is always in the right place - he is a champion of the many and a duty-bound royal. Who is a real prince? The one who abuses his rights or the one slave to his obligations? Neither, I think - it is the one who can keep the balance who should reign.
There are so many complex emotions in this book, and the story brings them to the fore. If you expect a police thriller you will be disappointed - I could see the villains and the traitors a mile away. But its value rests in its psychological dilemmas, in its intricacies of love and pain. That doesn't mean it's boring! The pace is fast and the characters unique, and I can't wait to see what's next!
Maxence is larger than life in this story, and it makes me want to know him, to find out what makes him tick and how much he's willing to sacrifice - for his country, for the love of his life, for a place in this world where he can be happy. In this book, we discover so many of the things from his past that make him the man he is today and explain why he doesn't want to rule, why he just wants to do the things that he is happiest doing. He has a special power of persuasion, but it doesn't work on Dree the way it might on others. Still, he is captivated by her and has trouble staying away from her even though he knows it puts her in danger. So many exciting things happen through this book as their relationship develops and he makes decisions he never considered until he met her. It's sweet and powerful and sexy and all of the things I expect when reading a story written by this author. And the ties to history as we know it - or don't know it - make everything feel like it hits a little more close to home. I am super excited to read the next one in the series.
I really enjoyed reading Prince(Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence Book 3)!!! All about Maxence Grimaldi is known as Deacon when he is pursuing his charity work, but when he’s in Monaco he’s Prince Maxence. His brother Pierre his the crowning Prince, and Maxence is next in line. While he’s in Nepal on a Catholic Charity mission, the head of his brother’s security team comes to bring him home. His brother committed suicide. He’s now the next in line, and will be elected Prince of his country. Read about Max & Dree, and how they both come to terms with him become King. There is tons of emotions and lots of toe curling incidents throughout the story!!! You have to read this series in order, and it’s amazing and you won’t want to miss anything about Max & Dree!!! Definite Read!!!!
Medieval castle, sumpuous casino & MAX ;) Woo Hoo! OMG! Blair Babylon must have 'insiders' within the super royal walls of Monagasquay! In this royal principality one escapes from the overwhelming ocean to the medieval castle, the sumptuous casino, multitudes of people of all religions and color and a plethora of devious machinations. Atmosphere - Gorgeous! Storylines - more twisty, turny than...Well you read these books, lol! Sex - Off the charts! Then, grab hold of your seats or a nice decanter of MacAllan...this fantastical dance of Dree & Maxence's implodes in a billion dark, shiny, terrifying pieces. I'm literally counting the days until "Royal". Promises to be worth the wait ;)
Maxence finds himself back home, the last place he wants to be, playing the role of the ruler while he tries to convince someone else to take the job. The problem is no one else who isn't corrupt wants it and the ones who want it won't do the job well. Besides the welfare of his country's citizens he has to protect Dree so he gives her a job and tries to keep her unobtrusively near, but when they're alone she's his to play with. How can he balance all of this while he prays about his future in the priesthood? Page turning action and suspense from the creative mind of Blair Babylon.
I absolutely love Wulf and Rae, they have always been my favorite, but Max and Dree are really gaining that spot! OMG, what a cliffhanger this is!!! I never really trusted Quentin Sault and knew that he did not shield Dree from Kir. I can’t believe that they openly kidnapped Max & REALLY will be shocked that Quentin would support Jules he has worse plans for Monaco than anyone else, who does Marie-Therese’s loyalty really belong too. Thank goodness for Max’s quick thinking to call Arthur!!! Hopefully, he heard Dree as she was being abducted, too. I can’t wait for the next chapter to unfold!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Tempt audiobook - I have finished the first four books of the six book series and while I like the MMC and FMC I probably will not read/listen to the last 2 books. Each book ends on a cliffhanger, which is kind of exciting… But I’ve kind of gotten bored with the story. The author went to a lot of trouble, researching the history and politics of Monaco to make this book more believable-ish. But by the end of book 4 it’s just so wild and out there. And so far ithere is very little spice. And the spice is not that spicy. Just saying.
