This series is one of the best which describes childhood trauma and the impact it can have. Would definitely recommend for those who loved the movie, A Silent Voice.

Avis :
Ce que j’aime dans le manga c’est que si on lit le résumé on s’attend a un scénario et en fait on nous propose encore mieux. Dans les grandes lignes, on suis une jeune fille qui loue un garçon car elle n'a plus de relation frère/sœur avec son propre frère qui la rejette depuis la mort de leurs parents ! Or la réalité est que la jeune fille pleurait et que ce frère de location lui a proposer de jouer ce rôle de grand frère et c’est elle qui mettra l’argent comme sujet pour se rappeler la réalité «ce n’est pas mon vrai frère » on découvrira par la suite les vrais raisons de sa proposition de grand frère j’avais peur que l’on suivent que ses 3 personnages mais non on suit aussi 2 autres qui sont assez important dans le manga. Le manga est rempli de magnifique messages cachés et j’ai vraiment su adorer les découvrir. Le manga à la note total de 10/10 Et pour ceux qui me connaisent j’ai tendance a revendre mes mangas même si j’ai aimé la série mais la il en est hors de question !

Review: What I like in the manga “Rental Onii-chan” is we get even better to what we expect from the plot summary. In short, we follow the story of a young girl who rents a “brother” for not having a real relationship with her own, who in fact rejects her since the death of their parents. In this relationship, the fact the girl gives money is a reminder to reality “he is not my real brother”, and the readers will later then discover the real reasons behind this fake brother/sister relationship. I also was afraid the story would only be about those 3 characters but in fact, there are 2 more. This manga is full of hidden beautiful messages and I loved to find more about them. For those who know me, I usually sell my mangas even though I like them, but for this one is out of question! I give this manga a 10/10.

So it has come to the end of this series and I have mix feelings. At what point to you take someone out of a TOXIC environment? A lot of books and shows look over the clear part of letting someone stay in a toxic place, encouraging them to stay and see it through, then FORGIVE FORGIVE! I absolutely hate this trope with a passion. And I know I am probably spoiling this but I don't give a flying monkey's arse.
I liked the story. Some guy on tiktok had me thinking this dude was going to be a form of big brother, take her to live with him, and then somehow they end up together. They don't, THANKFULLY! But something just as toxic happens. The young girl gets hurt, yet again, by her older brother and has to be taken to the hospital. The rent brother dude should have just taken her out of the situation before that.
By the end she STAYS with this toxic brother, but the fact that he just apologizes and it is all good is something that peeves me the hell off. I am happy the brother gets better and is doing well but this is just some BS.

the hold this whole series has on me. i cried every chapter, i full on sobbed and bawled and i wondered why it struck me so much.
it’s so desperately wonderful, hopeful and empathetic. it really showcases on of the more brilliant, beautiful sides to being human as well as the illogical, callous, dirty parts of us we try to hide.

All along, there's been a very important perspective we've been missing: Kanami's older brother's. From what we saw in the first three volumes, Kazutaka's a monster, abusing and neglecting his sister. But when Makoto's friend tells Kanami that he was bullied in high school. This inspires Kanami to try to approach her brother again, resulting in an injury when boxes in Kazutaka's overstuffed room fall on her - and she attempts to save him. Hysterical, Kazutaka calls Makoto, raising the curtain on the final act.
As children, we don't always know what's going on at home, and Kanami was completely unaware that her beloved parents were abusing her beloved older brother, both physically and emotionally. In fact, their car accident was a direct result of it - according to their dashcam (which Kazutaka listened to), they were arguing about what a disappointment he was and crashed. To say that this caused him further emotional damage is to understate the matter.
Does any of this make up for what he did to his sister? Absolutely not, and he does realize that. He knows he needs help, both professional and from Makoto, and he asks for it. But it still feels like this wraps up a little too neatly, even though I understand the author's desire to bring everything to a happy ending. As a four volume series, it was very good; as a six volume series it could have been great.
Still, I'm glad I read it. I'd like to see it get licensed in English. And mostly, narrative neatness aside, I'm glad to see Kanami's life turn out better than it began.

On en apprend plus sur les raisons de la méchanceté de Kazutaka et c'est vrai qu'il paraît moins pire maintenant. Après des révélations et un léger drame, la série se conclut un an plus tard, où tout le monde est sur le chemin de la guérison. En général, j'aime bien, surtout la scène finale, mais je ne suis pas complètement satisfaite.
Ça reste malgré tout une belle petite série, très touchante.

