Chance McGhee is a few months shy of her 40th birthday and marrying the man she's spent the last three years with until he dumps her two months before the wedding. In the meantime, she's on a plane headed to meet her judgmental family in Jamaica. A trip she's not looking forward to until she's seated beside Mason Gray. Mason is a recent widower vacationing alone, but he's also handsome, smart, and thoughtful saying all the things Chance's heart is yearning for. O-M-G this was a great read. The family in this book was very dysfunctional. Chance is a very broken woman and some of this comes from her family. Chance had to learn to love herself and to forgive those that hurt her. This book had me experiencing so many different emotions. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Another great book

Mrs Lakisha always keep it real in her books and this time she did not disappoint. In this book she reminds us that forgiveness is really for us and not them, that love conquers all and we do get another chance. Her characters are so real and relatable that I wanted to fight Taylor and their mother. This is one you will not put down until the end.

Chance McGhee should have been preparing for her upcoming nuptials, but is on a family vacation ALONE, after being dumped by her fiancé, who was also her pastor.

On the plane, she meets Mason Gray, a widower who is also traveling alone. Unbeknownst to others, he has been having visions of his new bride, and is aggressive in his pursuit of her…and her ministry.

This was such a beautiful love story by @kishajohnson. She provides proof that God will move certain people out of your life, in order to make room for the one that He designed to be in your life. Grace and Mason were destined to be together, in life and in ministry. The flow of the story was smooth and the character development was on point. The plot twist didn't surprise me, because I saw it coming. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

This catalog has me in a chokehold, and I literally have to pull myself away, thank God for the Intel, and process the lessons learned.

My book and scripture journals can attest to that!

Another Chance

This book was like watching a movie about a dysfunctional family with a Christian mix involve. Chance met Pastor Jake she use to be a gospel singer after meeting this pastor Jake he told her that her singing is taking away his spotlight in the church, so he had her writing his sermon. Couple weeks prior to their wedding he broke up with her. Chance took the honeymoon all by herself. On the flight to Jamaica she met Pastor Gray, who lost his wife to cancer they chat and eventually they became friends. Chance was celebrating her 40th birthday so pastor took her out to dinner he met her family who hated Chance reason her mother said she look exactly like her husband mother that she hated. Anyways the drama unfold marriages and families lives were broken with secret told. It's a very interesting story. Inspirational, lots of scriptures quoted. In the end Chance married pastor Gray.To get the full story please read. Love

Wow! What a spirit filled read! There were so many emotions felt throughout this story. Anger, forgiveness, redemption and love. Chance's family was just trash! The way they treated her was horrible, yet she stood strong! Then Jeff's disappointment, just about pushed her to her breaking point. Meeting Mason on that flight, was entirely God's plan. Perfect strangers having a conversation. He enlightened her to some things she overlooked in past relationships, and quoted some scriptures to make her think about how to move going forward. Mason! Although still grieving his wife, he knows that he still has the capacity to love again. I loved how Mason actively pursued Chance, while allowing her to rebuild her relationship with God, and to heal herself. Chance, by allowing God to lead her this time around, the love she found was real, and would last a lifetime. Great read! 👍👍👍

Awesome

Another awesome book. There are times when people give up on you, it is okay to take another chance. Our plans are not always the plan that God has for us.

Forty something loves....

It was something about this book that drew me to it. I was actually in the middle of another novel and stumbled across this one. This book was a masterpiece. It was well written, full of drama, realistic, and had magnificent biblical references. The scriptures used throughout the book fit perfectly in each part.

Chance had a rough life all the way around between her personal and family. Those two factors are pretty much your whole life besides your career. I was glad when she was able go, forgive and move on from her family. When her brother and father finally came to their senses, I was thinking about time. It's going to take a lot more of everything prayer, etc. for Taylor and Camila. The saying that Maya Angelou coined, "when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time," is exactly what Chance had to do for Jeff. All of the red flags she ignored throughout unfortunately hurt her in the end. The god sends and blessing that was, sent her way by the name of Mason was hers forever. He was exactly what and who she needed in her life. He was a provider spiritually, emotionally, and financially. He also let her walk in her purpose. Chance and Mason are purpose partners.

I enjoyed this book because it exhibited a love between two adults at forty years old. They are going to live happily ever after as any couple. They are also building an empire by starting a family, buying a house together, supporting each other in their purpose. This was inspirational to lots of people that are forty still wanting their forever love and all it encompass.

"Another Chance" by Lakisha Johnson

My Opinion:

'Another Chance' was quite a story that involved a woman who had been broken in so many ways in her life, with a lot of it coming from her own family. Will Chance be able to forgive those who had hurt her and, most of all, love herself. Be ready for a good read of many emotional moods all over the place, which proved that many of our plans might not be precisely what has been the plan for us by God. Pick up this good read to see how this author brings it all out and, in the end seeing how God works in our lives, giving us just what we need.

A God of chance🙌🙌🙌

I started reading LJ books after reading still fighting the book she wrote about her twin reminding us we are our sibling keepers!
Reading this story about Mason & Chance reminds me of Gods promise in Jeremiah 29:11-14. Chance called on God, she had to go back to being aligned with God. Praying, worshiping, listening & trusting in God. Only then did she see the chance God had for her called Mason. Mason was the 💕 she had been searching for packaged by God unlike Jeff who was of flesh. God uses LJ to minister to her readers. Preach on LJ, I am on a roll reading your books. Thank you for ministering to us. I got to learn of new musician- Callie Day, James Fortune & Kierra Shepard. I listen to gospel music . God bless you!!