Prince: Royal Romantic Suspense (Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence Book 5)
Dree and Maxence story is so very exciting. I really have gotten caught up in their escapades. Maxence finally realizes how much he loves Dree and they are both kidnapped. Dree by the Russian Mafia and Maxence by his own Security People. I look forward to the next book Royal to find out what happens with Maxence and Dree.
Great romantic suspense story continues in Monaco! The royal family has a problem, the heir apparent has killed himself and left a mess to be cleaned up! Max has stated that he does not want to be the prince but does it matter and why are there sneaky things going on??? Well crap need the next book to find out! Sort of like the old serial movies on Saturday!
Continuing the evolution of Maxence personality and his controlling relationship with Dree. Be prepared to not be able to put down this book and get the next one. After reading this book I think I need oxygen my heart is splitting. I’m grateful the whole series is published so I can continue reading the following books.
This book has been a real adventure. I want the kidnappers caught, Quntin Sault caught and executed. I knew he was bad news and Maxcence should have hired his own security force. Dree is strong snd I am sure she will figure her way out of this mess, not of her doing, That’s it for now I must the next book. Love it all.
Book 3 leads us to see our two characters in yet another role. The danger and intrigue ripples all around them. I feel as if Dree did not feel the full impact of everything she uttered, so in the end, it all caught up with her and unfortunately trapped Max once again. Really enjoyed this and look forward to the next.
It took me 3 books to realize. I have enjoyed this book and the previous 2 if I ad realized it was a cliff hanger I would not have bought them. I will not buy another of her books unless they clearly state they are not cliffhangers What a waste of time. This book ends with the Prince getting engaged then kidnapped. His girl taken by the Russian mob.
My GOODNESS !!!!! Poor Max has really gotten himself into a pickle in this book !!!
He is still being pulled in so many directions, he might as well be one of those stretchy dolls !!! In this book Our Max is desperately trying to keep himself and Dree alive by claiming that he is Still going to be a Priest. Even though he has meetings scheduled all day that keep Monaco running. Even though he promotes Monaco at several key functions and fund raisers and parties, and events. Even though his Uncle Jules is Not his only threat !!!
Dree is his ," administrative assistant " , does her job, as well as some other things that a true assistant may or may not do 😆😆 The ante truly goes up in this book, and , of course, the ending only leaves me feeling like there is WAYYYY more issues to resolve then one last book in this series can possibly do !!
This book had me feeling sad, then mad, then happy, then afraid then wanting to slap both him and Dree upside the head!!!!
I did enjoy the way Monaco is described and how the ," below stairs " , people who are staff, and so much more , absorbed Dree like the family they were.... Found myself yelling at Dree more then once for stoopid things that she said and did. Also yelled at Max for being pulled this way and that. And also doing stoopid things 😆😆 The sex was also very magnificent !! 😆😆😆 All around a great read in the ongoing saga of Dree and Max !! There is absolutely a ," cliff hanger " , at the end , as this is a SERIES!!! I ABSOLUTELY hate it when I read a review, and the reviewers act like they don't know that this is a SERIES ....... So of course there is going to be a point where the situation suddenly stops. So, if that is NOT your thing, then now is the time to read this SERIES from the beginning. Because the next book will not be out for Months. Personally I am so excited for the next book, as always !!
I cannot WAIT for the next Max book! I absolutely HATE cliffhangers BUT in this with Blair Babylon I make exceptions. I don't know what I'll do when she's finished with Max's story. Hopefully, she'll have somebody else's story half written!
This is one of best series to read ,about Royal Family , many twist intern you don’t know which way to go.lust love betrayal, Commitment loyalty.Maxence a Dom in the bed room . I love this book can’t wait for the next book.