Manga ini sukses menekankan ikatan antar tokoh. Kanami tetap ingin menjaga hubungannya dengan Kazukata selaku abang kandungnya, maka ia merental Makoto sebagai abang bohongan. Rental di sini berperan besar sebagai pengingat kepada Kanami bahwa, Makoto bukanlah abang kandungnya.
Apa yang menimpa Kazukata, mulai dari trauma masa kecil sampai bullying di kala remaja menghasilkan dampak yang begitu dahsyat pada dirinya. Sekali lagi manga ini berhasil menggambarkan problema dari tokohnya dengan cukup baik, beserta dampak dari permasalahan tersebut.
Brother For Rent punya banyak amanah yang bisa ku petik. Emosi yang disalurkan sang mangaka pun tersampaikan pada ku. Volume terakhir ini juga ditutup dengan pas, tanpa terasa terburu-buru. Ini manga yang amat ku rekomendasikan, satu lagi manga shoujo bagus yang bisa terbit di Indonesia.

Band 4 von Brother for Rent ist ein toller Abschluss für die Reihe.
Es geht wieder spannend und gefühlvoll weiter.
Ich finde es toll wie Makoto und seine Freunde Hilfe und Trost für Konami spenden.
Und wie sie versuchen die Situation zu verändern.
Ohne zu Spoilern, ich wünschte das Ende hätte mehr damit zu tun.
Der Band hat eine Wendung auf die wir alle etwas hingefiebert haben.
Kanamis Bruder wird in diesem Band auch näher beleuchtet und seine Vergangenheit kommt zum Vorschein.
Ich liebe es das in der Reihe jeder Charakter eine Vergangenheit hat, dieses du weiß nie was der andere durchgemacht hat - also sei immer nett.
Zudem geben die Charaktere einfach Mut und Hoffnung auf das Leben und Veränderungen.
Eine ganz besondere Reihe mit vielen Emotionen und Tiefgang.

Este último tomo es un buen cierre a una historia triste y oscura, aunque llena de optimismo y esperanza. El cambio en el hermano real me parece un pelín precipitado, y tal vez falta algo más de espacio para desarrollar un poco más la relación de los padres, pero el final da calorcito y (repito, lo sé) esperanza. En definitiva, es un manga muy bonito.
En cuanto al nivel de japonés, en general sigue siendo sencillo, aunque tiene un par de frases complejas y vocabulario que no conocía. Por orden de dificultad, diría que el primer tomo es el más fácil, y le siguen el segundo, el cuarto (este) y por último el más difícil, el tercero. Pero vamos, que no es para nada complicado. Muy recomendable para un N4 en dirección a N3.

Une fin pleine d'espoir et positive qui conclut parfaitement cette histoire. J'ai été très heureuse de lire que Kazutaka a finalement accepté une aide professionnelle et continue, après un an de guérir de sa dépression et de persévérer. Frère à louer est une belle histoire qui montre l'importance du pardon et de l'importance d'apporter de la joie autour de soi. L'autrice à très bien amené ses personnages à une belle conclusion, certes, incertaine, mais c'est normal quand on rentre dans la vie adulte, mais très joliment dites. Malgré que l'histoire soit très courte on s'attache beaucoup aux personnages et surtout au combat qu'ils mènent.

I can't forgive her brother *completely* for everything that he's done, but I was glad to see the character development in the end - and his behaviour kind of made sense once you saw his backstory.. (why do anime parents always suck)

Jest ....okej Wacham się między 2 a 3 gwiazdki . Pomysł sam w sobie ciekawy ale wykonanie mnie nie urzekło.Morały banalne ,postacie dość płytkie i przewidywalne a smutne sceny były mi obojętne .Widać ,że autorka dość mocno ocenzurowała tutaj jakikolwiek dramat.Niby sceny uderzenia w policzek są ale na tym koniec .Poleciłabym młodszym dzieciom bo mimo że płytkie to nie szkodliwe.

Bagus banget :')
Cukup logis dan resolve yg bagus banget. Kasihan ternyata kakaknya Kanami. Masa lalunya sedih dan jahat. No wonder dia jadi seperti itu. :')
Walau ngga ada romannya, menurutku ini ceritanya sudah pas. Ga nyesel ngikutin seri ini dan untungnya pendek.
Cukup logis dan resolve yg bagus banget. Kasihan ternyata kakaknya Kanami. Masa lalunya sedih dan jahat. No wonder dia jadi seperti itu. :')

No, nemám ráda šťastné konce. Ani smutné. Nemám ráda ani konce… Pokaždé mám pocit, že končí i část mne. A přesně takový pocit jsem měla i u tenhle mangy🤧 Přála bych si, aby bylo delší. Klidně o jednu volume🤏🏻 Ale jsem ráda za ten šťastný konec✌🏻