Tears/Anointed

This book was confirmations for many things for me. Broken relationships/ marriages, family pain and all. This was like is was reading about parts of my life. I’ve had to overcome many things, heart ache and pains. My hardest was being mad at God for some stuff and losing what I had. Now I’m trying rebuilding my relationship with Him and not allow my self to get in the way. I said that to say this book is a story that needed to be written for me and I thank you. Chance story was my story, her healing will be my healing. Mason loving her through her pain was that of God. Again this a great book and I really enjoyed it through my tears!!

Exceptional as usual. I started reading this book last night. I am struggling with some marital issues and I have been sad and depressed. As I read, I thought about how i have placed myself last and devalued myself. My heart has been hurting and I cried along with Chance. The part that has the most profound impact is Proverbs 4:23. God gave me affirmation about protecting my heart. Although I have read most of your novels, this one is the one that hits home. As long as you keep writing, I will keep reading. Thank you.

What an extraordinary message! I have loved your gift since reading, "When the Vows Break" I have to admit, my Amazon page of your books are almost all green. I have enjoyed and been entertained by this work of splendid writing. I did not think that your writing could improve, it has!
When I read your books, I go to church, Bible study, prayer meeting, praise and worship and hear a great message. Thank you, author and pastor LaKisha. The themes of love, forgiveness, many second chances and pain. You are real, I as a Christian lose my mind and curse, I love and continue to grow.

Must read

I felt so bad because of the way Chance was treated by her family. How can a mother dislike her own child? Jeff deserved every bad thing he got, his itinerary was not to praise God but to be worshipped by others.
When Chance was in Jamaica worshipping by the ocean, my tears wouldn't stop flowing. I felt that in my soul. I was happy God brought Mason into her life. He was was her saving grace.
When Chance said she was just gonna be still and let God bring her a husband I felt that was what we all need to do.
First time reading this author but not the last.

Wow!. Another great book by Lakisha Johnson. You know the saying that a man's enemies are sometimes members of his household, was a cry true saying as regard Chance. I could feel the intense hatred reverberating from the pages of the book and I just keep wondering why would a mother hate a child so much. I was happy Chance could eventually snap out of their claws and love her life to the fullest. Forgiveness was also key but very difficult, it wasn't easy to deal with forgiving a family that has wronged her but she did eventually. I learnt a lot from the book. My take home was
💥you can't force people to accept you, so love your life for you and be happy about your decisions.
💥forgive and let go, it's the best decision.
💥stay with someone that seeks your growth and isn't intimidated by your success.
💥never settle for less in a bit to fit into societal views.

Yasssss!!

Beautifully written book about regular day to day life struggles and the short comings on man. God shows that he is there, willing and fully able in giving us what we need and preparing us for what we don't. This had so many facts and God winks in it that could help us all out. Earth is ghetto and life can be extremely hard but nothing you may go thru should stop you from seeking God. This author is very blessed and Im so happy to had the pleasure of reading this book.

This is not my first time reading books by this phenomenal woman of God. This book has given me new hope for "Another Chance " of love. Although I'm a senior citizen, I still believe in the power of prayer and love. I'm turning my desire for my Boaz over to God. Thank you Pastor Johnson for restoring my faith. I pray that there will be a sequel to this book. May God continue to smile and bless you abundantly.

Amazing

Words can’t describe how well written this book is. You don’t have to be a devout Christian to read or understand it. Many women go through torment right on this earth by family , whose supposed to show love. That’s not always the case. Your family can hurt u deeper than any outside enemy. No matter how many books I read by this author, she always put her heart in it. Keep writing sis!!!! One day I’ll find my courage to write as well 🤎

Awesome Love story! My husband passed away in 2018. We were married for 29 years. Since that time I have been single. I have been asking God to send the man that he created for me to me. During my praying and waiting, I refuse yo settle for anything less than God’s best. Like Chance, before getting married I have given my heart to men that were undeserving of it. This time I am doing it 100% God’s way. I know he has a second Chance love just for me.

Thanks sharing

I really appreciate all the series that the Authors have written. This series right here was on fire. I'm happy that Chance found her voice again and also found true love. The way her family treated her was wrong but I knew it was because of jealousy. I'm happy her dad and brother came around and she forgave them. The mom and sister are going to suffer big time. I loved everything about Marcy and her dad just what Chance needed. This is a must read 🔥❤️💯🙏🏽💪🏽

Redemption

This book was everything I needed at this moment. This is a reminder of who God is and how faithful He is to us. The characters are a testimony to so many people and how we can overcome them by getting out of God's way and following His will for our lives. I enjoyed how the book showed the power of love, forgiveness, redemption, overcoming adversity, healing, worshipping, and the power of prayer.

Chance is a smart, talented, beautiful woman. From the outside looking in know one can see the cracks within from the mental abuse from family and the man she has loved for the last three years. On the eve of her 40th birthday all the pain she has kept inside comes flooding out like a tsunami making landfall. ”Something has to break.”

Just one more time

As usual Lakisha Johnson knocks it out the park with this spiritually fulfilling story. She takes you into the minds and hearts of the characters and makes you root for them and want to smack the antagonist for hurting them. Kudos Ms. Johnson for an entertaining read with a lesson all wrapped up in one.

Happy Reading,

Just what I needed

Sometimes you come across things unexpectedly and realize, it was just what you needed. I needed this read! Although, I haven’t lose a spouse by death, but divorce can feel like death. Finding the word in this book and allowing me to “find my voice again,” I found my second chance. Thank you for this much needed word. GREAT READ!

This book had so many meaning. Just when you want to give up and throw in the towel God continue to give us chances. In this book as well as her others, Author Lakisha had a way to make you see how God uses us in many ways and that the underlying meaning of a situation is just God way of showing us that we can overcome many obstacles! A great read!!!
